What dilution theory protects is the reputation embodied in the trademark, thus the purpose of the protection is to avoid the theft or damage of the reputation that the trademark holder has built for a long time. Trademark law has been amended several times in China, but no definition or applicable standards are clearly defined in law when it comes to dilution. The Supreme People's Court defines the requirements for dilution in judicial interpretation, such as trademark judicial interpretation, since trademark disputes are divided into civil and administrative cases, analysis of civil and administrative cases will show how the theory of dilution is applied. Chapter 1 of this paper discusses research objectives and research methods; Chapter 2 discusses the definition of dilution theory, the type of dilution, the relationship between dilution theory and confusion theory, and the relationship between dilution theory and trademark parody. It also summarized the current status of dilution and related legislation in major countries such as the United States, Europe, and Korea. Furthermore, inspected China's legislative status in comparative law. Chapter 3 analyzed civil and administrative precedents related to dilution to find out the requirements the court considers in determining whether dilution is established in civil cases, the direction of the court's examination, and how the trademark award and confirmation rules apply specifically in administrative cases. Chapter 4 proposed how to apply dilution theory in the trademark law system through analysis of civil and administrative precedents. Although individual behavior in organization is the result of coexistence of various motives, causes and countermeasures for manpower shortage in hospitals are discussed mostly in terms of material compensation. To date, excessive workload with low wages or low medical fees are pointed out as the main problems in manpower shortage. Approaches through extrinsic reward are essential in current workforce problems in hospitals, but there are practical difficulties in hospital or healthcare policy. In addition, as medical professional workers, their behaviors are influenced by professional ethics in addition to intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Healthcare services are social service with a character of public goods. Hospitals are the organizations that fulfill the individual right to health and achieve the public goodness through the provision of healthcare services. It is especially a key feature that has been emphasized and demanded as the role of public hospital in Korea. Social responsibility of hospital should be a moral obligation to contribute the hospitals resources to the health of individual as the public goodness. In addition, professional hospital workers take the oath of professional ethics to make a commitment to health and well-being of patients prior to work in the hospital. This means that the public and altruistic nature of healthcare service, as well as the hospital and the its professional employees also share the publicness of healthcare services. One of the characteristics of hospitals is that they pursue conflicting organizational values and visions. An organizations value system can influence the values, beliefs, attitudes and even behaviors of each individual worker. This means that the public value of healthcare service for hospital and their workers is a very important factor in explaining their organizational behaviors. Therefor, in order to understand the organizational behavior of hospital workers, various factors such as individual values, beliefs, and attitudes toward the publicness in healthcare services are need to examine together with the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation that must be firstly fulfilled in order to solve the current problems in human resource management in hospitals. This study aims to examine the human resource management and employees organizational behavior in hospitals using the concept of Public Service Motivation(PSM). In this context, this study is expected to contribute to pursue the effective alternatives in human resource management in hospitals, and to cultivate the public service value of health workforce in public health policy, and to extend the research topics and methodology in healthcare organization research. In addition, this study will provide an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the motivation that has been forgotten or given a low priority in healthcare organization in Korea. The survey data of total employees in one public and one private hospital in the metropolitan area are used. Considering the size of the Korean hospital market and the number of workers in healthcare organizations, it is necessary to pay attention to generalization of the research results because the study subjects are very small. Although the research subjects are limited to two individual hospitals, the study fulfilled the necessary conditions for analyzing the organizational behavior of professional workers in hospital through PSM in two aspects. First, the type of hospital โ€“ public and private โ€“ can be distinguished and compare to each other. Second, since the research was conducted on all members of the hospital, various occupations including physician are included and compared. The first study is based on the proposition of the person-environment fit theory, that individual attitude and behavior in organization are the product of interactive dynamic between individual and environment, and person-environment fit plays an important role in the research on the effect of PSM. Public hospitals in South Korea have been forced to pursue or change the organizational goals and values similar to those of private hospitals under the influence of new public management paradigm. This study examines how the changed organizational goals or values in public hospital interacts with the individual employees PSM and how it affects the individuals job attitude such as organizational commitment. Polynomial regression and response surface analysis are conducted by sub-dimensions of PSM by using survey data of 686 public hospital workers in Seoul. The study findings indicate that PSM fit led to higher organizational commitment, but its strength is different by sub-dimensions. Specifically, individual organizational commitment is more strongly affected by the organizational instrumental motives when there is discrepancy between individual and organizational PSM. In other words, when the public hospital performs the inherent and imperative role as the public hospital, and clearly shows the public value and mission of the organization, it can increase the workers organizational commitment. The second study investigates the antecedents of individual hospital workers PSM by using the survey data of 1,489 employees in two hospitals. In particular, this study focuses on the effect of professional characteristics of hospital workers on PSM based on the social identity theory. Among job-related, organization-related, and socialization- related factors of hospital workers, the socialization factors have a strong effect on individualสผs overall and all sub-dimensions of PSM. While the effect of organizational identification is prominent in the public hospital, professional identification is more powerful in the private hospital. As the professional hospital worker, their process of socialization as a profession starts from a higher education institution before organizational recruitment and continues after the organizational recruitment through continuing education. Therefore, it can be expected to increase the PSM of hospital workers through the development of the curriculum for publicness of healthcare service or public health in the medical colleges, nurse colleges, and other colleges related to healthcare as well as continuing education program organized by each professional associations. In the third study, the effect of PSM on various outcomes related to organizational behavior is investigated by structural equation modeling. The results show that the PSM of hospital professional workers is a motivation factor distinguished from intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Individual PSM increases the job satisfaction, organizational commitment indirectly through the effect of person-organizational value fit, and also indirectly decreases the turnover intention. In addition, the main motivational factor for turnover intention is extrinsic motivation related to compensation. It means that the improvement of labor conditions for hospital workers is important as the cultivation of their PSM. Also, in the sub analysis using multi group structural equation modeling, the effect of the self-sacrifice dimension of PSM is consistently significant in medical job group, and the size of explanatory power is also large. It means that the altruistic motivation, that is self-sacrifice, is a very important part of the PSM of medical professional in South Korea. Study findings point out the critical point in managing the PSM of professional workers in hospitals, and the further researches on the conceptual distinction between self-sacrifice as the sub-dimension of PSM and occupational ethics of professional workers in hospitals are needed. This study provides empirical evidence that there is other way to improve the motivation of hospital professional workers besides structural approach through the improvement of labor condition such as wage increase. Also, this study provides important clues about what hospital to do to motivate their professional workers in relation to public service. Based on the results, this study proposes that the curriculum for publicness of healthcare should be developed and included in formal medical education process and continuing education program of various medical professional associations. Furthermore, it is necessary to include evaluation items related to employees PSM to the management evaluation system for public hospitals. In this way, public hospitals will be more actively search for and perform practical management programs to increase professional workers PSM.

The sample size of the study was 1,275, and the type of the living arrangement was divided into the following four categories: a. Living Alone, b. Living with Spouse Only, c. Living with Spouse and Child, and d. Living with Child Only. In order to measure the level of the mental health, Life Satisfaction and Depression Scale was used, and samples were stratified by gender. Among the 1,275 samples, 257(21.7%) living alone, 535(42.0%) living with spouse only, 277(21.7%) living with spouse and child, and 206(16.2%) were living with child only. Older people living with spouse only showed the best mental health status among the four types of living arrangement while those who are living alone were the poorest. Using multiple regression analysis, both older men and women living with spouse only showed higher life satisfaction than those living with spouse and child. For older men, the factors that had significant effects on their life satisfaction were high level of education, economic status, number of diseases they have and ADL. In other hand, high level of education, ownership of the house, asset satisfaction, subjective health status and ADL showed significant effects on their life satisfaction, for women. Social activities showed effects on the life satisfaction in both older men and women. The relationship between living arrangement and depression was analysed by using multiple regression analysis, and elderly men living alone and elderly women living with spouse and child showed a significance in the result. Asset satisfaction, subjective health status, ADL, social activities had significant effect on both older men and women. However, for women, high level of education, ownership of the house, number of diseases and social support also showed significant effect. The study is depicting the dynamics of change in the value of the traditional living arrangement of elderly people in Korea. It became their voluntary choice to live separately from their children, and it is very possible for them to have better quality of life than those who are living with children. Consequently, policy makers should consider to expand the scope of the beneficiaries of the elderly health programs since there could be elderlies who are vulnerable from poor mental health even though they are living with their own children. โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ keyword : living arrangements, elderly women. elderly men, life satisfaction, depressionMaste
