Since the turn of the twenty-first century, digitalisation has gained widespread acceptance as a powerful tool for socioeconomic and environmental progress. Agricultural and Rural Digitalization (ARD) has been less researched than urban digitalisation, which received the most public interest. In this study, I addressed the advantages and significance of Agricultural and Rural Digitalization for regional sustainable development; and how our work can address the present implementation-related issues. The Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) is an important indicator utilised to summarise digital performance in the European Union, and it is used in this research to assess the development of digitalisation. I made a comparison study to address the current issue and underline the relevance of agricultural and rural digitalisation by analysing official documents. Digitalisation proved to impact sustainable rural development positively, and a monitoring system can be used to produce policy-oriented recommendations. Our research aided people’s understanding of China’s program for smart and digital rural areas and provided policymakers with alternative strategies between China and the European Union when they needed a reference on the development of digital rural areas

Learning Driver Models for Automated Vehicles via Knowledge Sharing and Personalization

This paper describes a framework for learning Automated Vehicles (AVs) driver models via knowledge sharing between vehicles and personalization. The innate variability in the transportation system makes it exceptionally challenging to expose AVs to all possible driving scenarios during empirical experimentation or testing. Consequently, AVs could be blind to certain encounters that are deemed detrimental to their safe and efficient operation. It is then critical to share knowledge across AVs that increase exposure to driving scenarios occurring in the real world. This paper explores a method to collaboratively train a driver model by sharing knowledge and borrowing strength across vehicles while retaining a personalized model tailored to the vehicle's unique conditions and properties. Our model brings a federated learning approach to collaborate between multiple vehicles while circumventing the need to share raw data between them. We showcase our method's performance in experimental simulations. Such an approach to learning finds several applications across transportation engineering including intelligent transportation systems, traffic management, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication. With the advent of the digital era in the middle of the 20th century and the German government's introduction of Industry 4.0 in 2011, conventional industries shifted into an economy built on massive Internet and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The ICTs such as big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile devices, artificial intelligence, 5G network, etc., are not only being used in a variety of businesses but also by an increasing number of people globally. There is no doubt that the use of digital technology in a variety of sectors has effectively increased productivity and decreased costs. Digital agriculture is one of the logical conclusions of Industry 4.0 growth. However, implementing ICT in agriculture may be severely hampered by the risks associated with digital agriculture. One of the main obstacles is unclear Digital Agricultural Education (DAE), a market gap formed by the explosive rise of digital agriculture but with little research. In this exploratory study, we used content analysis as a research methodology, aimed to comprehend Hungary's efforts in digital agriculture education and investigate the challenges by presenting practical examples

Giant superficial angiomyxoma of the male perineum: A case report

Superficial angiomyxoma (SA) is a rare benign tumor that occurs either in the superficial dermis or subcutaneously. It often occurs in the trunk, neck, or limbs, and grows slowly. The diameter of the tumor is usually less than 5 cm. A giant SA of the perineum in men is very rare. We detailed the diagnosis and treatment of male patients with perineal SA and performed a literature review. We report a case of a 42-year-old male patient. He was admitted to hospital with a perineal mass found more than 1 year previously. A pelvic contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan in our hospital suggests that a round slightly hypointense foci of about 6.0 cm × 8.6 cm × 4.5 cm in size with still clear borders was seen below the penile corpus cavernosum in the perineum. We performed a perineal mass excision under continuous epidural anesthesia. A postoperative pathology report diagnosed perineal SA. There was no recurrence at follow-up for 27 months up to May 2022. Perineal SA is rare and should be combined with patient history and imaging to ensure complete excision of the mass margins. Adherence to long-term postoperative follow-up is the key to curing this case

Postulujemy, aby wszystkie kraje, regiony i jednostki podjęły wspólne starania na rzecz osiągnięcia zrównoważonego rozwoju naszej planety z myślą o obecnym i przyszłych pokoleniach

Seismic Responses of a Cable-Stayed Bridge with Consideration of Uniform Temperature Load

    No full text
The effects of temperature load on the dynamic responses of cable-stayed bridges have attracted the attention of researchers in recent years. However, these investigations mainly focus on the influence of temperature on the dynamic characteristics of structures, such as vibration mode and frequency. This paper discusses the effects of uniform temperature changes on the seismic responses of a cable-stayed bridge. A three dimensional finite element model of a cable-stayed bridge using OpenSees is established for nonlinear time history analysis, and uniform temperature load is applied to the prototype bridge before the conducting of seismic excitation. Three ground motion records are selected from the PEER strong motion database based on the design spectrum. Case studies are then performed considering the varying temperature and the connections between the deck and pylons of the bridge. The result shows that the seismic responses of the bridge are significantly increased with the consideration of temperature load. Meanwhile, the types between the deck and pylon also have notable impacts on the seismic responses of the bridge with and without temperature changes. This research could provide a reference for designers during the design phase of cable-stayed brides

This manuscript version is made available under the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/This paper is concerned with the problem of stochastic synchronization for semi-Markovian jump chaotic Lur’e systems. Firstly, packet dropouts and multiple sampling periods are both considered. By input-delay approach and then fully considering the probability distribution characteristic of packet dropouts in the modeling, the original system is transformed to a stochastic time-delay system. Secondly, by getting the utmost out of the usable information on the actual sampling pattern, the probability distribution values of stochastic delay taking values in m given intervals can be explicitly obtained. Then, a newly augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed. Based on that, some sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are derived to ensure the stochastic stability of the error system, and thus, the master system stochastically synchronize with the slave system. Finally, the effectiveness and potential of the obtained results is verified by a simulation example. This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grant(No. 61533006, 61703060, 11601474 and 11461082), Opening Fund of Geomathematics Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province (scsxdz201704), and Research fund for International Young Scientists of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC Grant No. 61550110248), and NSERC Canada
