The influence of content of cryptocrystalline graphite of Kureysk Field, activated in a planetary centrifugal mill AGO-2, on the technological properties of mold coatings used for low-pressure die casting and castability of AK12 alloy are researched. It was found that the optimum properties of coating are achieved by the introduction into their composition 15 wt. % of activated graphite. Also it was found that with increasing content of graphite, the castability of AK12 alloy and roughness of castings are decreases. The comparative laboratory and pilot testing of coatings based on natural, enriched and activated graphite showed that coatings based on activated graphite can be recommended for mold

To evaluate the efficiency of Molteno 3 transciliary drainage in the case of diabetic secondary glaucoma. The patient with diabetic secondary glaucoma after vitrectomy and phacik eye. Was made transciliary implantation Molteno 3 drainage with delayed technic. At first day after surgery OD 17‑18 mm Hg of IOP, visual acuity improved to 0.02. Observed a sharp decrease in the caliber of neovascular iris vessels. After 2.5 years follow-up period IOP was 20 Hg of IOP. Specific lens opacities were not observed. Preliminary results of Molteno 3 transciliary drainage show long-term efficiency of this method. Further study of this technique need it to determine theindications and contraindications for this technique

Growth and characterisation studies of eu<inf>3</inf>o<inf>4</inf> thin films grown on si/sio<inf>2</inf> and graphene

We report the growth, structural and magnetic properties of the less studied Eu-oxide phase, Eu3O4, thin films grown on a Si/SiO2 substrate and Si/SiO2/graphene using molecular beam epitaxy. The X-ray diffraction scans show that highly textured crystalline Eu3O4 (001) films are grown on both substrates, whereas the film deposited on graphene has a better crystallinity than that grown on the Si/SiO2 substrate. The SQUID measurements show that both films have a Curie temperature of ∼ 5.5 ± 0.1 K, with a magnetic moment of ∼ 320 emu/cm3 at 2 K. The mixed valence of the Eu cations has been confirmed by the qualitative analysis of the depth-profile X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements with the Eu2+: Eu3+ ratio of 28: 72. However, surprisingly, our films show no metamagnetic behaviour as reported for the bulk and powder form. Furthermore, the microscopic optical images and Raman measurements show that the graphene underlayer remains largely intact after the growth of the Eu3O4 thin films

Peripherally Applied Synthetic Tetrapeptides HAEE and RADD Slow Down the Development of Cerebral β-Amyloidosis in AβPP/PS1 Transgenic Mice

International audienceTwo tetrapeptides, HAEE and RADD, which are ionic-complementary to the primary zinc recognition site of amyloid-(A), have been reported to inhibit zinc-induced dimerization of the A metal-binding domain and slow A aggregation in vitro. In the present study, we investigate the impact of HAEE and RADD on the development of cerebral-amyloidosis in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease. We have found chronic intravenous administration of each peptide results in significant decrease of amyloid plaque burden in the treated mice
