State of the art of metalclad airships
Metalclad airship development of the past history are considered along with the immediate prospects for continuation of the development of these airships. The metalclad airships promise high safety even in highly inclement weather, are capable of high speeds, while lifting high useful loads. Metalclad airships which in first cost would compare favorably with the costs of sea-going ships and in operating costs promise to be lower than airplanes
Default Option, Risk-Aversion and Household Borrowing Behaviour
Assuming a risk-neutral bank and assuming household utility to be exponential, we show how under information symmetry the covariance of income and loan repayments may explain higher household borrowings than in the case without default option. Under ex post information asymmetry and positive control costs, the result is less clear-cut. We also make evident that in a situation in which a household without default option would neither borrow nor save, the existence of a default option makes household borrowing behaviour unpredictable.Consumption, exponential utility, certainty equivalent, households, default option, borrowing, risk, risk aversion, risk management
A Brief Agrarian History of the Cottonwood River Watershed in Southwestern Minnesota
The Cottonwood River Watershed is located in southwestern Minnesota, draining 1,310 square miles of land within the Minnesota River Basin. The watershed is comprised of parts of Brown, Cottonwood, Lyon, Murray, and Redwood Counties. This essay gives a brief account of the initial European settlement of the area and the establishment of the current political boundaries. It then focuses on the major developments in agricultural production during the past 150 years, touching on the changes in landscape and wildlife due to drainage and restructuring of water bodies and the clearing of forest land.Land Economics/Use,
How bad is Divergence in the Euro-Zone? Lessons from the United States of America and Germany
This paper compares relative unit labour cost developments in the countries of the euro-area since the beginning of the European Monetary Union (EMU) both with historical developments and with intra-regional unit labour cost developments in the United States of America and Germany. To this end, unit labour cost indices for the US states and census regions from 1977 to 1997 as well as for the German Länder from 1970 to 2004 have been constructed. Against this benchmark, it is found that unit labour cost increases since 1999 in Portugal and to a lesser extent in Spain and Greece can be judged as excessive, pointing at labour market rigidities which might impair smooth working of EMU in the future.Unit labor costs, divergence, convergence, Euro-zone, inflation

Be real black for me. The representation of African American Women in the television series She's Gotta Have it
Thirty-one years after the release of the movie She’s Gotta have it (1986), Spike Lee releases a long-format version of the movie with the same title through Netflix. This series format still presents an interesting depiction of the black female sexuality on which this research is based. Gender, race and class stereotyping is a stock feature of sitcoms but SGHI centers its plot in the life of the African American community in Brooklyn. This study analyzes the transmission and reproductions of stereotypes in the female characters of the show in order to demonstrate the prevalence of historical and emerging stereotypes in the twenty-first century.
Based on a review of the traditional depiction of African American sexuality, this analysis surveys the negative gendering that the film industry gives to the society by spreading discriminatory and sexist attitudes towards women and more concretely to African American women in the 2010s
In order to develop this argument, three female characters of the series are tested using a qualitative content analysis to interpret the evolution or obsolescence of traditional stereotypes.
