The aim of this research is to examine the comparison of the aerobic and anaerobic capacity relationship according to positions of the professional football players (FP). The participants in this study were male FP (n = 32, Mage = 22.19, SD = 2.33, Mheight = 178 cm, SD = 0.04, Mweight = 73.05 kg, SD = 7.39, Mbodyfat %  = 9.01,  SD = 3.43, Mbodymasindex = 23.25,  SD = 2.23,) who professional trained regularly. They participated WAnT and shuttle run tests in order to measure anaerobic power (AnP) (MAnP = 14.31 watt/kg, SD = 1.57), anaerobic capacity (AnC) (MAnC = 7.5 watt/kg, SD = 0.4), maximal heart rate (HRmax ) (MHRmax = 179 beat per minute,  SD = 16.8) and maximal oxygen consumpt (VO2max ) (MVO’max = 51.8 ml/kg/min,  SD = 4.25). According the positions (defence – midfield and forward) of the FP, there isn't a statistical difference among HRmax, VO2max, AnP and AnC (p>0.05). There is no longer the concept of classical position in today's football so the features specific to classical position change. All of the footballers perform in both attack and defense. In accordance with the coach tactics, midfielder and striker blocks are constantly moving back and forth as the field is shrinks and so each player is about the same distances.  Article visualizations

This study was conducted to examine the correlation between the scores of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the scores of the Cardio Fitness Test (CFT) in students studying in the Faculty of Sports Sciences. The sample group was composed of totally 25 students, including 14 males and 11 females aged between 22-24 years. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) test battery including seven stations as deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, trunk stability, and rotary trunk and the Cardio Fitness Test (CFT) battery including six stations as resting heart rate, heart rate recovery, body flexibility, upper body strength, core strength, and lower body strength were applied to the sample group in different days. It was found that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the total scores of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and the total scores of the Cardio Fitness Test (CFT) (r =0.60, p<0.001). While no statistically significant correlation was found between the lower body total scores of the relevant test batteries, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the upper extremity total scores (r=0.48, p<0.05). Consequently; the significant correlation found between the Functional Movement Screen test battery, used in posture analysis and posture rehabilitation, and the Cardio Fitness Test formed the opinion that these two tests can be used in the field in combination. It may be recommended to apply this correlation in larger groups and assess the gender and age differences.  Article visualizations

    Get PDF
In this study, bread consumption statuses of families living in the central district of Tokat province were identified. Data were obtained from 272 consumers in November 2012. According to the findings, the amount of per capita bread consumption is 291.95 g which is lower than the national average consumption. The most frequently consumed bread type of families was loaf bread with 70.59%. Consumers were mainly purchased bread from supermarkets (80.51%) and oven (25.37%). More than half of consumers think that the quality of bread sold in the market is insufficient. Several families cannot consume a significant portion of bread purchased during the day; they re-used some of the staled bread and wasted the rest of staled bread. Measures should be taken to prevent the waste of bread. The quality of the bread produced should be increased and a necessary care for hygiene should be taken during production and sales stages

Test of Gross Motor Development-2 test was used to assess development of locomotor and object control skills of the three groups before and after 6-months training period. Wilcoxon test indicated that post-test scores of Test of Gross Motor Development-2 were significantly higher than pre-test scores for all three groups (p<.001). Kruskal Wallis test results showed that there were statistically significant differences between three groups on the object control and total scores of Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (p<.001) but no differences on the locomotor scores of the test. The development percentage of Multi Branches group was higher than those of the other two groups. As a result, it can be concluded that the training program based on Long Term Athlete Development approach improved object control skills of 6-8 years old children.  Article visualizations

BIM execution process of construction companies for building projects

    Get PDF
Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been an emerging concept in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry with a vast amount of promising benefits to construction projects. Implementation of BIM, however, requires comprehensive research and strategic planning. Industry-wide and organizational implementation guidelines and standards have been published around the world either to encourage organizations to adopt BIM or to present the minimum requirements to be followed where BIM implementation is a statutory obligation. In contrast, governments or organizations in several countries such as Turkey have not mandated BIM implementation and provide no guidance. Organizations in these countries which plan to adopt BIM processes are forced to develop their own implementation plans. The purpose of this study is to provide guidance in BIM implementation for construction companies in countries where BIM implementation has not been mandated particularly during the construction phase of the building projects. 23 BIM standards and guidelines covering the BIM execution process have been reviewed. Topics that need to be addressed by BIM implementation plans have been identified and categorized under four headings. A case study of BIM implementation at a large construction company that focuses on conducting quantity takeoff and cost estimation is presented, and unique challenges of BIM implementation in Turkish AEC industry are discussed

The control group only participated in the technical training. Before and after the 6-week programs, Illinois and Hexagon agility tests were applied. When the difference between pretest and post-test values is examined by t-test; Statistically significant differences were found in the agility test results applied to the boxers in the jump rope and agility ladder groups (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the agility test results applied to the boxers in the control group (p>0.05). A statistically significant difference was found in the one-way analysis of variance regarding the differences between the experimental and control groups in terms of the tests applied (p<0.05). As a result, it was aimed that jumping rope and agility ladder training programs were effective in improving agility ability

Utility of 'dual phase' cone beam computed tomography during radioembolisation in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma : what is really changing in flow dynamics before and after 90Y delivery?

    Get PDF
Purpose: The aims of the study were: 1) to compare two phases of dual-phase cone beam computed tomography (DPCBCT) achieved before and after Yttrium-90 (90Y) administration and to evaluate additional benefits during radioembolisation (RE) procedures; and 2) to compare DP-CBCT with pre-procedure contrast enhanced cross-sectional images in terms of tumour detection. Material and methods: Twenty-three hepatocellular carcinoma patients undergoing RE treatment were scanned with DPCBCT consisting of early arterial (EA) and late arterial (LA) phases before and after 90Y administration. The CT-like datasets were compared according to embolisation effect, enhancement patterns, lesion detectability, image quality, and artifacts by two interventional radiologists blinded to each other. The compatibility of the two radiologists was evaluated with kappa statistical analysis, and the difference between EA and LA phases was evaluated with marginal homogeneity test. Also, DP-CBCT images were compared with preprocedural cross-sectional images (CT/MRI). Results: For 23 patients 92 data were acquired. Thirteen patients showed a decrease on post-embolisation images both visually and on Hounsfield unit (HU) measurements. No statistical difference was found for tumour detection between EA and LA phases (p = 1.0). Tumour enhancement was visually superior at LA phases whereas EA phases were better for arterial mapping for selective catheterisation. DP-CBCT images were not inferior to preprocedural cross-sectional imaging findings. Conclusions: DP-CBCT is a promising tool for predicting tumour response to therapy and is not inferior to preprocedural cross-sectional imaging in terms of tumour detection. It allows better assessment during RE procedures because early phases provide good mapping for superselective catheterisation whereas late phases are better for visualisation of tumour enhancement
