    Given a projective irreducible symplectic manifold MM of dimension 2n2n, a projective manifold XX and a surjective holomorphic map f:MXf:M \to X with connected fibers of positive dimension, we prove that XX is biholomorphic to the projective space of dimension nn. The proof is obtained by exploiting two geometric structures at general points of XX: the affine structure arising from the action variables of the Lagrangian fibration ff and the structure defined by the variety of minimal rational tangents on the Fano manifold XX

    Rate-determining process in MISIM photocells for optoelectronic conversion using photo-induced pure polarization current without carrier transfer across interfaces

    Recently, we proposed a [metal|insulator|semiconductor|insulator|metal] (MISIM) photocell, as a novel architecture for high-speed organic photodetectors. The electric polarization in the S layer, induced by modulated light illumination, propagates into the outside circuit as a polarization current through the I layers, without any carrier transfer across the interfaces. In the present work, we examined the MISIM photocells consisting of zinc-phthalocyanine(ZnPc)-C60 bilayers for the S layer and Parylene C for the two I layers, to understand the fundamental aspects of the MISIM photocells, such as current polarity and modulation-frequency dependence. It was found that, in such devices, the current polarity was primarily determined by the polarization in the S layer, which was induced by the donor–acceptor charge-transfer upon illumination. Furthermore, the ON and OFF current, which appeared in the periods of illumination-on and -off, respectively, exhibited significantly different dependence on the modulation frequency. This was well-explained by an imbalance between a quick polarization in the S layer during illumination and its slow relaxation in the dark

    XMM-Newton Observation of IC 310 in the Outer Region of the Perseus Cluster of Galaxies

    We present results from an XMM-Newton observation of the head-tail radio galaxy IC 310 located in the southwest region of the Perseus cluster. The spectrum is well-fitted by an absorbed power-law model with a photon index of 2.50±0.022.50 \pm 0.02 with no significant absorption excess. The X-ray image shows a point-like emission at IC 310 without any signs of a structure correlated with the radio halo tail. The temperature of the intracluster medium surrounding IC 310 declines as a function of distance from the cluster center, from kT6 kT \sim 6 keV in the northeast corner of the field of view to about 3 keV in the southwest region. Although we do not find any sharp edges in the surface brightness profile, a brightness excess over a smooth β\beta model by about 20% is seen. The temperature also rises by about 10% in the same region. This indicates that the IC 310 region is a subcluster probably infalling into the Perseus cluster, and the gas in front of IC 310 towards the Perseus cluster is likely to be compressed by the large-scale motion, which supports the view that the IC 310 system is undergoing a merger.Comment: 7 pages, 8 figures (including color), accepted for publication in PAS

    We report superconductivity with Tc,onsetT_{c,onset}=\sim10K in Pr2_{2}Ba4_{4}Cu7_{7}O15δ_{15-\delta} compound possessing metallic double chains. A reduction treatment on as-sintered samples causes not only the enhanced metallic conduction but also the appearance of superconductivity accompanied by the c-axis elongation due to oxygen deficiency
