Fundamental and technical analysis is used by analysis to predict the trend of stock price and trading volume. Studies conducted aimed to determine the effect of fundamental analysis to technical analysis. Combining two forms of analysis can produce a more accurate prediction of the stock price movement of listed cement companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Research experts indicate that the fundamental and technical analysis can be used independently with the ability to predict stock price movements. This study combines both analysis in a model that can provide a more robust predictive capability in the Company's share price movements of cement. Fundamental analysis is the economy wide scope, one of the predictions of financial performance. In this study the total asset turnover, return on assets and return on equity to determine which stocks are pretty good. While technical analysis is used accumulation distribution line that has a better ability to predict future stock prices because the data contained technical stock price and trading volume to determine when to buy and sell momentum. These results indicate that the total asset turnover, return on assets and return on equity significantly influence the accumulation distribution line. While the individual that the return on equity has no significant effect. The results of this study are expected to improve knowledge for the readers, especially investors in order to obtain optimal benefits

Attitudes to animals have been extensively studied for people in developed countries, but not for those in developing countries. The attitudes of prospective stakeholders in the livestock sectors in south-east and east Asia toward transport and slaughter were examined by surveying university students studying veterinary medicine and animal science in Malaysia, Thailand, China and Vietnam, with a total of 739 students taking part. Students had greater acceptability of transport than slaughter issues for livestock, and female students found most transport and slaughter issues of greater concern than male students. Veterinary students were more accepting of several issues than animal science students, in particular killing animals that were injured or ill. Religion had a major effect on attitudes. Muslim students found using animals that died naturally for products least acceptable. Compared to them, Hindu students were less accepting of killing injured or ill animals and Buddhist students less accepting of euthanasing healthy pets. Students with more experience of pets were less accepting of both transport and slaughter issues. It is concluded that concern was exhibited by future stakeholders in the SE and E Asian livestock industries for slaughter and, to a lesser extent, transport issues, although attitudes were influenced by their religion, gender and experience of pet-keeping

Rubber seeds have no dormancy, germinate rapidly and fungal growth is the limiting factor influencing storage period of seed viability. Solution of Polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) have osmotic potential and osmotic adjustment that is used as a coating material is expected to be a preservative during storage. The purpose of this study was to test the effect of polyethylene glycol 6000 in inducing secondary dormancy by reducing the seeds germination and fungus growth to maintain the seed viability in storage period and to test seed viability and vigor after storage period. First stage of the study was using nonfactorial completely randomized design with four levels of polyethylene glycol with four replications, namely:PEG 6000 (w / v): 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%; The second step, was germination phase in germination tub after the storage period. The first study showed that concentration of 15% PEG 6000 to 45% were able to induced secondary dormancy by delaying seed germination from 0.67% to 0.33%, that significantly different from the 0% PEG 6000 (17.67%) that was able to reduced fungal seed from 16.33 to 26.33% andwas not significantly different in each treatment. The second study showed that PEG 6000 can maintain viability and vigor of seeds with seed germination above 97%, seedlings height 22.40 cm and number of leaves was 7.16. PEG 30% is the best concentration to increase the shelf life period of rubber seed andmaintained morphological characteristics after storage period. The higher the concentration of PEG 6000 the higher were the seed viability during shelf. The morphology and growth of the seedlings, had the same adaptability to the tub germination in planting medium

OBJECTIVE: To compare the validity of a modified Block food-frequency questionnaire (FFQ), a picture-sort administration of the FFQ (PSFFQ) and a meal pattern-based questionnaire (MPQ) in a multi-ethnic population of low socio-economic status (SES). DESIGN: Participants completed six 24-hour dietary recalls (24HR) over six months; the FFQ, PSFFQ and MPQ were completed in random order in the subsequent month. Instruments were interviewer-administered. The PSFFQ and MPQ were developed in formative research concerning difficulties for older adults in responding to standard food-frequency instruments. SETTING: Rural North Carolina, USA. Subjects One hundred and twenty-two African American, Native American and white adults aged > or = 65 years, with approximately one-third in each ethnic group. Inclusion criteria included education < or = 12 years and income < or = 150% of national poverty level or Medicaid recipient. RESULTS: Comparing median intakes from the average of the 24HR with the three diet assessment instruments, the MPQ tended to overestimate intakes compared with the FFQ and PSFFQ. Correlations among nutrients obtained by the 24HR and the other three instruments were generally statistically significant and positive. Across nutrients, the PSFFQ was most highly correlated with the 24HR for women, while the FFQ was most highly correlated with the 24HR for men. CONCLUSIONS: Dietary assessments using 24HR and FFQ were similar to results reported elsewhere, although correlations between 24HR and FFQ were somewhat lower. Interviewer-administered dietary assessments should be used with caution to evaluate dietary intake among older adults with low SES. Gender differences and the lower correlations should be investigated more thoroughly to assist in choosing dietary assessment instruments for this population

    Graphene Nano-, Micro-and Macro-Photonics

ABSTRACT Graphene has already become an established medium for novel photonic devices and their applications. In some cases, e.g. the use of graphene as a non-linear medium with saturable absorption properties, it is experimentally convenient to use the readily available form that is known as graphene oxide. Moreover, technological and scientific developments that are advancing control of the properties of graphene for electronic applications are also likely to be applicable in photonic and optoelectronic devices. This presentation will review research in the field of graphene photonics across the world. It will address, in particular, its application as a saturable absorber, e.g. for pulsed operation of fibre lasers -as well as work on materials characterisation of deposited graphene films. Patterning of graphene films with precision at the microand nano-scales will be an important requirement -and will be considered in this presentation

Abstract

Background

Despite growing number of intraocular lens power calculation formulas, there is no evidence that these formulas have good predictive accuracy in pediatric, whose eyes are still undergoing rapid growth and refractive changes. This study is intended to compare the prediction error and the accuracy of predictability of intraocular lens power calculation in pediatric patients at 3 month post cataract surgery with primary implantation of an intraocular lens using SRK II versus Pediatric IOL Calculator for pediatric intraocular lens calculation. Pediatric IOL Calculator is a modification of SRK II using Holladay algorithm. This program attempts to predict the refraction of a pseudophakic child as he grows, using a Holladay algorithm model. This model is based on refraction measurements of pediatric aphakic eyes. Pediatric IOL Calculator uses computer software for intraocular lens calculation.

Methods

This comparative study consists of 31 eyes (24 patients) that successfully underwent cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantations. All patients were 12 years old and below (range: 4 months to 12 years old). Patients were randomized into 2 groups; SRK II group and Pediatric IOL Calculator group using envelope technique sampling procedure. Intraocular lens power calculations were made using either SRK II or Pediatric IOL Calculator for pediatric intraocular lens calculation based on the printed technique selected for every patient. Thirteen patients were assigned for SRK II group and another 11 patients for Pediatric IOL Calculator group. For SRK II group, the predicted postoperative refraction is based on the patient's axial length and is aimed for emmetropic at the time of surgery. However for Pediatric IOL Calculator group, the predicted postoperative refraction is aimed for emmetropic spherical equivalent at age 2 years old. The postoperative refractive outcome was taken as the spherical equivalent of the refraction at 3 month postoperative follow-up. The data were analysed to compare the mean prediction error and the accuracy of predictability of intraocular lens power calculation between SRK II and Pediatric IOL Calculator.

Results

There were 16 eyes in SRK II group and 15 eyes in Pediatric IOL Calculator group. The mean prediction error in the SRK II group was 1.03 D (SD, 0.69 D) while in Pediatric IOL Calculator group was 1.14 D (SD, 1.19 D). The SRK II group showed lower prediction error of 0.11 D compared to Pediatric IOL Calculator group, but this was not statistically significant (p = 0.74). There were 3 eyes (18.75%) in SRK II group achieved acccurate predictability where the refraction postoperatively was within ± 0.5 D from predicted refraction compared to 7 eyes (46.67%) in the Pediatric IOL Calculator group. However the difference of the accuracy of predictability of postoperative refraction between the two formulas was also not statistically significant (p = 0.097).

Conclusions

The prediction error and the accuracy of predictability of postoperative refraction in pediatric cataract surgery are comparable between SRK II and Pediatric IOL Calculator. The existence of the Pediatric IOL Calculator provides an alternative to the ophthalmologist for intraocular lens calculation in pediatric patients. Relatively small sample size and unequal distribution of patients especially the younger children (less than 3 years) with a short time follow-up (3 months), considering spherical equivalent only.</p
