Performance of Waspaloy at elevated temperature for heat exchanger applications
This investigation was focused on characterizing the high-temperature tensile behavior and corrosion susceptibility of the nickel-based alloy Waspaloy, which is a candidate structural material for heat exchangers in the nuclear hydrogen generation program. The tensile properties, evaluated at three different temperatures, indicate that both yield and ultimate tensile strength were gradually reduced with increasing temperatures. While no failures were observed in stress corrosion cracking (SCC) tests in an acidic solution under a constant-load, the true failure stress (sigmaf) was reduced to some extent under a slow-strain-rate condition using both smooth and notched specimens. The critical potentials, determined in a similar environment by a polarization method, became more active at elevated temperature. Cracking was enhanced both at anodic and cathodic applied potentials, showing reduced failure strain and sigmaf. Compared to the other two tested nickel-based alloys, Waspaloy showed the lowest corrosion rate. The fractographic evaluations of the primary fracture surface of the tested specimens revealed dimpled microstructures, indicating ductile failures

Role of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in Industrial Development in Gujarat State
The SIDBI banks being an important nerve of modern organized society can play an important role in the SSIs transformation. They provide the infrastructure on which agriculture; industries and trade of nation depend. They can allocate available resources by mobilizing deposits and advancing credit into the best possible uses according to national priorities. By opening branches in unbanked and under-banked areas, the banks can spread magnetization, thereby introducing a larger market economy in place of natural economy. By providing loans to agriculture and small-scale sector they can solve the acute problems of unemployment and under employment. Hence banks can rightly be called the nationโs agents of economic development. But in developing countries like India the role of SIDBI is not confined to accepting deposits and advancing loans. They also accept, the accelerating flow of credit in accordance with the needs of SSI development. They have shifted from restricted old conservative policies to modern banking with lots of new techniques, which brings dynamism and innovation in their functioning. The Government of India and the State government have been pursuing a policy of protecting and promoting small-scale industries for a long time. Small scale industries have been accorded pride of place in the planned industrialisation process of the Indian economy, which is characterized by among other factors low productivity in the SSIs abundant labour and scarcity of capital. The Government of India felt that in spite of various incentives provided for backward areas by both the central and state governments industrial growth in backward areas has not been satisfactory mainly because of inadequacy of infrastructure. It therefore felt the need to have an institutional framework for expeditious improvement of existing infrastructural facilities and creation of new infrastructural facilities where there are not any

Pro-environmental behaviour, locus of control and willingness to pay for environmental friendly products
YesMarketers have realized the importance of assessing consumersโ willingness to pay (WTP) before introducing green products across different target audience. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relative influence of consumersโ pro-environmental behaviours (PEBs) and environmental locus of control (ELOC) on their WTP for green products.
The study sample consisted of 256 Indian consumers which were recruited with the help of convenience sampling. A structured questionnaire was administered with scales that were well established and that have been used in previous research. Data were analysed with the help of CFA and structural equation modelling to test the relationship of ELOC and PEB anon WTP. Second, clustering respondents according to their PEB and ELOC has been done to find its differential effect on WTP with the help of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA).
Findings of the study highlight that WTP for green products is significantly predicted by two variables which are in following order: PEB and ELOC. Results of cluster analysis and MANOVA revealed that WTP differ significantly with the level of intensity of ELOC and PEB among Indian consumers.
It advances the body of knowledge centred on the interplay of the PEB and ELOC to WTP for green products. Additional work is clearly required to consider the wide range of potentially relevant variables like brand image, prices, advertisements and product quality that ensures the generalizability of findings.
The hypothesis framed, tested and inferences made can form a basis of extremely valued toolkit for those green marketers who take caution when planning their marketing and communications strategies to stimulate the WTP by conveying a reason and motivation to act environmentally.
In this study, an understanding of WTP for green products is developed. The much required knowledge gap in terms of interplay of ELOC and PEB on WTP has been filled with the help of the present study. It has been identified that those consumer groups who displays higher PEB and ELOC forms the primary target audience for green product marketer
MGA Entertainment, Consumer Entertainment Products Company: Marketing Strategies for โBratzโ
YesToy industry in the US is product driven and full of challenges. This case presents an overview of the California-based Micro Games of America (MGA) Entertainment, which is a consumer entertainment products company, engaged in innovative lines of proprietary and licensed products including toys and games, dolls, consumer electronics, home decor, stationery and sporting goods. It had more than 200 licences. In 2001, MGA launched a fashion doll called โBratzโ, and it sold 150 million Bratz dolls all over the world. Bratz line surpassed the legendary brand โBarbieโโMattel, Inc.โs flagship brandโin a short span of time through many innovative marketing strategies and different product placement, roll-outs, tie-ins and other promotional tactics, despite facing many challenges, such as, fast-changing demographics, shorter product life cycle (PLC) and negative perceptions about brand. This case can be used to address two issues: first, structural change drivers and trends that shaped the toy industry in developed economies and, second, how to develop effective marketing strategies for product with shorter PLC in highly product-driven market
Clomiphene citrate alone versus combined metformin and clomiphene citrate versus combined metformin and clomiphene citrate and drilling versus metformin alone in infertile Indian women with PCOS: a prospective cross-sectional study
Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common cause of infertility and is associated with chronic anovulation and hyperandrogenemia. With associated features like irregular menses, acne and hirsuitism. It is seen in approximately 6% of women in reproductive age group and is one of the most common reproductive abnormality and endocrinopathy. Clomiphene Citrate remains the mainstay of this disorder however addition of metformin to it has been known to improve ovulation and pregnancy. The aim and objectives of the present study were to diagnose the patients with PCOS out of all patients who present with complaints of infertility, to compare ovulation and conception rates with Clomiphene Citrate alone V/S Combined Metformin and Clomiphene Citrate V/S Combined Metformin and Clomiphene Citrate and Drilling V/S metformin alone in Infertile Indian Women with PCOS.Methods: A total of 50 cases with PCOS, in women of age group between 20 to 35 years was studied from June 2017 to December 2017. All of them having chief complain of infertility. Endocrino-histologic correlation and laparoscopic evaluation was confirmed by history, clinical manifestations, USG, laboratory investigations (LH, FSH, Insulin levels etc.) and laparoscopy was done. Results: After administration of Insulin sensitizing agent, Tab. Metformin, 500mg 1 TDS, in management of PCOS who have hyperinsulinemic insulin resistance, there was ovulation with regular menstrual cycles, followed by pregnancy and full term deliveries. Thus, metformin definitely has a role in treatment of PCOS.Conclusions: Metformin down regulated the hyperstimulated reproductive axis and allows for reversal to normoandrogenic state. Hence adding metformin to CC leads to increased ovulatory and conception rates as compared to either of them alone. In cases of laproscopic ovarian drilling spontaneous pregnancy rates showed no statistically significant correlation between the degree of fall in AMH but the chances of successful conception may improve after Ovarian drilling
System formulation for parallel circuit analysis
Advances in communication systems and VLSI circuits increase the performance requirements and complexity of circuits. During the design process, there is a need to perform computationally demanding numerical simulations to verify the functionality of circuits under design. One way to reduce computing time is to use parallel processing. This thesis discusses different techniques for parallel circuit analysis with emphasis in the formulation of equations for a circuit decomposed in subcircuit blocks.
For manually decomposed circuit, this thesis introduces two approaches to formulate circuit equations. The two formulations allow to independently analyze each subcircuit block by periodically exchanging information with a master process. A node-tearing process is used to divide the system Jacobian in blocks. The first formulation is base on the nodal voltages and currents at the interface nodes. The second formulation is presented in this thesis for the first time and uses scattering waves to exchange information between subcircuits. The two formulations are described in detail and implemented in a general circuit simulator.
Simulation results comparing the performance of the proposed formulations for different circuits are presented. These results indicate that there is no advantage in using waves to exchange information between subcircuits. Moreover, at least with the current software implementation the formulation based on nodal variables is significantly more efficient. This thesis concludes with a road map for future work
