Chapter Il Piccolo Masaccio e le Terre Nuove. Creativity and Computer Graphics for Museum Edutainment
Since its opening, the Museum of the New Towns, housed in the Palazzo di Arnolfo in San Giovanni Valdarno, has dedicated a particular attention to the relationship with its audiences. In this context, the video âIl piccolo Masaccio e le Terre Nuoveâ has the purpose of bringing children and young people, in particular, closer to the museum main themes. The video presents a series of very different techniques, such as live shots, taken also by drone, Computer Graphics, 2D drawings executed with a tablet, drawings sketched with traditional techniques, such as India ink and watercolours, and digital videos taken from Google Earth
The Italian open data meteorological portal: MISTRAL
AbstractAt the national level, in Italy, observational and forecast data are collected by various public bodies and are often kept in various small, heterogeneous and nonâinteroperable repositories, released under different licenses, thus limiting the usability for external users. In this context, MISTRAL (the Meteo Italian SupercompuTing PoRtAL) was launched as the first Italian meteorological open data portal, with the aim of promoting the reuse of meteorological data sets available at national level coverage. The MISTRAL portal provides (and archives) meteorological data from various observation networks, both public and private, and forecast data that are generated and postâprocessed within the Consortium for Smallâscale ModelingâLimited Area Model Italia (COSMOâLAMI) agreement using high performance computing (HPC) facilities. Also incorporated is the Italy Flash Flood use case, implemented with the collaboration of European Centre for MediumâRange Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), which exploits cutting edge advances in HPCâbased postâprocessing of ensemble precipitation forecasts, for different model resolutions, and applies those to deliver novel blendedâresolution forecasts specifically for Italy. Finally, in addition to providing architectures for the acquisition and display of observational data, MISTRAL also delivers an interactive system for visualizing forecast data of different resolutions as superimposed multiâlayer maps

High performance computing to support land, climate, and userâoriented services: The HIGHLANDER Data Portal
The Italian territory is located at the heart of one of the global hot spots of climate change, where the implementation of climate-smart land management practices is imperative to guarantee the present and future maintenance of ecosystem functions as well as the sustainability of human socioeconomic activities. The project HIGHLANDER (HIGH performance computing to support smart LAND sERvices) led by Cineca aims at building a comprehensive and multi-sector framework for land-management decision-making in Italy. The project relies on high quality information on different components of the landscape, with a focus on climate-driven processes, and state-of-the-art computing infrastructures. The HIGHLANDER Data Portal maximizes the impact of HIGHLANDER results by providing access to data products and services. In this article, we describe the architectural features of the platform, as well as the available HIGHLANDER datasets and downstream application
