Superconducting fluctuations for three-dimensional anisotropic superconductors in the presence of a magnetic field with arbitrary direction

    Get PDF
A nonperturbative method for evaluation of thermodynamic scaling functions in the critical region of type-II superconductors, appropriate for high-temperature superconductors, is extended for the case of external magnetic fields with arbitrary angles with respect to the c axis for the case of three-dimensional anisotropic superconductors. An explicit scaling function for the magnetization is presented, discussed, and compared with experimental data from measurements with applied fields along the ab planes56106114611

STABILITY OF FERROMAGNETIC MONOLAYER OF FE IN CU(001) AND PD(001)

The electronic structure of a monolayer of Fe grown on Cu(001) and on Pd(001) surfaces is calculated from first principles. It is argued, on the basis of total energy calculations, that this is one possible way of stabilizing a ferromagnetic phase of gamma-Fe. Comparison with experiments shows good agreement in the case of a monolayer of Fe in Cu. The reasons for this stability are shown to be mainly dominated by the size of the host.13941671333

    Superconducting vortex fluctuations in YBa2Cu3O7-delta

    No full text
Measurements of magnetization in YBa2Cu3O7-delta single crystals were performed for applied fields H parallel and perpendicular to the ab planes. The data show a temperature T = T* at which the magnetization M(T*) is independent of the applied field. This result is interpreted as due to vortex fluctuations of an anisotropic 3-D superconductor.2574167117317

SUPERCONDUCTING DIAMAGNETIC FLUCTUATIONS FOR H-II-AB PLANES IN YBA2CU3O7-DELTA FOR FIELD UP TO 5-T

    No full text
Magnetic measurements for a twin-aligned single crystal of YBa2CU307-delta were performed from 80 K to 200 K for fixed applied fields (H) up to 5T, parallel to the ab planes of the crystal. Magnetic fields, from 0.05 T to 1 T, produced isofield M vs T curves which exhibit sharp transitions that unambiguously identify T(C). Above H = 2 T, a field-enhanced rounding starts to appear in the isofield M vs T curves. This rounding effect in the vicinity of T(C) is interpreted as due to high field-induced fluctuations in the 3D order parameter. By using an appropriate scaling, the DELTAT fluctuation regions for H = 2, 3 T are obtained.901064765

EVIDENCE FOR VORTEX FLUCTUATIONS IN YBA2CU3O7-DELTA

We present isothermal magnetization measurements (M,T) for YBa2Cu3O7-delta single crystals with parallel and perpendicular to the ab planes. The (M,T) curves show temperatures T = T-* at which the magnetization M(T-*) is independent of the applied field. The results are interpreted as due to vortex fluctuations of an anisotropic 3-D superconductor.23531919192
