    What Affects Chinese Residents’ Perceptions of Climate Change?

    The theme of global sustainable development has changed from environmental management to climate governance, and relevant policies on climate governance urgently need to be implemented by the public. The public understanding of climate change has become the prerequisite and basis for implementing various climate change policies. In order to explore the affected factors of climate change perception among Chinese residents, this study was conducted across 31 provinces and regions of China through field household surveys and interviews. Combined with the residents&rsquo; perception of climate change with the possible affected factors, the related factors affecting Chinese residents&rsquo; perception of climate change were explored. The results show that the perceptive level of climate change of Chinese residents is related to the education level and the household size of residents. Improving public awareness of climate change risk in the context of climate change through multiple channels will also help to improve residents&rsquo; awareness of climate change. On the premise of improving the level of national education, improving education on climate change in school education and raising awareness of climate change risk among dependents will help to improve the level of Chinese residents&rsquo; awareness of climate change, which could be instrumental in promoting public participation in climate change mitigation an dadaptation actions</p

    Anion Dependent Self-Assembly of Polynuclear Cd-Ln Schiff Base Nanoclusters: NIR Luminescent Sensing of Nitro Explosives

    Two types of polynuclear Cd-Ln complexes [CdLnL(NO3)Cl2(DMF)2] [Ln = La (1) and Nd (2)] and [Ln2CdL2(NO3)2(DMF)2](OH)2 [Ln = La (3) and Nd (4)] were constructed using a new Schiff base ligand which has a long backbone with two phenyl groups. The Schiff base ligands show a “twist” configuration in 1–4. The crystal structures show that the molecular dimensions of 3 and 4 are about 6 × 10 × 15 Å. The Cd-Nd complexes 2 and 4 exhibit the typical NIR luminescence of Nd3+. Interestingly, 4 shows the luminescent sensing of nitro explosives and exhibits a high sensitivity to 2-nitrophenol at the ppm level

    Electroceramics for High-Energy Density Capacitors: Current Status and Future Perspectives

    Materials exhibiting high energy/power density are currently needed to meet the growing demand of portable electronics, electric vehicles and large-scale energy storage devices. The highest energy densities are achieved for fuel cells, batteries, and supercapacitors, but conventional dielectric capacitors are receiving increased attention for pulsed power applications due to their high power density and their fast charge–discharge speed. The key to high energy density in dielectric capacitors is a large maximum but small remanent (zero in the case of linear dielectrics) polarization and a high electric breakdown strength. Polymer dielectric capacitors offer high power/energy density for applications at room temperature, but above 100 °C they are unreliable and suffer from dielectric breakdown. For high-temperature applications, therefore, dielectric ceramics are the only feasible alternative. Lead-based ceramics such as La-doped lead zirconate titanate exhibit good energy storage properties, but their toxicity raises concern over their use in consumer applications, where capacitors are exclusively lead free. Lead-free compositions with superior power density are thus required. In this paper, we introduce the fundamental principles of energy storage in dielectrics. We discuss key factors to improve energy storage properties such as the control of local structure, phase assemblage, dielectric layer thickness, microstructure, conductivity, and electrical homogeneity through the choice of base systems, dopants, and alloying additions, followed by a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art. Finally, we comment on the future requirements for new materials in high power/energy density capacitor applications

    5. Salka aequilonga Lin & Zhang sp. nov. (Figs 1q–t, 7) Description. Crown gray with a large blurred brown patch, coronal suture developed, exceeding mid-length. Eyes gray. Face slightly flat in profile. Other features as in generic description (Figs 1q, r, s, t). Male 2S abdominal apodemes extending to posterior margin of sternite III (Fig. 7b). Anal tube with well sclerotized dorsal ring on distal region (Fig. 7a). Pygofer dorsal appendage bifurcated medially, lower branch much shorter than upper branch, ventral appendage long, slender and bent posterad beyond midlength, with apex distinctly surpassing posterior margin of pygofer lobe (Figs 7a, c, d); 2 macrosetae and several microsetae around dorsal appendage scattered on pygofer side, with group of relatively long, stout setae at cephalo-ventral angle (Fig. 7a). Subgenital plate resembling that of S. limboserrata to a large extent in lateral view, but with 4 macrosetae subbasally not in a row (Fig. 7a). Connective with manubrium relatively broad, median lobe slender and slightly longer than lateral arms (Fig. 7e). Style with apex slim, small and foot-like with angulate heel and slightly longer toe (Figs 7f, g). Aedeagus U-shaped with dorsal apodeme almost same length and width as shaft in lateral view, shaft tubular and curved dorsad subapically, without process, gonopore in middle on ventral surface (Figs 7h, i). Measurement. Male 2.45–2.50mm, female 2.45–2.50mm. Material examined. Holotype: ♁, CHINA, Zhejiang Prov., Lishui, 2017.Ⅴ.20, coll. Shuanghu Lin; Paratypes: 5♁ 9&female;, same data as holotype. Remarks. This new species is similar to S. fanjinga, but has the apex of the subgenital plate rounded in lateral view, the style apex short, and the aedeagal shaft without apical process. Etymology.     A Contribution to the Phylogeny and Taxonomy of <i>Hydnum</i> (Cantharellales, Basidiomycota) from China

    Hydnum is a well-characterized genus in the family Hydnaceae of Cantharellales and is characterized by spinose hymenophores. In this study, an ITS phylogenetic overview and a multilocus (ITS-nrLSU-tef1) phylogenetic tree of Hydnum were carried out. On the basis of morphological characteristics and phylogenetic results, seven species from China were confirmed, described, illustrated, and compared with similar species, including three new species, i.e., H. longipes, H. microcarpum, and H. sinorepandum, and four known species, i.e., H. cremeoalbum, H. melitosarxm, H. orientalbidum, and H. pinicola were recorded for the first time in China.     7. Salka taopenna Lin & Zhang sp. nov. (Figs 2a–d, 9) Description. Crown yellowish with median spot not extended to base, coronal suture only distinct basally. Eyes gray and blackish. Face slightly flat in profile. Other features as in generic description (Figs 2a, b, c, d). Male 2S abdominal apodemes extending to posterior part of sternite III (Fig. 9b). Anal tube with well sclerotized dorsal ring on distal region (Fig. 9a). Pygofer dorsal appendage curved ventroposterad, apex slightly expanded with numerous spiculate processes; ventral appendage absent (Figs 9a, c). Pygofer side with 2 macrosetae near base of dorsal appendage and several stout microsetae at cephalo-ventral angle, with numerous circular pits on inner side of distal part (Fig. 9a). Subgenital plate slightly constricted medially, with row of microsetae along outer margin from subbase to apex and 4 macrosetae of different sizes in a row from subbase to middle (Fig. 9a). Connective resembling that of S. aequilonga, but manubrium much narrower, median lobe slender and slightly longer than lateral arms (Fig. 9d). Style resembling that of S. delphiura (Figs 9e, f). Aedeagus with dorsal apodeme and preatrium well developed, as long as shaft; shaft with angulate dorsal preapical projection in lateral view, gonopore apical (Figs 9g, h). Measurement. Male 3.10–3.20mm, female 3.15–3.25mm. Material examined. Holotype: ♁, CHINA, Hunan Prov., Chenzhou, 2020.VII, coll. Deliang Xu; Paratypes: 8♁ 4&female;, same data as holotype. Remarks. This new species is similar to S. delphiura, but has the aedeagal shaft without paired distal processes and the pygofer dorsal appendage with spiculate processes apically. Etymology.     Recognition and sensitive detection of CTCs using a controllable label-free electrochemical cytosensor

    An excellent atomic layer deposition (ALD) method was adopted for the controllable systhesis of a xFe2O3-nPt (or nPt-xFe2O3)-coated graphene nanostructure (xFe2O3-nPt@graphene). The produced nanomaterials have been characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It is shown that xFe2O3 and nPt were effectively tailored and deposited on the graphene. A simple, rapid, and sensitive electrochemical cytosensor based on the controllable nanomaterials was successfully developed for MCF-7 cells detection by combining the high affinity and specificity of an aptamer. The prepared cytosensor displays a linear response to MCF-7 in the concentration range 18 to 1.5 × 106 cell mL−1 with the detection limit of 6 cell mL−1 (at an S/N of 3). This cytosensor was applied to detect circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patient blood and the results were satisfied. The experimental results indicate that the proposed controllable electrochemical cytosensor is highly-sensitive, and convenient for clinical detection of breast CTCs
