The Soul\u27s Response to Surveillance: A Foucaldian Investigation Into the Economy of Power Created by Contemporary Surveillance Techniques and the Conditioning of the Post 9/11 Subject

This work examines the effects of the contemporary American surveillance apparatus and situates these effects within the classical negative liberal tradition. Using Michele Foucault’s analysis of disciplinary power, I demonstrate how surveillance techniques, particularly those established post 9/11, affect American subjects. Further, I situate the mechanisms of power operating as a consequence of contemporary American surveillance within the classical liberal tradition. For this analysis, I draw upon negative notions of liberty such as the harm principle established by John Stuart Mill. This entire work reveals what type of power, in a Foucaldian sense, is presently functioning in America as a consequence of surveillance, in addition to determining whether this new regime of power is consistent with the most fundamental notions of American liberty

2020 Pumpkin Variety Trial

In 2020, the University of Illinois Extension conducted an observational pumpkin variety trial in southern Illinois at the Southern Illinois University Belleville Research Center, in Belleville, IL. The trial was a single replication including 54 pumpkin and winter squash varieties divided into 2 categories: Specialty and Jack O’Lantern. Specialty Pumpkins included anything of “carving size” and colors other than orange (white, red, blue, warted, etc.) and included some large specialty pumpkins (over 25 lb) The Jack O’Lantern pumpkins were also grouped as Medium (under 25 lbs) and Large (over 25 lbs). Pumpkins were grown in a no-till, transplanted system, double cropped after winter wheat. Observational harvest data (number of fruit, weight, and notes on color, shape, and other characteristics) were collected for each variety and reported along with photos of each varieties

2018 Pumpkin Variety Trial

This is a compilation of 20 research trial reports from four land-grant universities in the Midwestern United States. Crops include cantaloupe, pickling cucumber, pepper, potato, pumpkin, summer squash and zucchini, sweet corn, tomato, and watermelon. Somecrops were evaluated in high tunnels or hoophouses. Most trials evaluated different cultivars or varieties. One report addressed plant spacing for sweet corn and one addressed soil block for production of tomato seedlings. A list of vegetable seed sources and a list of other online sources of vegetable trial reports are also included

[ES] Tras explicar los antecedentes históricos de la violencia doméstica en Estados Unidos, se analiza el tratamiento jurídico de las víctimas de este tipo de delitos. De esta forma, se examinan las medidas de protección a la víctima, con especial referencia a la mediación judicial y las órdenes de alejamiento, así como los aspectos procesales de las medidas cautelares. Igualmente se realiza una reflexión sobre la Ley de Violencia contra las Mujeres (Violence Against Women Act – VAWA), centrándose en la situación de las mujeres inmigrantes, e indicando los obstáculos a los que éstas se enfrentan.[EU] Estatu Batuetako etxeko indarkeriaren aurrekari historikoak azaldu eta gero, delitu mota honetako kaltedunen trataera juridikoa aztertzen da.
