Results evidenced thatthe tourism sector is not taking advantage of the availablequalified human resources. Moreover, data suggests that tourismgraduates employed outside the tourism sector are facing poorerworking situations than those graduates employed within thisindustry
Predictive Value of Absent Septal q Wave in Patients with Significant Stenosis of Proximal Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery
Aims: There is conflicting data about the predictive value of absent septal q wave in patients with significant stenosis of proximal Left Anterior Descending coronary artery. To clarify the exact role of this simple electrocardiographic sign we conducted this prospective descriptive study. Methods: Patients who were referred for coronary angiography in Milad Hospital between December 2008 and September 2009 were chosen randomly. Standard ECG was performed and reviewed for presence or absence of septal q wave, and then the coronary angiography was done and reported by another cardiologist. Results: Of 148 patients with absent septal q wave in ECG, 85 patients (57%) had significant stenosis of proximal LAD in coronary angiography. Statistical analysis showed that significant stenosis of proximal LAD could be predicted by absence of septal q wave in ECG with sensitivity of 59% and specificity of 47%. However, Kappa statistic (Kappa = 0.36) showed low agreement between them. Conclusion: Absence of normal septal q wave in ECG could be a low value predictor of coronary artery disease mainly significant proximal LAD stenosis
Evaluation of urban tourism products: Kuala Lumpur as a destination of choice
Urban tourism has emerged as a significant and distinctive form of tourism, yet it has received a disproportionately
small amount of attention in tourism research. Research on urban tourism is rarely conducted among Asian countries such as
Malaysia. Therefore, this research attempts to evaluate and investigate the development of urban tourism products in the biggest
urban area in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur (KL), using a strategic planning method, namely, the SWOT analysis. Findings of this study
Applying consumer behaviour theory and grand models to attendees behaviour in coference industry
This study attempts to provide a rational suggestion for creating a useful theory of decision making via a qualitative review of the “grand models” of consumer behavior and then applying this theory to conference decision-making context. During past three decades many consumer behavior theories and models have been developed and become prominent research topics in various fields of consumer science. These models, labeled the “grand models” of consumer decision-making which tend to describe the process of proceeding throughout a major buying decision as a rational problem solving approach. However, objections against use of grand models have been expressed since their introduction. The main objective of this research is to challenge these criticisms and prove that grand models are properly applicable in the context of conference decision-making based on logical discussions. Considering the fact that international convention market is growing rapidly and is attracting huge number of attendees every year, therefore the development of a reliable theory for understanding conference attendees’ behavior is not only a matter of purely academic interest but also a possible contribution to convention tourism marketing practice
