Efficacy of nucleoside analogues on hepatitis B virus-related liver failure: A network meta-analysis

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of nucleoside analogues (NAs) in the treatment of HBV-related liver failure. The data of patients with HBV-related liver failure treated with nucleoside analogues were used to conduct a network meta-analysis. A total of 1660 patients from 12 articles about the efficacy of lamivudine, entecavir, telbivudine and tenofovir for HBV-related liver failure treatment were recruited in the study. The highest two- and three-month survival rate was recorded for patients using tenofovir. The end-stage liver disease (MELD) score and mortality in patients undergoing tenofovir treatment were the lowest. Patients treated with telbivudine had the highest one-month survival rate. Patients receiving enticavir therapy showed the lowest HBV DNA level. Our results indicate that tenofovir may be the best therapy for the treatment of HBV-related liver failure compared to other nucleoside analogues (including lamivudine, entecavir and telbivudine) and non-NAs treatment

LHC Search of New Higgs Boson via Resonant Di-Higgs Production with Decays into 4W

Searching for new Higgs particle beyond the observed light Higgs boson h(125GeV) will unambiguously point to new physics beyond the standard model. We study the resonant production of a CP-even heavy Higgs state H0H^0 in the di-Higgs channel via, ggH0h0h0WWWWgg\to H^0\to h^0h^0\to WW^*WW^*, at the LHC Run-2 and the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). We analyze two types of the 4W4W decay modes, one with the same-sign di-leptons (4W±ν±ν4q4W\to\ell^\pm\nu\ell^\pm\nu 4q) and the other with tri-leptons (4W±νν±ν2q4W\to\ell^\pm\nu\ell^\mp\nu\ell^\pm\nu 2q). We perform a full simulation for the signals and backgrounds, and estimate the discovery potential of the heavy Higgs state at the LHC Run-2 and the HL-LHC, in the context of generical two-Higgs-doublet models (2HDM). We determine the viable parameter space of the 2HDM as allowed by the theoretical constraints and the current experimental limits. We systematically analyze the allowed parameter space of the 2HDM which can be effectively probed by the heavy Higgs searches of the LHC, and further compare this with the viable parameter region under the current theoretical and experimental bounds.Comment: v3: JHEP published version, 34pp, 10 Figs(36 plots) and 9 Tables. Strip twisted electrospun nanofiber yarns: Structural effects on tensile properties

Nanofiber yarns with controlled twist levels were prepared by twisting a narrow fibrous strip cut directly from electrospun nanofiber mats. The effects of fiber morphology, diameter and orientation, as well as the yarn twist level on the yarn tensile properties were examined. For the yarns made from randomly oriented fine uniform nanofibers (e.g., diameter 359 nm) and beaded nanofibers, the tensile strength increased with increasing the yarn twist level. Higher fiber diameter (e.g., 634 nm) led to the tensile strength having an initial increase and then decrease trend. The modulus increased with the twist level for all the yarns studied. However, the elongation at break increased initially with the twist level and subsequently decreased. The orientation of aligned fibers within the fiber strip greatly influenced the yarn tensile properties. When the fibers were oriented along the fiber length direction, both tensile strength and modulus were the largest

Preparation and Properties of Fe3O4 Biomimetic Micro-nano Structure Coatings

    Get PDF
Nanoparticles filling is one of the most effective methods to build the micro-nano structure. In this paper, the composite coatings containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared from fluorinated silicon polymer by in-situ polymerization. FT-IR was used to characterize the structure of the composite material. SEM and AFM were performed to observe the microstructure of the coatings. The contact angle of water and coatings was tested. The results showed that the biomimetic micro-nano structure of the coatings, which formed on the glass plate, was exactly familiar with that of the surface of lotus leaves. We study the existence of weak solutions for a degenerate p(x)-Laplace equation. The main tool used is the variational method, more precisely, the Mountain Pass Theorem
