Trabalho de projetos no processo de ensinar e aprender estatística na universidade

In this research, we look forward to understanding how the Pedagogical Project Project Works and Statistical Education at University may contribute to the students professional development of which they are participants. The above project was elaborated in the Mathematics Department of the Federal University of Uberlândia along with the Statatistics and Probability subject. The individuals involved in this project are those students who initiated the Mathematics Course in 2004 and that during our survey they were taking their fourth term in the second semester/2005. The reported project, our research object, was implemented upon five semesters between the years 2004/2006. The dynamics of such project is based on an approach which contemplates the production of projects, given that students are constantly involved while taking the Statistics and Probability subject. In order to understand the problematical nature of the research, whatever it should be, and as the experience with the Pedagogical Project Project Works and Statistical Education at University proved to contribute to the professional growth of students who are part of the project, we carried out interpretative and qualitative investigations within the participant research patterns. The gathering of data was done through observations, allusion documents to the Project, questionnaires and interviews. In the end, we established a data crossing to confront the Project aims and the purpose of this research which was performed from two axis of analysis: first, we analysed the Pedagogical Project Project Works and Statistical Education at University trajectory. Second, we discussed the contribution of this pedagogical practice for the students professional progress. We noticed that the students started to unfold knowledge towards research, teamwork, use of computational means, research methodology, investigation allied with statistical methods. At last, we believe that the students had, added to their participation in this work, the opportunity to enhance their learning for their future career.Mestre em EducaçãoNessa pesquisa procuramos compreender como o Projeto Pedagógico Trabalho de Projetos e Educação Estatística na Universidade pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento profissional dos estudantes que dele participaram. Esse projeto é desenvolvido na Faculdade de Matemática da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, concomitante à disciplina Estatística e Probabilidade. Os sujeitos são alunos que ingressaram no curso de Matemática em 2004 e, por ocasião de nossas investigações cursavam o 4 o Período/turma 2 o semestre/2005. O referido projeto, objeto de nossa pesquisa, foi implementado durante cinco semestres no período 2004/2006. Sua dinâmica é baseada em uma abordagem que contempla o trabalho com projetos, de forma que os alunos estejam envolvidos com os mesmos durante o desenvolvimento da disciplina Estatística e Probabilidade. Para compreender a problemática da pesquisa, qual seja, como a experiência com o Projeto Pedagógico Trabalho de Projetos e Educação Estatística na Universidade pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento profissional dos estudantes que dele participaram, realizamos uma investigação de cunho qualitativo e interpretativo, nos moldes da pesquisa Participante. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de observações, documentos alusivos ao Projeto, questionário e entrevistas. Por último, procuramos estabelecer um cruzamento destes dados com os objetivos do Projeto e o objetivo desta pesquisa que foi desenvolvida em dois eixos de análise: no primeiro, analisamos a trajetória do Projeto Pedagógico Trabalho de Projetos e Educação Estatística na Universidade. No segundo eixo discutimos as contribuições dessa pratica pedagógica no desenvolvimento profissional dos alunos. Consideramos que os alunos passaram a desenvolver saberes relativos ao ensino com pesquisa; saberes relacionados ao trabalho colaborativo. saberes referentes à utilização de recursos computacionais, saberes relativos à metodologia de projetos, saberes para investigação dentro de métodos estatísticos. Enfim, acreditamos que os estudantes tiveram, com a participação nesse projeto a oportunidade de desenvolverem saberes que contribuirão para sua vida profissional

Collective work with media on educational robotics

Nowadays one observes a large scientific and technological development in several areas. This movement leads many searchers seek to bring their schools up to its time. One of these initiatives has been to work in a robotics educational perspective in which the students were challenged to solve problems. In this study one analyzed a collective work with a robotic Public Elementary School where teachers and students developed an integrated practice with Blog and Robotics. In process data production, field notes and filming were done in different school learning environments. Data analysis showed that in this educational practice students became authors of their activities, projects and blogs.Atualmente, observa-se um grande desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico em diversas áreas. Esse movimento faz com que muitos pesquisadores “procurem colocar as escolas à altura do seu tempo”. Uma das iniciativas tem sido a de trabalhar com a robótica, numa perspectiva educativa em que os alunos são desafiados a resolver problemas. Neste estudo, analisa-se um trabalho coletivo com robótica em uma escola pública de Ensino Fundamental onde se produziram saberes docentes sobre uma prática integrada com blog e Robótica. No processo de produção de dados, foram registradas notas de campo e filmagens nos diferentes ambientes de aprendizagem da escola. No processo de análise dos dados, observou-se que, nessa prática educativa, os alunos se tornaram autores das suas atividades, de seus projetos e de seus blogs

NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES: a data set on carnivore distribution in the Neotropics

Mammalian carnivores are considered a key group in maintaining ecological health and can indicate potential ecological integrity in landscapes where they occur. Carnivores also hold high conservation value and their habitat requirements can guide management and conservation plans. The order Carnivora has 84 species from 8 families in the Neotropical region: Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Otariidae; Phocidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae. Herein, we include published and unpublished data on native terrestrial Neotropical carnivores (Canidae; Felidae; Mephitidae; Mustelidae; Procyonidae; and Ursidae). NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES is a publicly available data set that includes 99,605 data entries from 35,511 unique georeferenced coordinates. Detection/non-detection and quantitative data were obtained from 1818 to 2018 by researchers, governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private consultants. Data were collected using several methods including camera trapping, museum collections, roadkill, line transect, and opportunistic records. Literature (peer-reviewed and grey literature) from Portuguese, Spanish and English were incorporated in this compilation. Most of the data set consists of detection data entries (n = 79,343; 79.7%) but also includes non-detection data (n = 20,262; 20.3%). Of those, 43.3% also include count data (n = 43,151). The information available in NEOTROPICAL CARNIVORES will contribute to macroecological, ecological, and conservation questions in multiple spatio-temporal perspectives. As carnivores play key roles in trophic interactions, a better understanding of their distribution and habitat requirements are essential to establish conservation management plans and safeguard the future ecological health of Neotropical ecosystems. Our data paper, combined with other large-scale data sets, has great potential to clarify species distribution and related ecological processes within the Neotropics. There are no copyright restrictions and no restriction for using data from this data paper, as long as the data paper is cited as the source of the information used.
