THE IMPACT OF THE FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC CRISIS ON THE EVOLUTION AND STRUCTURE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN ROMANIA

Unemployment represents one of the economic and social phenomena highly sensitive to changes in the dynamics and structure of the national economy. The impact of the financial crisis, triggered at the end of 2008, had dramatic consequences also on the Romanian economy, which was still fragile and quickly responded as a restriction, a retreat, both preventively and curatively. Negative evolutions occurred in the immediate future in all areas, both economic and social, for many economic operators unemployment representing one of the alternatives to "mitigate" the effects of the crisis. In this context, the paper approaches a series of theoretical aspects related to determining the unemployment indicators and presents the evolution of the main field indicators, in Romania, after 2008, to highlight the negative influence of the global financial and economical crisis. Thus, the analysis of unemployment in Romania after 2008, the year that marked the beginning of the financial crisis, showed a rapid and significant increase of it, at least in 2009, illustrating this thorough the immediate reaction the significant impact of the crisis on the Romanian economy. Although the years 2010 and 2012 showed a slight easing of the situation, the beginning of 2013, as a consequence of the deepening financial problems and of a particularly tense global climate, marked a new period of rising unemployment. Recourse to unemployment, as a result and in response to the financial crisis is a measure which, although apparently has a preventive character of bankruptcy, it will surely not give positive results in the future. It is just a postponement of it, which will ultimately lead to the drastic compression of the activity, to the collapse

[...] THE RESEARCH CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK The topicality and importance of the researched problem. Ovarian torsion (OT) is a rare but severe condition, with a prevalence of 2,7% [1] - 3% [2], up to 6% [3]. It is currently ranked fifth in gynecological surgical emergencies [1] and can be found at any age, the majority of cases occur in women of reproductive age [4]. It is a medical emergency that affects 4,9/100.000 of the female population aged 1-20 years [5]. Approximately 80% of cases occur during the reproductive age period [2] and 20% of cases occur during pregnancy [6]. The incidence of the disease during pregnancy in the literature data varies from about 1-10 to 1000 [7], to 1 to 5000 pregnancies [2] and occurs more frequently in the first trimester, in patients undergoing infertility treatment for in vitro fertilization (IVF) or ovarian stimulation [8], this being a cause of increased incidence of the disease [9]. SUBSIDIARITY IN THE UNION LAW: A SUCCESS OR A FAILURE?

    Get PDF
The principle of subsidiarity has been introduced in the Union law, as a constitutionalprinciple, by the Treaty on the European Union in order to protect the competences and theauthonomy of the member States from the interferences of the Union (the EuropeanCommunity at that moment) in the areas of shared competence. It is not sure today that it hassucceeded to fulfil this role. Due to their functional nature, the competences of the Union hasgradually expanded until now

ADAPTATION OF WOFOST MODEL FROM CGMS TO ROMANIAN CONDITIONS

    Get PDF
This preliminary study is an inventory of the main resources and difficulties in adaptation of the Crop Growth Monitoring System (CGMS) used by Agri4cast unit of IPSC from Joint Research Centre (JRC) - Ispra of European Commission to conditions of Romania. In contrast with the original model calibrated mainly with statistical average yields at national level, for local calibration of the model the statistical yields at lower administrative units (macroregion or county) must be used. In addition, for winter crops, the start of simulation in the new system will be in the autumn of the previous year. The start of simulation (and emergence day) in the genuine system is 1st of January of the current year and the existing calibration was meant to provide a compensation system for this technical physiological delay.Proposed approach provides a better initialisation of the water balance (emergence occurs after start of simulation), as well as a better account for impact of wintering conditions, but obviously a new calibration for all cultivar dependent parameters is necessary. For the preoperational run, the localized model will use the weather data available till the last day available and the missing data from the rest of the year will be replaced either by the daily values of the long term averages or by the values from a year considered similar with the current one.Proposed adaptations permit a better use of information available on local scale and the localized model may be the core of a regional system for crop monitoring and in the same degree as the original system it can be used as tool for specific researches, such as studying the impact of climate changes

Communication as defining dimension of culture

The gifts of speaking and of written word are the only ones which differentiate us from the animal world. The social organization, wars, big constructions and other such things can also be found at other species on the planet; however, we are unique through the way we communicate and through the quantity of information that we share every day

Orthodox Response to Christian Universalism: The Theological Perspective of Pavel Florensky

    Get PDF
This study aims to offer an Orthodox response to the challenges posed by the new understanding of Christian universalism. We argue that contemporary man requires a clear and comprehensive answer to this issue, given that universalism is not merely a theological concept but also must be understood by each individual. This response is imperative as Christianity is obligated to answer everyone at all times, in line with the teachings of Apostle Peter about being prepared to answer questions about our hope (1 Peter 3:15). In this context, the study examines contemporary antinomian views on Christian universalism, with a specific focus on the original theory of theologian Pavel Florensky. Florensky posits that divine judgment will separate the 'holy self' of the damned - which will be preserved without exception and viewed joyously by the righteous, but will only objectively exist for them - from their self-consciousness of enduring torment and illusory subjectivity. Through this lens, hell is perceived as the sole reality in the consciousness of the damned, yet non-existent in the consciousness of God and the righteous. This study provides an important perspective on how Orthodox theology can respond to the challenges of universalism in a contemporary context

Human Nature through Freudian Lenses. A Reading of Ordinary People (Robert Redford, 1980)

    Get PDF
The article highlights the Freudian approach applied in depicting the events ensuing in a family after a tragic accident – and the related psychoanalysis case, determined by a case of traumatic neurosis – as illustrated in Robert Redford’s movie Ordinary People. The elder son in the family dies in a boat accident, while his brother survives, unable to save him. Ridden with unconscious guilt, the brother tries to commit suicide. Later, he eventually starts an analysis that will bring to the surface his interpretation of the accident, unknown to himself, as the actual traumatic event. The emphasis is placed on a suggestion-free direction of the cure, as promoted by both Freud and Lacan, where the analyzand finds his own words and brings the trauma to memory, moving from a traumatic and compulsory reliving in the present to a remembering of something in the past which liberates the present
