Ultra-short of pico and femtosecond soliton laser pulse using microring resonator for cancer cells treatment
A system of microring resonators (MRRs) incorporating with an add/drop filter system is presented in which ultra-short single and multi temporal and spatial optical soliton pulses can be simulated and used to thermalbased killing of abnormal cells, tumor and cancer, applicable in nanomedical treatments. This proposed system uses chaotic signals generated by a bright soliton pulse within a nonlinear MRRs system. Interaction between gold nanoparticles and ultra-short femtosecond and picosecond laser pulses holds great interest in laser nanomedicine. By using the appropriate soliton input power and MRRs parameters, required spatial and temporal signals are generated spreading over the spectrum. Results obtained show that smallest single temporal and spatial soliton pulse with FWHM = 712 fs and FWHM = 17.5 pm could be generated respectively. The add/drop filter system is used to generate high capacity ultra-short soliton pulses in the range of nanometer/second and picometer/second
Information technology directors' efforts on innovation, integrated marketing communications and brand equity
Purpose – The main purpose of this study is to examine information directors in the area of communication activities related to innovation and marketing decisions in branding.
Design/methodology/approach – The study is quantitative and utilized structural equation modeling technique with the approach of minimum trivial squares for analyzing the data. 130 questionnaires were distributed among information technology directors in Tehran and they form the statistical population for the research.
Findings – The results suggested that innovation in integrated marketing communications has positively significant effect. In addition, both the variables of innovation and integrated marketing communications positively and significantly affect the three components of brand equity (namely, brand image, the perceived quality and brand loyalty).
Originality/value – Despite the growing acknowledgment the importance of innovation, integrated marketing communications and brand equity, however, there are few studies on the role and importance of information technology directors’ efforts on innovation, integrated marketing communications and brand equity
Improving employees' performance through internal marketing and organizational learning: mediating role of organizational innovation in an emerging market
This study identifies a specific relationship between internal marketing and organizational learning as the key drivers of organizational innovation, which build employees performance in the context of the petroleum industry. A model of the antecedents of organizational innovation was examined in a survey conducted among managers and employed specialists working in the oil industry in Iran. Structural equation modelling via Smart PLS was employed to gain insight into the various influences and relationships. We empirically scrutinized relationships between these constructs by validating a conceptual model employing SEM. The results indicate that internal marketing and organizational learning are key drivers of organizational innovation, which they are build employees performance. As well as, the results clarify that it is possible to improve the level of employee performance even through the complementary partial mediating role of organizational innovation. Additionally, this study makes a managerial contribution to the understanding of internal marketing, organizational learning and innovation on employee performance

An integrated microring circuit design for optoelectronic transformer applications
The on-chip scale circuit of the optoelectronic transformer is designed and manipulated using the microring resonator system. By using the monochromatic input light source, the electro-optic signals can be generated and functioned as the step up and down conversion by mean of the on-chip optoelectronic transformer. The step up and down of the electro-optic related power conversions can be obtained via the input and drop port connections. The results obtained have shown that the flexible up and down electro-optic conversion ratios of 1: 5 and 10:1 for the step up and down conversions, respectively. The uses light source wavelength source was centered at 800 nm, where the conversion stability of 1600 fs is noted. The linearity trend of the conversion stability is confirmed
Secure quantum signatures using insecure quantum channels
Digital signatures are widely used in modern communication to guarantee authenticity and transferability of messages. The security of currently used classical schemes relies on computational assumptions. We present a quantum signature scheme that does not require trusted quantum channels. We prove that it is unconditionally secure against the most general coherent attacks, and show that it requires the transmission of significantly fewer quantum states than previous schemes. We also show that the quantum channel noise threshold for our scheme is less strict than for distilling a secure key using quantum key distribution. This shows that “direct” quantum signature schemes can be preferable to signature schemes relying on secret shared keys generated using quantum key distribution. This work was supported by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) under EP/G009821/1 and EP/K022717/1. Band renormalization of a polymer physisorbed on graphene investigated by many-body perturbation theory
Many-body perturbation theory at the level is employed to study the
electronic properties of poly(\emph{para}-phenylene) (PPP) on graphene.
Analysis of the charge density and the electrostatic potential shows that the
polymer-surface interaction gives rise to the formation of only weak surface
dipoles with no charge transfer between the polymer and the surface. In the
local-density approximation (LDA) of density-functional theory, the band
structure of the combined system appears as a superposition of the eigenstates
of its constituents. Consequently, the LDA band gap of PPP remains unchanged
upon adsorption onto graphene. calculations, however, renormalize the
electronic levels of the weakly physisorbed polymer. Thereby, its band gap is
considerably reduced compared to that of the isolated PPP chain. This effect
can be understood in terms of image charges induced in the graphene layer,
which allows us to explain the quasi-particle gap of PPP versus
polymer-graphene distance by applying a classical image-potential model. For
distances below 4.5 {\AA}, however, deviations from this simple classical model
arise which we qualitatively explain by taking into account the polarizablity
of the adsorbate. For a quantitative description with predictive power,
however, we emphasize the need for an accurate ab-initio description of the
electronic structure for weakly coupled systems at equilibrium bonding
distances.Comment: 9 pages, 11 figure
Integration of Spirituality in Medical Education in Iran: A Qualitative Exploration of Requirements
Background. Healthcare system has needed to provide spiritual services, and one of the reasons for not addressing spirituality in this field is lack of training in this area. This study purpose is to explore and identify main requirements for designing this education, in Iran. Materials and Methods. This is a qualitative study with conventional content analysis method. 18 participants, who were main stakeholders in spirituality, medical education, and curriculum development, were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using semistructured interviews, which continued until data saturation. Results. Three main themes and their categories were extracted from analysis of data. The themes are (1) educational needs including clinical practice needs; (2) opportunities including rich background and backup, perceived clinical need, and right context of medical education for change; and (3) challenges including challenges in academic planning and barriers to implementation. Conclusion. All stakeholders acknowledged the need for addressing spirituality in formal medical education. It seems that implementation of such programs requires attention to facilitating factors and challenges proposed by those involved. © 2015 Nadereh Memaryan et al
