Nondestructive measurements of water content in porous media, e.g., bricks, stones, and compacted soil, are required to assess the deterioration of historical buildings/structures. Unlike conventional methods, time domain reflectometry (TDR) can nondestructively and continuously measure water content by monitoring changes in dielectric constant. The popularly-used TDR instrument, e.g., 1502C of Tektronix Inc., has an effective frequency range of 1GHz while a higher-end TDR instrument, e.g., 86100B+54754A of Agilent Technologies, has that of 20GHz. The 20GHz TDR instrument provided clearer waveforms with a 4cm-long probe than did the 1GHz TDR instrument when a TDR probe was placed in conditions with less water content. Further research is needed for an appropriate design of a TDR probe and for improving a waveform analysis algorithm

Fracture of the penis: a report of four cases
Four cases of fracture of the penis were treated surgically at our department between 1978 and 1982. No functional disorder has been observed in any case after the treatment. One hundred and ninety cases diagnosed as fracture of the penis reported in the Japanese literature were reviewed and their pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy were discussed
Present State of UAV and Applications for Civil Engineering
UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is effective for remote sensing and obtains high-resolution data at low cost rather than satellite images and aerial photos. However, there is a lot of remote sensing with satellite information, while there is a little remote sensing with UAV photogrammetry. Then the authors researched a present state of UAV and applications for civil engineering. The objectives of this study was to construct a 3D model, to make orthogonal photos, and to calculate NDVI, NDWI, chlorophyll-a, and turbidity distributions and water catchment areas from UAV photogrammetry. In this paper, the authors introduced 3 examples for remote sensing with UAV and discussed possibility of the future on UAV
