Construcción de paz en el posacuerdo: avances, tensiones y desafíos

Este texto presenta investigaciones que, desde las ciencias sociales, aportan evidencia sobre los diferentes desafíos que supone la construcción de paz en el escenario del posacuerdo en Colombia. Soportados por investigaciones cuantitativas y cualitativas, los autores plantean reflexiones teórico-prácticas acerca de fenómenos sociales y políticos ligados a procesos de transición de una cultura de la guerra a una cultura de paz, que anteceden el acuerdo de paz firmado por el Estado colombiano y las Farc-EP en el 2016; además, se socializan estudios sobre actores y procesos políticos vinculados a la implementación temprana del acuerdo, sus avances y obstáculos. Los trabajos compilados delimitan objetos de estudio que profundizan o explican, según el caso, temáticas vinculadas a la construcción de paz en la escala nacional y regional

Undergraduate students’ perceptions of Project-Based Learning (PBL) effectiveness: A case report in the Colombian Caribbean

Differentiated geographical and institutional contexts imply the need to examine the effectiveness of non—conventional approach learning methods in contrast to generalist assumptions. One way is to examine the perceptions of undergraduates of a teaching method applied to specific individuals, geographical contexts, and their relationship to achieving the objectives of the course. This study analysed students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method within the Colombian Caribbean. The study used both Chi-square, Wilcoxon rank sum and independent variable correlation tests in a survey of 340 students in the Economic Development undergraduate course in a total of four cohorts over two years. The students compared the PBL to a traditional teaching method to fulfill the course’s objectives, identifying cross—curricular skills that were considered better and worse during the learning process. It was found that only competencies of Autonomy and Critical Thinking had significant positive perceptions when using the PBL revealing that perceptions of students form a complementary tool that contributes to the analysis of the usefulness of teaching methods in different geographical contexts

Executive functions and Social Cognition in adolescents in the context of Bullying

El Bullying es un fenómeno social contemporáneo que impacta en múltiples estructuras y contextos sociales. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo establecer la asociación entre funciones ejecutivas (FE), cognición social en adolescentes y el bullying. Estudio descriptivo transversal con una muestra de 109 sujetos seleccionados mediante un muestreo por conveniencia. Se realizó una regresión logística multinomial, encontrando que la cognición social es un factor protector (OR: .17 IC 95% .05-.59) (OR: .27 IC 95% .08- .85) en el grupo de los agresores respecto a los controles; así como en el grupo de víctimas respecto a los controles (OR: .15 IC 95% .05 – .42) (OR: .30 IC 95% (.11- .82). De esta manera, una adecuada cognición social se asocia como un factor protector ante el bullying y el presentar déficits en las FE se asocia a un incremento del riesgo de tres veces de padecerlo.Bullying is a contemporary social phenomenon that impacts multiple social structures and contexts. This study aimed to establish the association between executive functions (EF) and social cognition in adolescents. A cross-sectional descriptive study with a sample of 109 subjects was selected by convenience sampling. Multinomial logistic regression was performed, finding that social cognition is a protective factor (OR: 0.17 IC 95% 0.05-0.59) (OR: 0.27 IC 95% 0.08- 0.85) in the group of aggressors to controls; in addition, the group of victims to controls (OR: 0.15 IC 95% 0.05 – 0.42) (OR: 0.30 IC 95% (0.11- 0.82). Thus, adequate social cognition is associated as a protective factor against bullying, and presenting deficits in EF is associated with a threefold increased risk of bullying
