Kinetic and Mechanistic Investigation of Asymmetric Organocatalytic Reactions

    No full text
The utilisation of the reaction progress kinetic methodology to advance the mechanistic understanding of the asymmetric proline catalysed aldol and α-aminoxylation reactions is demonstrated in this work. Mechanistically meaningful reaction rate laws that describe the catalytic cycles of these reactions are derived experimentally, using initially the power law driving force analysis. With the aid of the employed kinetic methodology it is shown that the processes occurring on the catalytic cycle can be deconvoluted from the influence of the reactions occurring off the cycle, and each may be studied separately. It is also shown that the synergetic efforts of experimental kinetic and spectroscopic studies are capable of suggesting and ultimately disclosing the role of additives in these reactions and understanding of catalyst deactivation pathways. In order to obtain more support towards the kinetically derived mechanistic implications, kinetic isotope studies of the aldol reaction were performed. Experimental kinetic data fit to the derived rate model helped to assess and refine the proposed mechanism of the aldol reaction in a quantitative manner and consider other factors that potentially may affect the reaction. The rationalisation of the difference in kinetic behaviour of the aldol and a- aminoxylation reactions is discussed. The proposed elucidation is also supported by reaction simulations performed using COPASI simulation software

Professional Longevity as a Problem of the Value-Semantic Regulation of Teacher Activity

    No full text
The aim of this research is to establish proper external and internal conditions for conducting pedagogical activity that reveal the value basis of professional education. The research justifies the need to analyse the guidelines of a person’s professional self-identity, contents of professional activity motivation, peculiarities of maintaining the mental and physical health of a person, and the capacity of an educational institution’s organisational culture. A number of indicators of value mechanisms of a teacher’s professional longevity is revealed. A diagnostic program of the project, aimed at studying the value content of a teacher’s behaviour strategies during the process of professional activity, was designed. The content of the hypothesis is connected with the assumption of value-semantic inter-conditionality of professional longevity. The research revealed significant interrelations of professional longevity with some psychological factors of value-semantic nature. Analysis of the organisational culture of an educational institution as a factor providing (preventing) the professional longevity of a teacher was carried out. The dominant tendency of describing the interconnection between an educational institution’s organisational culture and the level of emotional burnout syndrome of teachers working within certain cultural models is revealed

Value-semantic factors of teachers’ professional growth in the context of the longevity problem

The article discusses the study results of the Russian teachers’ professional longevity. The authors try to highlight the role of value-semantic factors that determine the teacher’s orientation to the productive extension of his professional path beyond the retirement age. The study results, in particular, the analysis of data from in-depth interviews with teachers of retirement age (n = 40) allows us to assert a significant contribution of value-semantic factors to the overall picture of the process of a teacher’s transition to the post-professional period of his life. In particular, three main transition strategies are identified: 1. Postponement; 2. Smooth transition; 3. Forced finish. Each strategy corresponds to a certain type of indicators of a value-semantic nature: attitude to health, attitude to the level of one’s professional efficiency, combining professional and personal goals. There is a high diagnostic value of the metaphor method in the study of the respondents’ professional path

There are description of specific social-psychological adaptation through using of the individual peculiarities of adaptation strategies and building a repertoire of social roles. The reseach also examines aggressive behavior, which we treat as a violation of the rights of others and bringing them damage, leading to the destruction of interpersonal relationships and social problems of the individual. Aggressive behavior is one of the early signs of maladaptive personality.
