On the Anonymization of Differentially Private Location Obfuscation

Obfuscation techniques in location-based services (LBSs) have been shown useful to hide the concrete locations of service users, whereas they do not necessarily provide the anonymity. We quantify the anonymity of the location data obfuscated by the planar Laplacian mechanism and that by the optimal geo-indistinguishable mechanism of Bordenabe et al. We empirically show that the latter provides stronger anonymity than the former in the sense that more users in the database satisfy k-anonymity. To formalize and analyze such approximate anonymity we introduce the notion of asymptotic anonymity. Then we show that the location data obfuscated by the optimal geo-indistinguishable mechanism can be anonymized by removing a smaller number of users from the database. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the optimal geo-indistinguishable mechanism has better utility both for users and for data analysts.Comment: ISITA'18 conference pape

Separating Overlapping Tissue Layers from Microscopy Images

Manual preparation of tissue slices for microscopy imaging can introduce tissue tears and overlaps. Typically, further digital processing algorithms such as registration and 3D reconstruction from tissue image stacks cannot handle images with tissue tear/overlap artifacts, and so such images are usually discarded. In this paper, we propose an imaging model and an algorithm to digitally separate overlapping tissue data of mouse brain images into two layers. We show the correctness of our model and the algorithm by comparing our results with the ground truth

Examining the relations between principals’ self-Image and conflict management styles

The present study aimed to identify the relation between school managers’ self-image and their conflict management styles. The study was done among 40 managers of high schools in Esfaraien town, who were selected by the help of Bureau of Education of this town by census method. All managers had official notice of charge of management. The results indicated that there is no meaningful relation between self-image and conflict management styles, there is no meaningful relation between self-image and conflict management styles in relation to the gender, and finally in a strategic research the results showed that most of managers have used solution orientation as the management technique

A study on prioritizing typical women’s entrepreneur characteristics

Entrepreneurship is one of the main pivot of progress and growth of every country. The spread of entrepreneurship particularly the role of women in this category has speeded up today more than any other times. Many of researchers believe that attention to women entrepreneurship plays remarkable role in soundness and safety of nation’s economy. Maybe in Iran less attention has been paid to this matter in proportion to other countries and due to various reasons, there are not many entrepreneur woman. However, employing typical entrepreneur women in various fields of productivity, industrial, commercial, social and cultural and even higher than these, in country’s political issue proves that women’s role is magnificent and in many cases they enjoy higher abilities in portion to men. In this paper, using additive ratio assessment (ARAS) as a prioritizing method, eleven entrepreneur women were chosen for prioritizing criteria for measuring a typical women’s entrepreneurship characteristics. The results show that the balance between work and family among criteria are propounded as the highest weight and fulfilling different jobs simultaneously as the lowest weight

Pneumatic Rupture of Rectosigmoid; a Case Report

Pneumatic rectosigmoid rapture is usually occurred following the inappropriate fun by direct entering a high volume of the air through the pneumatic device to the anus. Such an event was reported for the first time in 1904 by Stone. Diagnosis and treatment of such injuries are often delayed because of some social limitations and preventing the patient form explaining the event. Colon sigmoid rupture and pneumoperitoneum is one of the most dangerous and life treating complications of entering a high volume of the air to the rectum in a short time.
