Turbo EP-based Equalization: a Filter-Type Implementation

This manuscript has been submitted to Transactions on Communications on September 7, 2017; revised on January 10, 2018 and March 27, 2018; and accepted on April 25, 2018 We propose a novel filter-type equalizer to improve the solution of the linear minimum-mean squared-error (LMMSE) turbo equalizer, with computational complexity constrained to be quadratic in the filter length. When high-order modulations and/or large memory channels are used the optimal BCJR equalizer is unavailable, due to its computational complexity. In this scenario, the filter-type LMMSE turbo equalization exhibits a good performance compared to other approximations. In this paper, we show that this solution can be significantly improved by using expectation propagation (EP) in the estimation of the a posteriori probabilities. First, it yields a more accurate estimation of the extrinsic distribution to be sent to the channel decoder. Second, compared to other solutions based on EP the computational complexity of the proposed solution is constrained to be quadratic in the length of the finite impulse response (FIR). In addition, we review previous EP-based turbo equalization implementations. Instead of considering default uniform priors we exploit the outputs of the decoder. Some simulation results are included to show that this new EP-based filter remarkably outperforms the turbo approach of previous versions of the EP algorithm and also improves the LMMSE solution, with and without turbo equalization

The coin value and typology is studied as well as the influence of foreign currency on Castilian accounts.En este trabajo se pasa revista a la moneda que circulaba en Castilla en la época en que se constituyó por el Cardenal Cisneros la Universidad Complutense y se realizó la gran obra de la Biblia Políglota, especificando los cambios tipológicos y de valor de todas las piezas, así como la influencia de las monedas extranjeras en las cuentas castellanas

Los calendarios propios de los regímenes totalitarios en el período de entreguerras. La doble datación en la documentación oficial del “bando nacional” durante la guerra civil española (1936-1939)

En este artículo se trata el problema de las “dataciones alternativas” en Europa en la primera mitad del siglo XX, en especial en el llamado período de entreguerras, donde los regímenes autoritarios o totalitarios buscaron individualizarse a través de una datación específica. Así veremos las nuevas dataciones surgidas de revoluciones políticas, como la soviética en Rusia y la fascista en Italia, para luego centrarnos en la doble datación de la documentación oficial del “bando nacional” durante la Guerra Civil (Año Triunfal) y tras su finalización (Año de la Victoria), a través de la normativa aprobada en el BOE y su plasmación en la documentación oficial, como pudo ser el caso de la moneda metálica y de papel.This article deals with the problem of “alternative datings” in Europe in the first half of the 20th century, particularly in the period between wars, where totalitarian or authoritarian regimes tried to distinguish themselves through an specific dating. So we’ll see the new datings arised from politic revolutions as the soviet in Russia and the fascist in Italy and later we’ll focus in the double dating of the official documents of the “bando nacional” (national camp) during the Civil War (Año Triunfal) and after its ending (Año de la Victoria) throughout the regulations approved in the BOE and its expression in the official documentation, as could have happened with the currency, coins and notes
