We rehabilitate the M_1(C)+ M_2(C)+ M_3(C) model of electro-magnetic, weak and strong forces as an almost commutative geometry in the setting of the spectral action.Comment: 12 pages LaTe

    Perturbations to the Hubble diagram

We compute the linear responses of the Hubble diagram to small scalar perturbations in the Robertson-Walker metric and to small peculiar velocities of emitter and receiver. We discuss the monotonicity constraint of the Hubble diagram in the light of these responses.Comment: 9 pages LaTeX, no figur

Einstein-Cartan, Bianchi I and the Hubble Diagram

We try to solve the dark matter problem in the fit between theory and the Hubble diagram of supernovae by allowing for torsion via Einstein-Cartan's gravity and for anisotropy via the axial Bianchi I metric. Otherwise we are conservative and admit only the cosmological constant and dust. The failure of our model is quantified by the relative amount of dust in our best fit: Omega_{m0}= 27 % +/- 5 % at 1 sigma level.Comment: 11 pages, 1 figur

Soils of the Syrian Mid-Euphrates region with particular reference to gypsiferous soils and their influence upon agriculturall development

    Get PDF
The agricultural economy of Syria depends to a considerable extent on the use of the land along the river Euphrates. This land is fairly flat and should, therefore, be easy to cultivate, furthermore, since the river drains the better watered catchment outside the area, the problem of irrigation should not be insuperable. This should be all the more effective following the construction of the Euphrates dam. The increasing population makes it necessary to extend all the agriculturally usable areas, but above all else it is imperative to help the local and nomadic peoples to settle, sad to provide an opportunity for development within the study area, uhich lies in the middle reaches of the Syrian Euphrates. The thesis will deal mainly with the nature and characteristics of the saline, and particularly the gypaiferous soils which are associated with any such development. An account will be given of the field survey undertaken during the period 196l»197ii. Other aspects to be considered are the relationship between soils and plant life, the influence of landscape on soil dynamics, and the reclamation of land for agricultural development. Any possible development within the study area faces major problems, one of which i3 the excessive salinity or, more specifically the gypsiferous nature of the soils, which affects plant growth and consequently limits human activity. To contribute towards a solution of the area's problems, work Was started in 1161 on the measurement and collection of information on the presence and nature of salinity, together with relevant data concerning climate, hydrology, vegetation cover and other soil properties. It was also necessary to review literature concerned with the control of analogous problems in other arid areas. Part One illustrates the point that the saline soils occupy a large part of the country. The study area is situated mainly within this saline region, and the factors affecting the formation of the soil are discussed. The distribution of important soil properties occupies a major proportion of this part, over several related subsections . Part Two gives details of the vegetation cover and the general nature of the soil groups, the distribution of soil properties and soil profile descriptions. The classification of the soils is based on U.S.D.A. w7th Approximation11 and FAO-Unesco schemes. These two parts lead into the third, which deals with the gypsiferous and other saline soils in detail. From an agricultural and engineering point of view, the most important and most dangerous problems affecting the area concern these soils. Finally, Part Four, discusses the soil productivity, the irrigation network, and the field experiments on leaching. In addition, land reclamation is discussed, and recommendations are made for land use and the development of agriculture and settlement far local and nomadic people

Unsupervised detection of coordinated fake-follower campaigns on social media

Automated social media accounts, known as bots, are increasingly recognized as key tools for manipulative online activities. These activities can stem from coordination among several accounts and these automated campaigns can manipulate social network structure by following other accounts, amplifying their content, and posting messages to spam online discourse. In this study, we present a novel unsupervised detection method designed to target a specific category of malicious accounts designed to manipulate user metrics such as online popularity. Our framework identifies anomalous following patterns among all the followers of a social media account. Through the analysis of a large number of accounts on the Twitter platform (rebranded as Twitter after the acquisition of Elon Musk), we demonstrate that irregular following patterns are prevalent and are indicative of automated fake accounts. Notably, we find that these detected groups of anomalous followers exhibit consistent behavior across multiple accounts. This observation, combined with the computational efficiency of our proposed approach, makes it a valuable tool for investigating large-scale coordinated manipulation campaigns on social media platforms.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figures, 1 table and supplementary informatio

    Get PDF

Detection of static eccentricity fault in PSH induction motor by using external magnetic flux density

    Get PDF
The objective of this paper is to make a clear and thorough investigation about the effectiveness of Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) for detecting default indexes of static eccentricity in (Principal Slot Harmonics) PSH induction motor. The obtained results using traditional technique (MCSA) are compared with spectrums of external magnetic flux density extracted from healthy and faulty motors. The work is carried out with transient finite element method (FEM) simulations considering motor operation under nominal mechanical load, the notching nature of stator and rotor and the non-linearity behavior of ferromagnetic material are taking into account. Keywords: induction motor; static eccentricity; FEM, PSH; MCSA; magnetic flux densit

    Get PDF

Novelistic space is considered as one of the most important component of a novel, and it is linked with it by a really strong connection, that makes us say that there is no novel if there is no space, and it is the reason of the existence of this novel The novelistic space took three forms which were the center of studies and it is :Geographical space, textual space, and the space as a narrative vision, which we worked to apply it on these four novels written by the Algerian novelist, short story writer« Waciny Laredj » : Protector of the Shadows,Balconies of the North Sea,The Jasmine Necklace,The Prince’s Book, and he is trying to reveal the method of construction of the three shapes we mentioned before in these novels
