The purpose of this study was to develop and validate the scale of factors adversely affecting successful support for children with low achievement in basic academic skills, which can be used at schools running the program for supplementary lessons. For this purpose, the scale was developed with items from the results of a previously conducted qualitative study. The complete form of the scale was given to a total of 440 elementary school teachers in order to confirm the reliability and validity as a useful measurement tool. Through the item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, 16 items were excluded from the scale and the final scale ended up with 8 factors, 16 sub-factors, and 72 items with high reliability. Through the confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation model, the scale appeared to have appropriate construct validity. In conclusion, it can be said that the newly developed scale in the present study ensured acceptable psychometric properties. Based on the results, future research directions were discussed

[์˜๋ฌธ] It seems that the security and maintenance of personnel resources may be functioned as one of the most important factors in the medical system, and the efficient management of nursing manpower would greatly contribute to the enhancement of competition. However, it is true that nurses have thus far neither played satisfied roles within their hospitals nor gone through proper growth stages, with a high rate of turnover at cost-effective experience stages. With this in view, the objective of this study focused on grasping for the role definition of the nurse and the job specificity of nursing perceived by those nurses with a short career, analysing their relationships with the intention of turnover and then providing basic data needed for efficient personnel management. For that purpose, sampled out from two third-level and two second-level medical institutions were nurses with a short career less than three years. Role definition was measured by the translated version of J. Stemple Role Definition Measurement Tool and job specificity by the Job Diagnosis Survey proposed in the theory of job specificity. The term of data collection ranged for two weeks from May 10, 2002 though May 24, 2002. The method of data collection depended upon the utilization of a self-filling-up questionnaire, questionnaire forms were distributed to the study subjects and withdrawn from them. The collected data were computerized using the SPSS/PC+ program. Results were revealed as follows: 1) The respondents showed a high cognition of the Nursing care role orientation. Job characteristics represented a high cognition of the significance of task (11.02) and feedback (10.23) but a low cognition of autonomy (9.17) and the variety of skill (8.30). A high response was disclosed of the intention of turnover by 14.52. One of the most greatest causes to take turnover into consideration was principally attributed to irregular working hours. 2) As for Nursing care role orientation in relation to the general characteristics of the study subjects, a high response was reflected from married status than single, a high academic career, a new nurse with less than one year of experience, an operation room. Autonomy/research factors, a subvariable of Nursing care role orientation, revealed a significant difference by working experience. As for work experience, the highest cognition of orientation was shown in new nurses with less than one year of experience. Collaborationn, a subvariable of role definition, revealed a significant difference by economic conditions, regards economic conditions, the medium degree showed the highest collaboration factor. Job characteristics not presented a statistically significant difference. But, subvariable of job characteristics, the variety of skill was significant in working departments, high cognition came in order of operation units, internal medicine and surgeries. Task identity did not disclose any significant variables and the significance of task was of the highest cognition among the respondents''s duties. What showed a statistically significant difference here was their working experience and department, as for work experience, the highest cognition of task significance was shown in new nurses with less than one year of experience and as for workplaces the highest cognition shown in order of ob&gyn/children units, intensive care units, emergency care units, internal medicine and surgeries. Furthermore, autonomy did not show any statistical significance but the Finally, feedback pointed out statistic significance in work experience and working departments. The higher their work experience, the higher feedback they showed, along with the highest feebback in ob&gyn/children units. 3) General characteristics and the intention of turnover represented a significant difference in work experience and academic careers. The highest intention of turnover came from one to two years, with the highest intention from college graduates. However, Institutions higher than graduate schools gave a low intention of turnover but the highest intention of turnover from one type to another type of occupation. 4)Correlations among Nursing care role orientation, job characteristics and the intention of turnover indicated that when Nursing care role orientation was on the increase, the intention of turnover was on the decrease but little correlation. Job characteristics factors did not point to statistically significance with the intention of turnover. However, the lowest intention of turnover was shown from those new nurses with less than one year of experience, while the lowest job specificity from the academic career higher than postgraduate courses with the highest intention of change of occupation to another type. As aforementioned, inasmuch as the intention of turnover and work experience reflected significant difference, it is needed to develop differentiated efficient educational programs varying with experience and prosecute follow-up studies of multilateral methods of the function of the working system in which turnover is functioned as one of the greatest factors.ope

[์˜๋ฌธ] The aim of the study is to search the influence of school nurses activities in elementary school students health care by comparing the students knowledge of cavity and corpulence and their accomplishment of health activities in the schools where nurse teachers reside, to that in the schools where nurse teachers patrol. Among the elementary schools in Kyunggi province, in both urban and rural areas, 4 schools where school health nurse reside and where they patrol were respectively selected as samples. The materials came from the arbitrary selection of 800 elementary students of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades, those who were attending the sample schools. The tool of the study was developed on the basis of the current physical education text and health education text used in elementary schools. Also the tool was corrected and revised by 3 professors of the same major field. Finally, the content and structure of the questionnaires were modified and reconstructed by three incumbent school health nurse advice and confirmation. The questionnaire was composed of 23 questions in total. Among them, there were 5 questions about general characteristics, 8 questions related with cavity, and 9 questions connected with corpulence. The period of collecting the material was from September 1, 2001 to October 31, 2001, and the method was processed through delivering mail questions. Among the questionnaires withdrawn, 733 were used for the analysis excluding the improper results. SPSSWIN 9.0 was used for the material analysis,(Chi-square), One way Anova, t -test and Post-hoc test was applied to examine. The summary of the main analysis result is as follows: First, Fifth grade of the object of the study is 8.2% the most numerous case, Sixth grade of the object of the syudy is 5.6% the lest numerous case. Most of the object of the study reside with the parent. Second, 70.2% out of the object of the study have got the education about the prevention against cavity, 35.1% have got the education against corpulence. There was no significant difference between the students in the schools where nurse teachers reside and where they patrol. Third, in the knowledge of cavity, the case that nurse teachers reside is better in knowing well the method to brush teeth and the food that is good for tooth health, than the case that nurse teachers patrol, or physical education or responsible teachers take charge of. In addition, it was statistically meaningful that getting the prevention instruction against cavity, the students are better informed about the way of tooth brushing than the opposite case. However, the study shows that those who have the experience of cavity education take dental treatment more frequently. In the knowledge of corpulence, there was no meaningful gap between the students in the schools where nurse teachers reside and where they patrol. Forth, in the fulfillment of the health activities about cavity and corpulence, there was little distinction. However, if nurse teachers reside, slight corpulence, 20-30% overweight from standard weight, was the most numerous case. On the other hand, if nurse teachers patrol, the rate of the middle corpulence , 30-50% overweight from standard, was 38.5%, the highest in the whole. Considering the study above, it does not matter seriously whether nurse teachers reside or not in cavity and corpulence, which are the major health problems in elementary school age. Nevertheless, the study indicates, when the students get the prevention education against cavity, they had more information about cavity prevention. Thus, it is essential that nurse teachers in every schools, who can directly mediate the students medical matters, and who can offer continual guidance and instruction. Also, governmental support and attention for school health are required.ope

[์˜๋ฌธ] This study was undertaken to provide preliminary data for the development of an education program for self-care performance promotion by CAPD patients which centers around the dialysate exchange procedure and catheter exit site care. The purpose of this study was to evaluate self-care performance level and to describe self-care noncompliance phenomena in the dialysate exchange procedure and catheter exit site care. The research design utilized in this study was a descriptive survey design. A purposive sample of 30 patients with CAPD resident in Seoul was obtained from registered clients at dialysis service room in G-Company. The data were collected from April 1 to April 30, 1992, through interview in which a questionaire was used and observation in which a checklist was used. The instrument used in this study was a self-care performance scale for the dialysate exchange procedure and catheter exit site care which was prepared by the researcher. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Mann - Whitney test and Kruscal - Wall is test with SPSS/PC+ The results are summarized as for lows: 1. The average level of self-care performance was 0.69, showing a relatively high level of self-care performance. The lowest score was for the item "wear a mask" with an average of 0.40 for the dialysate exchange procedure and "shower or wash the exit site every day" with an average of 0.07 was lowest for the catheter exit site care. 2. Client characteristics such as sex, occupation. socio-economic status, handling ability and visual impairment were not significant factors influencing the self-care performance level. 3. The reasons why self-care was net done were a knowledge deficit about the concept of aseptic care, low level of motivation, insufficient education at the hospital, a lack of understanding, inadequate housing, deficit in physical ability and economic hardship. From the result of this study, if self-care performance in CAPD patients is to be promoted, the nurse as an educator must reinforce and teach knowledge and skills on items which showed lower scores on the self-care scale and support concrete helping services and coping strategies to deal with therapeutic self-care demands.restrictio

The purpose of this study was to test the effect of science class applied universal design for learning(UDL) on science achievement and to explore subgroups within students in a middle school. For this purpose, this study employed latent growth class analysis(LGCA) and analyzed the characteristics of score growth rate of subgroups from both whole area and 3 subareas of science achievement. Participants were 192 students and 6 science teachers implementing or supporting UDL for 15 weeks. The results were obtained as follows: Within experimental and control groups, 4 subgroups emerged from both whole area and subareas; The whole science achievement of experimental group was enhanced more than that of control group; For subareas, relatively more positive effect of increasing achievement was shown in experimental group students with low scores, and students with high scores in experimental group showed a tendency to maintain their scores, while those in control group showed a tendency to get significantly reduced scores. These results imply that the need exists to examine how the effectiveness obtained by group average would appear distinctly when focused on the information of changes in scores of each subgroup, and that LGCA can be applied usefully to classify subgroups
