Particle distributions in approximately 10(14) 10(16) eV air shower cores at sea level
Experimental evidence is reported for fixed distances (0, 1.0, 2.5 and 4.0 m) from the shower centers and for core flattening. The cores become flatter, on average, as the shower size (primary energy) increases. With improved statistics on 4192 cores, the previous results are exactly confirmed

Exploring the Benefits from B2B Implementations Through ERP
This paper reports on research carried out in 1999-2001 on the use of e-business applications in SAPbased organisations. Structured interviews were used to collect data on eleven established organisations from a diverse range of industries. The findings are analysed according to the level of sophistication of e-business models. These early adopters of e-business show a trend towards cost reductions and administrative efficiencies from procurement and self-service applications used by customers and employees A complex case study of e-business integration with a global supplier and its corporate customers is analysed to identify specific antecedents for success. Collectively the set of case studies is used to demonstrate the increased benefits derived from an e-business architecture based on a network of ERP enabled organisations

Nurse Health, Work Environment, Presenteeism and Patient Safety
Presenteeism is linked to negative outcomes for patients, nurses, and health care organizations; however, we lack understanding of the relationships between nurse fatigue, burnout, psychological well-being, team vitality, presenteeism, and patient safety in nursing. Therefore, the two aims of this study were: (a) to examine the fit of a literature-derived model of the relationships between presenteeism, psychological health and well-being, fatigue, burnout, team vitality, and patient safety; and (b) to examine the role of presenteeism as a mediator between patient safety and the other model variables. Survey data were analyzed using Composite Indicator Structural Equation (CISE) modeling, a type of structural equation modeling. Model fit was acceptable with multiple significant relationships. Presenteeism due to job-stress mediated multiple relationships to patient safety. Our findings indicate that focusing on job-stress presenteeism may be relevant for this population and may offer additional insight into factors contributing to decreased nurse performance and the resulting risks to patient safety.JONAS PhilanthropiesThis item from the UA Faculty Publications collection is made available by the University of Arizona with support from the University of Arizona Libraries. Spectroscopy of neutron-unbound F
The ground state of F has been observed as an unbound resonance
keV above the ground state of F. Comparison of this
result with USDA/USDB shell model predictions leads to the conclusion that the
F ground state is primarily dominated by -shell configurations. Here
we present a detailed report on the experiment in which the ground state
resonance of F was first observed. Additionally, we report the first
observation of a neutron-unbound excited state in F at an excitation
energy of keV.Comment: 10 pages, 11 figures, Accepted for publication in Phys. Rev.

Large Deviations for a Non-Centered Wishart Matrix
We investigate an additive perturbation of a complex Wishart random matrix
and prove that a large deviation principle holds for the spectral measures. The
rate function is associated to a vector equilibrium problem coming from
logarithmic potential theory, which in our case is a quadratic map involving
the logarithmic energies, or Voiculescu's entropies, of two measures in the
presence of an external field and an upper constraint. The proof is based on a
two type particles Coulomb gas representation for the eigenvalue distribution,
which gives a new insight on why such variational problems should describe the
limiting spectral distribution. This representation is available because of a
Nikishin structure satisfied by the weights of the multiple orthogonal
polynomials hidden in the background.Comment: 40 page
