Computer-assisted access to the kidney

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this paper is to introduce the principles of computer-assisted access to the kidney. The system provides the surgeon with a pre-operative 3D planning on computed tomography (CT) images. After a rigid registration with space-localized ultrasound (US) data, preoperative planning can be transferred to the intra-operative conditions and an intuitive man-machine interface allows the user to perform a puncture. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Both CT and US images of informed normal volunteer were obtained to perform calculation on the accuracy of registration and punctures were carried out on a kidney phantom to measure the precision of the whole of the system. RESULTS: We carried out millimetric registrations on real data and guidance experiments on a kidney phantom showed encouraging results of 4.7 mm between planned and reached targets. We noticed that the most significant error was related to the needle deflection during the puncture. CONCLUSION: Preliminary results are encouraging. Further work will be undertaken to improve efficiency and accuracy, and to take breathing into account

Geology-structural position and specialization of granitoid the Amalat plateau

Представлены результаты изучения геолого-структурной позиции и специализации гранитоидов Амалатского плато. Определен минеральный и элементный состава гранитоидов фундамента. Установлено, что гранитоиды фундамента представлены лейкократовыми биотитовыми гранитами субщелочного ряда, определены основные породообразующие минералы, акцессорная минерализация (апатит, циркон, сфен, магнетит, монацит, ксенотим) и минералы носители урана. Установлена высокая радиоактивность гранитоидов фундамента торий-урановой и урановой природы. Stimulation of commercial coal seam methane production aimed at improving mining technology

The relevance of the current research is due to the urgent need to revise the existing normative bases and procedures involved in intensive development of coal-methane deposits and commercial production of coal seam methane. The article presents the analysis of data on coal production volume and amount of methane emitted into the atmosphere in Kuzbass. There is a need to develop the exploration techniques that would allow implementing pre-mining gas drainage of coal seams and provide the companies with the guidance on coal seam methane drainage in very gassy coal mines. Commercial production of methane should become an integral part of economy and energy balance of the Russian Federation, which, in its turn, would enhance environmental protection due to reducing methane emissions, the largest source of greenhouse effect

Объектом исследования является нефтяная скважина, эксплуатируемая в осложненных условиях на Северо-Останинском месторождении Томской области.
