Economic Analysis of Retirement Homes

Cílem bakalářské práce je provést ekonomické rozbory tří vybraných příspěvkových organizací – domovů pro seniory, představit téma sociální politiky a vytvořit širší rámec, do kterého bude následně zařazen praktický kontext příspěvkových organizací. V teoretické části je představen pojem sociální služby, legislativa, která ji ohraničuje a způsoby financování poskytovatelů sociálních služeb. V další části práce rozebírá příspěvkové organizace z hlediska jejich zřizovatele, tvorby finančních fondů a celkového hospodaření s finančními prostředky. V praktické části jsou na základě popsaných ekonomických a finančních ukazatelů srovnávány tři vybrané domovy pro seniory. Na základě přidělovaných dotací, příspěvků, nákladů a výnosů a jejich dlouhodobého majetku je ukázána jejich ekonomická situace. Výsledkem této bakalářské práce je celková analýza fungování těchto organizací a následné nastínění možných situací, které by jejich provoz mohly ohrozit nebo přímo narušit.The aim of the bachelor thesis is to economicly analyse three selected state-funded institutions – retirement homes, to introduce the subject of social policy and to create a wider framework which will then include the practical context of state-funded institutions. The theoretical part introduces the concept of social services, the legislation that limits it and the ways of financing the social service providers. State-funded institutions in terms of their founder, creation of financial funds and overall financial management will be analysed in the next part of the thesis. In the practical part, based on the described economic and financial indicators, three selected homes for seniors are compared. Based on subsidies, benefits, costs and revenues, and their long-term assets, their economic situation is shown. Changes in the Czech Business Environment by the View of SME Managers

This article shows first of all opinions of SME managers on the changes in the quality of the Czech business environment. The article contains the views of managers identified in 2017 and 2015 and compares them with the detected results in 2010 and 2004. It is interesting that managers reported more opportunities than threats in all years. Because the most of respondents (SME managers) were active in a municipality of up to 2000 residents in villages in southern Moravia their views on the quality of the business environment can be used to assess the competitiveness of the region and to reflect on the relationship between small and medium-sized enterprises and regional development. The paper also documents the applicability of the situational analysis of the external environment in SMEs. But the quality of business environment is evaluated also based on the results of the World Bank and Transparency International for purposes of international comparison in this article. To assess the quality of the business environment was used Corruption Perceptions Index by Transparency International. Czech Republic ranked 37 place with the score 56 in 2015 (score 51 in 2014). Also, World Bank in its results "Doing business 2016" shows improve conditions for business in the Czech Republic.O

Organic Production as a Key for Sustainable Development in Wine Industry in the Czech Republic

The paper describes the environment sector of organic winery in the Czech Republic and finds opportunities for Czech winegrowers to sustain the industry and contribute to its future development. Organic viticulture has changed dramatically. Organically farmed vineyards formed 4.9% share of the total area of vineyards in the Czech Republic in 2011 and 6.1% in 2012. Czech organic wines have much to offer to consumers. They have received many prestigious awards at international competitions; however the foreknowledge of customers about such wines is very low as these are drunk mostly by regular consumers. That is why a change should be made. The popularity of organic wine is expected to grow mainly in the foreign markets. Although the Czech organic wines have already found their consumers, the need for additional marketing activities that will result in expansion of its portfolio of consumers, are required

Consumer Demand for Wine and Beer in the Czech Republic, and Their Mutual Influences

The paper analyses consumer demand for wine and beer in the Czech Republic in the period of 1991–2013. The objective of this research was to evaluate the elasticity of consumption of wine and beer in reaction to a change of prices and further to a change in the level of a household income. Based on the dynamic models of the gross demand for wine and beer there were determined the coefficients of direct and cross price elasticity, and income elasticity coefficients. In accordance with the identified sizes, respectively, after evaluating their statistical significance, there was carried out the economic analysis of observed demand functions. Analysis of demand functions has shown that the consumptions of wine and beer by the Czech households were not linked on a statistically significant level, in the examined period. Dynamic model of the gross demand for wine showed a statistically insignificant sensitivity of wine consumption to a change of the household income. Wine consumption of Czech households was significantly formed only by its price. Dynamic model of the gross demand for beer has shown that beer consumption by the Czech households responded significantly only to change in household income. Whereas in the case of wine, there was identified an influence of previous consumption on the current one, this was not confirmed in the case of beer
