Children\u27s Effortful Control in a Montessori Classroom: Effects of Parenting and Purposeful Work

Research in effortful control is necessary to understand and support children\u27s behaviors in Social and classroom settings (Rimm-Kaufman, Curby, Grimm, Brock, & Nathanson, 2009). This study reviewed literature discussing the relationship between parenting style and effortful control and Montessori philosophy as it relates to the work in practical life. The literature reviewed in this study suggested that parenting style may also be related to a child\u27s effortful control. In addition, it was expected that the work of practical life in a Montessori classroom would positively influence effortful control in children. Using an experimental design, this study examined the efficacy of a Montessori Table Washing Task to prime effortful control in children ages 3-6. The Mischel Marshmallow Test (Mischel & Baker 1975) was used to test effortful control in the children. Children in the control group received only the Marshmallow Test. Children in the experiment group received a Montessori Table Washing Lesson prior to receiving the Marshmallow Test. Although not statistically significant, there was a difference in the groups. However, in this study, there was no correlation found between parenting style and the effortful control of the children. Implications of this study are that practical life work, like a Montessori Table Washing Task, may positively affect effortful control in pre-school age children

Individual Professional Practice in the Company

V práci nejprve informuji o oblasti odborného působení firmy, dále se zabývám technologiemi a nástroji, se kterými jsem během praxe pracoval a také uvádím příklady zadaných úkolů s popisem jejich řešení. V závěru práce hodnotím své znalosti a absolvovanou odbornou praxi jako celek.The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe my work within proffesional practice in the company GIRITON Systems Ltd. The paper first informs about the company’s area of expertise, later it desribes used technologies and tools, with whom I worked during practise. A Tool for Editing and Analyzing P/T Petri Nets

Import 03/11/2016V této práci popisujeme vyvinutý nástroj pro editaci a analýzu P/T Petriho sítí. Systém se skládá ze dvou hlavních součástí: webového grafického editoru a analytického serveru. V úvodu práce stručně probíráme základy teorie Petriho sítí. Dále uvádíme seznam dostupných nástrojů pro práci s Petriho sítěmi společně s jejich popisem. V následujících kapitolách se věnujeme celkové architektuře vytvořeného systému a detailům jeho jednotlivých komponent. Na závěr uvádíme implementované analytické metody, mezi které patří například analýza stavového prostoru, detekce pastí a zámků nebo výpočet P a T invariantů. V rámci metody analýzy stavového prostoru na příkladech demonstrujeme vlastní způsob generování stromu pokrytí a uvádíme, jak jej lze využít při analýze neomezených Petriho sítí.The purpose of this master thesis is to describe a tool developed for editing and analyzing of P/T Petri nets. System consists of two main components: web graphical editor and analysis server. We briefly cover the fundamentals of Petri nets theory in the introduction. Next we mention a list of existing tools along with their description. In the following chapters the overall architecture of developed system is considered and details of its components are described. At the end we mention implemented analysis methods, which include for example state space analysis, traps and cotraps detection or also calculation of P and T invariants. In the context of the state space analysis method we demonstrate on examples our own means for constructing coverability tree and show how it can be used to decide some properties of unbounded Petri nets.460 - Katedra informatikyvýborn

Comparement of results from infiltration tests

Cílem diplomové práce je srovnání výsledků vsakování vody z polních zkoušek, z laboratoře a z numerického modelování na dvou vybraných lokalitách. Prvním úkolem práce je rešeršní činnost popisu obou lokalit a jejich přilehlého území. Práce se dále zaobírá polními zkouškami vsakování založené na využití zarážecích válců, nejprve teoreticky postupy jednotlivých metod, a poté vlastním praktickým měřením v terénu. Dále se z odebraných vzorků zemin provede měření v laboratoři, nejdříve na propustoměrech, a poté se provede zrnitostní zkouška, ze které se pomocí empirických vzorců odvodí hydraulická vodivost. Nakonec se využije numerického modelování a dojde ke srovnání všech výsledků. V závěrečné fázi práce jsou poskytnuta doporučení pro vsakování na jednotlivých lokalitách a srovnání jednotlivých metod vsakování.The aim of this thesis is to compare the results of water infiltration from field tests, from laboratories and from numerical modeling at two selected locations. The first objective is the search procedure and the description of both sites and its adjacent areas. Further work continues with infiltration field tests using ring infiltrometer, at first theoretically for each method, and then practically with own personal measurements in the field. Further from the collected soil samples the measurements are performed in the laboratory, first in the permeameter, and followed by the grain size distribution test, from which the hydraulic conductivity is derived by using empirical formulas. At last the numerical modeling is used and all the results are compared. In the final phase of thesis the recommendations are given for infiltration at various locations and comparsion of the infiltration methods.

Multifunctional center - areal of mine Alexander

Projekt vychází z dvousemestrální studie, a to z Urbanistické studie – ATT III a Studie stavby – ATT IV, a také ze semestrálního vytváření dokumentace pro stavební povolení – ATT Va. i-Star Modeling Tool

Náplň této bakalářské práce spočívá v návrhu a implementaci online softwarového nástroje pro vizuální modelování diagramů modelů cílů, a to pomocí jazyka modelování i-star. Primární funkcionalita, kterou nástroj uživateli zpřístupňuje, je tvorba těchto modelů, jejich editace a následovné vyexportování celého modelu pro budoucí užití. Nástroj podporuje tvorbu modelů cílů na základě dvou metod. Hlavní metodikou je modelování využívající právě jazyka i-star, druhotnou pak tvorba standartních digramů případů užití na základě notace UML. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, kde obsah první časti se zabývá popisem jazyka i-star, cílového modelování a také srovnáním již existujících nástrojů podporující práci s jazykem i*. Druhá část se pak zaměřuje na návrh a implementaci online nástroje s využitím technologií třetích stran.The goal of this bachelor thesis was to design and implement an online software tool, dedicated for working with goal modeling diagrams, using the i-star modelling laguage. Primary functionality of implemented application lies in creation and modification of goal models as well as in ability to export and import existing diagrams. Tool supports modelling based on two distinct methods. The main method is using the i-star modelling language while the other one is based on using standart UML use-case diagrams. Bachelor thesis can be divided into two main parts. The first one deals with the description of i-star language, after that a detailed goal modeling description as a whole and the comparison of the existing i-star capable tools is also mentioned. Creation of Laboratory Task at MV Electrical Station

Diplomová práce se zabývá elektrickými stanicemi obecně a jejich dělením. Dále rozvodnou v těžké laboratoři HARD Katedry elektroenergetiky na VŠB-TUO. Jak název napovídá, jednou z částí práce je tvorba laboratorní úlohy na této rozvodně. Úloha je zaměřena na seznámení s přístrojovým vybavením, manipulacemi a práci s rozvodnou, ale také na měření základních ochranných funkcí digitální ochrany REF620, kterou je tato rozvodna vybavena. Mimo to se v práci zabývám návrhem varianty na přesun rozvodny do nově zbudovaných prostor budovy CEET (Centrum energetických a environmentálních technologií). Při návrhu se zaměřuji zejména na zjednodušení konstrukce a prostorové uspořádání prvků a také na jednoduchý výpočet finanční náročnosti tohoto přesunu.Master thesis deals with electrical substations in general and their division. Then I deal with indoor convetional (none-enclosed) MV switchgear in the HARD heavy laboratory of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering at the VSB-TUO. As the title suggests, one part of the thesis is the creation of a laboratory task on this MV switchgear. The task is aimed at familiarizing with the instrumentation, manipulations and work with the MV switchgear, but also at measuring the basic protection functions of the REF620 digital protection that this substation is equipped with. In addition, the thesis deals with the design of an option for moving the MV svitchgear to the new building of the CEET (Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies). Inspired by examples from the animal kingdom, social sciences and games we propose empowerment, a rather universal function, defined as the information-theoretic capacity of an agent’s actuation channel. The concept applies to any sensorimotoric apparatus. Empowerment as a measure reflects the properties of the apparatus as long as they are observable due to the coupling of sensors and actuators via the environment.Peer reviewe
