The big intercontinental migrations of last twenty years have had a great importance on the evolution the Spanish population, and in turn the demographic patterns of the native population have exerted some influence on demographic behavior of the foreign population. This paper approaches the changes produced in the origin, structures and natural and migra- tory dynamics of the foreign population in Spain, between the year 2000 and 2010, and his impact in the different Autonomous Communities.Las grandes migraciones intercontinentales de los últimos veinte años han tenido una gran importancia sobre la evolución la población española, a su vez las pautas demográficas de la población autóctona han ejercido cierta influencia sobre los comportamientos demográficos de la población extranjera. EL PROCESO DE REGULARIZACION DEL 2000 Y SUS EFECTOS SOBRE LA POBLACION INMIGRANTE: ENTRE MAGREBIES Y ECUATORIANOS

For more than ten years, Spain has become an inmigrant’s receiver country, and the same has happened to the region of Murcia. Along this period several processes have been developped which have culminated with the putting into effect the new «Ley de extranjería». At the same time a new Extraordinary Regulation Process has started in order to finish with the unlawful situation of thousands of illegal inmigrants.Desde hace algo más de una década España se ha convertido en país receptor de inmigrantes, y en Murcia ha sucedido lo mismo. A lo largo de este tiempo se han producido una serie de procesos que culminan con la entrada en vigor de la nueva Ley de Extranjería y puesta en marcha un nuevo Proceso Extraordinario de Regularización, para acabar con la situación de irregularidad en que se encontraban miles de inmigrantes

Escolarización de niños inmigrantes extranjeros en la Región de Murcia

During the last years, the foreign inmigration towards Murcia has been characterized by being mainly male inhabitants of the Magreb. The recent development of the process of family regroupation, almost unvaluable until now, and with it, the arrival of children has led to an intake of very different people , either different education , social integration, culture or language in schools in Murcia. In this essay there are references to the origin, evolution, number, education level and geographical distribution of the inmigrant students, which have increased their population from 260 in 1994-95 to nearly 2.000 in 1998-99, being most of them located in 3 áreas: Cartagena, Murcia and Torre Pacheco.Durante los últimos años la inmigración extranjera en la Región de Murcia ha estado caracterizada básicamente por ser magrebí y masculina. El desarrollo reciente del proceso de reagrupación familiar, prácticamente inapreciable hasta el momento, y con él, la llegada de los hijos, ha originado la entrada en la escuela murciana de poblaciones muy diversas, ya sea por su nivel educativo, su inserción social, sus prácticas culturales, su idioma etc. En el trabajo presentado se hace referencia al origen, evolución, importancia nimiérica, nivel de estudios en curso y distribución territorial del alumnado inmigrante, que ha pasado de 260 escolares en el Curso 1994-95 a cerca de 2.000 en 1998-99, concentrándose mayoritariamente en tres municipios: Cartagena, Murcia y Torre Pacheco

During last years it´s stated an important children and teenagers foering population increasing in Spain and Murcia, in consequence of the family regrouping that happens because of regulation processes, second generation birth and the great youth of some of the pioneers of inmigration. This article is about ignorance of the main demo-grapfic characteristics of this piece of population.Durante los últimos años se constata un importante aumento de la población infantil y adolescente extranjera en España y en Murcia, como consecuencia de la reagrupación familiar derivada de los procesos de regularización, del nacimiento de la segunda generación y de la gran juventud de algunos de los pioneros de la inmigración. El desconocimiento de los principales rasgos sociodemográficos de este segmento de población constituye el eje sobre el que se articula el presente trabajo

Mujer e integración social del inmigrante magrebí: un reto para el año 2000 en la Región de Murcia

Until the present time, the women's inmigration from the Magreb has hardly deserved the Spanish scholm'attention, because of its minonty and irregular nature. Today, this situation is changing given that the woman's incorporation in the groups of inmigrants in the Region of Murcia, on her own or accompanied with her relatives, seems to increase. Our study deals with the inmigrant women in our Region and also with the factors which either facilitate or interfere with their integration.La emigración femenina no ha merecido especial atención en Espaíía y, por lo tanto, en Murcia hasta hace relativamente poco tiempo, en parte por la desigualdad en el número de llegadas entre los sexos y porque la inmigración se percibe como fenómeno exclusivamente masculino. La realidad, sin embargo, apunta hoy en sentido muy distinto y aunque con dificultad por la debilidad de las estadísticas disponibles, la presencia de la mujer, de origen magrebí, sola o en compañía familiar, cada día es más visible en la actual oleada inmigratoria en nuestro país.
