The perceived service quality, satisfaction and behavioural intent towards cellphone network service providers : a generational perspective
The importance of providing customers with quality services in order to satisfy them and encourage future purchases is well documented in literature. Yet, the cellphone network provider industry of South Africa seems to be riddled with service quality problems. This study aims to determine different generations’ perceived service quality of services and satisfaction levels with services provided by cellphone network service providers, as well as their behavioural intentions towards these providers. The study furthermore examines the correlations between these three constructs and uncovers significant differences between different generations. Data was collected from 2339 respondents by means of a self-administered questionnaire. Young Generation Y consumers perceive the service quality levels and service satisfaction levels of these providers as significantly lower than other generations. This is also true for their behavioural intent. Significant correlations also exist between the generations’ perceived level of service quality they experience, their perceived level of satisfaction with, and their behavioural intent towards providers. This implies that providers should strongly focus their efforts on satisfying the needs, and improving the service satisfaction of young Generation Y consumers in order to retain them in the future. Providers should also vary marketing strategies based upon the differences uncovered between the generations
The Dilemma of Agricultural Credit Policy in Brazil
Brazilian policy makers have played an active role in agricultural credit policy during the past 25 years. Many rules, regulations, policies and programs have been employed to increase the quantity and reduce the cost of agricultural credit. In some years, the amount of new loans made approached the value of agricultural output. Doubts exist about the extent to which expanded credit supplies accelerated technological change, expanded output and improved rural incomes. Large farmers absorbed a large share of the total credit. Interest rate constraints appear to have contributed to this concentration in credit distribution. The massive amount of subsidies involved in the credit program contributed to a need to reformulate credit and macroeconomic policies in the 1980s. The volume of new loans made subsequently fell sharply. In spite of acre than two decades of government involvement, Brazilian farmers are no closer to having a reliable, self-sustaining supply of agricultural credit today than they did in the early 1960's when the government began its heavy intervention
Brazilian Agricultural Credit Policy Revisited in the Eighties
Several developing countries have used credit policies to achieve agricultural development goals. The Brazilian case is especially revealing because huge amounts of rural credit have been channeled to agriculture, and credit policy was such an important part of agricultural policy during the past couple of decades. This paper reviews Brazilian credit policies and the impact of credit on agriculture over the 1960-1985 period. It serves as an important updating of our earlier paper that analyzed developments as of the mid-1970's [Araujo and Meyer (1978)). This paper includes data from the 1980 census which confirm some of the trends identified in the earlier paper. It also includes new information on the highly controversial issue in Brazil of the magnitude and impact of subsidies provided through negative real interest rates on agricultural loans
s-Process Nucleosynthesis in Advanced Burning Phases of Massive Stars
We present a detailed study of s-process nucleosynthesis in massive stars of
solar-like initial composition and masses 15, 20,25, and 30 Msun. We update our
previous results of s-process nucleosynthesis during the core He-burning of
these stars and then focus on an analysis of the s-process under the physical
conditions encountered during the shell-carbon burning. We show that the recent
compilation of the Ne22(alpha,n)Mg25 rate leads to a remarkable reduction of
the efficiency of the s-process during core He-burning. In particular, this
rate leads to the lowest overproduction factor of Kr80 found to date during
core He-burning in massive stars. The s-process yields resulting from shell
carbon burning turn out to be very sensitive to the structural evolution of the
carbon shell. This structure is influenced by the mass fraction of C12 attained
at the end of core helium burning, which in turn is mainly determined by the
C12(alpha,gamma)O16 reaction. The still present uncertainty in the rate for
this reaction implies that the s-process in massive stars is also subject to
this uncertainty. We identify some isotopes like Zn70 and Rb87 as the
signatures of the s-process during shell carbon burning in massive stars. In
determining the relative contribution of our s-only stellar yields to the solar
abundances, we find it is important to take into account the neutron exposure
of shell carbon burning. When we analyze our yields with a Salpeter Initial
Mass Function, we find that massive stars contribute at least 40% to s-only
nuclei with mass A 90, massive stars

Enhanced Safety Surveillance of Influenza Vaccines in General Practice, Winter 2015-16: Feasibility Study
BACKGROUND: The European Medicines Agency (EMA) requires vaccine manufacturers to conduct enhanced real-time surveillance of seasonal influenza vaccination. The EMA has specified a list of adverse events of interest to be monitored. The EMA sets out 3 different ways to conduct such surveillance: (1) active surveillance, (2) enhanced passive surveillance, or (3) electronic health record data mining (EHR-DM). English general practice (GP) is a suitable setting to implement enhanced passive surveillance and EHR-DM.
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to test the feasibility of conducting enhanced passive surveillance in GP using the yellow card scheme (adverse events of interest reporting cards) to determine if it has any advantages over EHR-DM alone.
METHODS: A total of 9 GPs in England participated, of which 3 tested the feasibility of enhanced passive surveillance and the other 6 EHR-DM alone. The 3 that tested EPS provided patients with yellow (adverse events) cards for patients to report any adverse events. Data were extracted from all 9 GPs' EHRs between weeks 35 and 49 (08/24/2015 to 12/06/2015), the main period of influenza vaccination. We conducted weekly analysis and end-of-study analyses.
RESULTS: Our GPs were largely distributed across England with a registered population of 81,040. In the week 49 report, 15,863/81,040 people (19.57% of the registered practice population) were vaccinated. In the EPS practices, staff managed to hand out the cards to 61.25% (4150/6776) of the vaccinees, and of these cards, 1.98% (82/4150) were returned to the GP offices. Adverse events of interests were reported by 113 /7223 people (1.56%) in the enhanced passive surveillance practices, compared with 322/8640 people (3.73%) in the EHR-DM practices.
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, we demonstrated that GPs EHR-DM was an appropriate method of enhanced surveillance. However, the use of yellow cards, in enhanced passive surveillance practices, did not enhance the collection of adverse events of interests as demonstrated in this study. Their return rate was poor, data entry from them was not straightforward, and there were issues with data reconciliation. We concluded that customized cards prespecifying the EMA's adverse events of interests, combined with EHR-DM, were needed to maximize data collection.

XTE J1550-564: INTEGRAL Observations of a Failed Outburst
The well known black-hole X-ray binary transient XTE J1550-564 underwent an
outburst during the spring of 2003 which was substantially underluminous in
comparison to previous periods of peak activity in that source. In addition,
our analysis shows that it apparently remained in the hard spectral state over
the duration of that outburst. This is again in sharp contrast to major
outbursts of that source in 1998/1999 during which it exhibited an irregular
light curve, multiple state changes and collimated outflows. This leads us to
classify it as a "failed outburst." We present the results of our study of the
spring 2003 event including light curves based on observations from both
INTEGRAL and RXTE. In addition, we studied the evolution of the high-energy
3-300 keV continuum spectrum using data obtained with three main instruments on
INTEGRAL. These spectra are consistent with typical low-hard-state thermal
Comptonization emission. We also consider the 2003 event in the context of a
multi-source, multi-event period-peak luminosity diagram in which it is a clear
outlyer. We then consider the possibility that the 2003 event was due to a
discrete accretion event rather than a limit-cycle instablility. In that
context, we apply model fitting to derive the timescale for viscous propagation

Lethal and sublethal effects of azadirachtin on the bumblebee Bombus terrestris (Hymenoptera: Apidae)
Background: Lethal and sublethal effects of azadirachtin were studied on Bombus terrestris via oral exposure in the laboratory to bring out the potential risks of the compound to this important pollinator.Results: Microcolonies chronically exposed to azadirachtin via treated sugar water during 11 weeks in the laboratory exhibited a high mortality ranging from 32 to 100 % with a range of concentrations between 3.2 and 320 mg litre-1. No reproduction was scored at concentrations higher than 3.2 mg litre-1. At 3.2 mg litre-1, azadirachtin significantly inhibited the egg laying and, consequently, the production of drones during 6 weeks. When azadirachtin was tested under an experimental setup in the laboratory where bumblebees need to forage for food, the sublethal effects were stronger as the numbers of drones were reduced already with a concentration of 0.64 mg litre-1. Besides, a negative correlation was found between the body mass of male offspring and azadirachtin concentration.Conclusion: Azadirachtin can affect B. terrestris with a range of sublethal effects. Untwisting of a Strained Cholesteric Elastomer by Disclination Loop Nucleation
The application of a sufficiently strong strain perpendicular to the pitch
axis of a monodomain cholesteric elastomer unwinds the cholesteric helix.
Previous theoretical analyses of this transition ignored the effects of Frank
elasticity which we include here. We find that the strain needed to unwind the
helix is reduced because of the Frank penalty and the cholesteric state becomes
metastable above the transition. We consider in detail a previously proposed
mechanism by which the topologically stable helical texture is removed in the
metastable state, namely by the nucleation of twist disclination loops in the
plane perpendicular to the pitch axis. We present an approximate calculation of
the barrier energy for this nucleation process which neglects possible spatial
variation of the strain fields in the elastomer, as well as a more accurate
calculation based on a finite element modeling of the elastomer.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figure
