Integrated Innovative Assessment Method Through Case Study
There is a large body of research that shows a strong impact of different types of assessment on learners learning outcomes. Evidence on different approaches indicates that assessment may support or diminish learners’ motivation and performance depending on how it is designed, implemented, and used. How do educators incorporate and integrate the assessment methods holistically as ways and an opportunity for reflective learning, demonstrating the learner’s thinking, and measuring the learning outcomes (CLOs)? Through case study as an assessment method, the learners have an opportunity to reflect on and bespeak their thinking and lead them towards a better understanding of the concept. Considering the philosophy of teaching and learning, the application and integration of transformative teaching practice and innovative assessment methods into the SSS2053 Counselling Skills turns out the affirmative outcomes and compelling implications towards the learners’ learning

The difficulties social workers have when putting interventions into reality to achieve the SDGs.
Social work as a committed profession-dealing with social problems, functions in various contexts and within complex situations. Working in complex contexts such as in terms of
resources, policies, social problems, culture, and belief will influence social work interventions. How social work is functioning and response to many different contexts in which it operates will determine their interventions in order to make the reality of the SDGs. Understanding the context and utilization of a holistic approach to social work will influence the way social workers think and what to do, and this will strengthen the way their work and intervention is carried out by their service users. The challenges faced by social work practice should be addressed holistically. The innovative framework for approaching the SDGs through various social services and social work education and practice in the future should be a promising approach and relevant to its context. How best to integrate and frame
a social work approach and practice in strengthening the SDGs with various social services must be further explored in order to sustain its development and achieve goals
Exploring the Collaboration between Parents of Children with Learning Difficulties and Teachers in Inclusive Education
Collaboration between parents of children with learning difficulties and teachers is a fundamental principle
to bring inclusive education into practice. Parents and teachers are the main stakeholders with whom
children with learning difficulties interact on a daily basis. This research was conducted to explore the
existing collaboration between parents of children with learning difficulties and teachers in inclusive
education. It is a qualitative study based on in-depth interviews with parents of children with learning
difficulties and teachers selected through purposive sampling. Thematic analysis is used to construct themes
from the collected data. The study found that informal meetings were more preferable than formal meetings.
There are three types of collaboration between parents of children with learning difficulties and teachers:
direct collaboration, indirect collaboration, and passive collaboration. Despite the importance of
collaboration between parents and teachers, the decision to keep children with learning difficulties in
mainstream classes still depends on their eligibility to be included
Koleksyen Cherita Bala Nembiak Ari Kampung Sampun Gerunggang
The present generation tends to gravitate towards spending their time on electronic devices, engaging in activities such as browsing social media or playing games, regardless of whether they reside in rural or urban areas. Children who cultivate a habit of reading not only enhance their communication and language skills but also play a pivotal role in mitigating the illiteracy rate among Malaysian
children. Access to learning resources and experiences should be extended to all, including those in rural areas.
The Program Pandey Baca specifically targets children living
in longhouses. While formal education occurs within the school setting, it is our collective responsibility to ensure the holistic education of children in the Malaysian nation. Relying solely on formal education is inadequate for children in rural areas. The primary objectives of this
programme are to instill a culture of reading among children and to establish dedicated spaces with accessible reading materials for both children and the surrounding community. Throughout this six-month project, various activities have been implemented, encompassing reading, writing, numeracy, storytelling, self-expression, drawing, and acting. The promotion of moral values is also a core focus integrated
into all programme activities
Fire Disaster and Its Implications on Survivors and Social Work Practice: The Case of Rumah Lepang Sayat, Engkilili
This paper focuses on the implications of a longhouse fire on its survivors. It also presents the assistance that survivors received during post-disaster and the implications on the social work practice. It draws on qualitative research based on in-depth interviews with survivors selected through purposive sampling. The data of the study were analysed based thematic analysis. The findings revealed that the survivors faced both short-term and longterm implications after the fire disaster. The assistance received was mainly focused on responding to the shortterm implications and was less focused on long-term implications. In the scheme of things, these implications bear on the social work practices as well as on the conditions of the fire disaster survivors
Are dyslexic children involved in delinquency? Issues and recommendations for a more fulfilling life
No dyslexic children are left behind; it takes a village to raise a child. Thus, fostering the achievement potential of dyslexic children and avoiding their engagement in delinquent conduct is none other than everyone’s responsibility. This research aimed to achieve a deeper understanding of the causes of delinquent behaviour in children with dyslexia and to provide solutions that would steer their attitudes and behaviour towards a more ethical and meaningful life. This qualitative study examined
three samples representing dyslexic learning centres located in various places. The data were collected through online semi-structured interviews. Following that, the data were analysed utilising thematic analysis. It was discovered children with dyslexia face a variety of challenges. The
community’s and parents’ stigma towards these children, such as being slow and lazy, were proven to have influenced them with deviant behaviour. It was recommended that children with learning difficulties get early detection and intervention, have a robust support system and adopt various
pedagogical methods to ensure that all students could learn and guarantee dyslexics’ future success. In conclusion, early detection will enable children to get the proper intervention, preventing them from engaging in delinquent behaviours and assisting them in living in a more fulfilling life
