Und was hat es schliesslich mit den «Schicksalen» dieser «Kritischen Theorie» auf sich

Carácter autoritario y estado autoritario: ¿conceptos de ayer?

El presente artículo da cuenta del marco en el que el Instituto de Investigación Social de Max Horkheimer desarrolla los conceptos de carácter autoritario y estado autoritario. Su contexto es el esfuerzo de Horkheimer y Adorno por desarrollar una teoría capaz de dar cuenta de la transformación de las sociedades y la economía post-liberal, que ha de captar la transición a un capitalismo de Estado y la debilitación de la autonomía del individuo, que implica también el surgimiento de formas correlativas de personalidad. A partir de este contexto, y teniendo en cuenta la importancia de la incorporación del psicoanálisis freudiano para este diagnóstico, el texto intenta sondear la actualidad de dichos conceptos

After the catastrophe of Auschwitz, the attempts to understand the genesis, the structure and the social function of the antisemitic ideology, as well as the psychology of the antisemites, have increased. This paper analyses the socio-historical genesis of the antisemitic apparatus, as well as its social functionali-ty in altered, actual contexts and its connection to new forms of xenophobia and racism. The antisemitic apparatus provides an easy "explanation" to com-plex social situations inflicting harsh suffering, but it also provides a matrix which structures and orientates the affects of those subjected to them. As the antisemitic apparatus points out the "real culprits" and authorizes their "pu-nishment", it exonerates and ennobles the anti-Semites; it encourages the feeling of "community", strengthening the bonds between the active peers and the silent accomplicesDesde la catástrofe de Auschwitz se han multiplicado los intentos de los cien-tíficos sociales por comprender la génesis, estructura y funciones de la ideo-logía antisemita y la psicología de sus portadores, los antisemitas. Este artículo analiza la génesis histórica y social del dispositivo antisemita, su funcionalidad social en nuevos contextos y sus vínculos con nuevas formas de xenofobia y racismo. Dicho dispositivo ofrece una explicación sencilla de las situaciones sociales complejas origen de graves sufrimientos y una matriz para la estructu-ración y orientación de los afectos de los sometidos a ellas. Al señalar a los "verdaderos culpables" y darle autoridad para su "castigo", exculpa y ennoble-ce a los antisemitas y refuerza los vínculos comunitarios con los iguales activos o los cómplices silenciosos

Este artículo analiza la génesis histórica y social del dispositivo antisemita, su funcionalidad social en nuevos contextos y sus vínculos con nuevas formas de xenofobia y racismo.
