A note on the supercritical deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation

We show that on a compact K\"ahler manifold all real (1,1)(1,1)-classes admitting solutions to the supercritical deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation form a both open and closed subset of those which satisfy the numerical condition proposed by Collins-Jacob-Yau. More importantly, we show by an example that it can be a proper subset. This disproves a conjecture made by Collins-Jacob-Yau.Comment: 5 pages, v3: acknowledge to V.P. GSA-Net: gated scaled dot-product attention based neural network for reading comprehension

    Get PDF
Reading Comprehension (RC) is concerned with building systems that automatically answer questions about a given context passage. The interactions between the context and question are very important to locate the correct answer. In this paper, we propose a Gated Scaled DotProduct Attention based model for RC task. The character-level embedding is incorporated into the word embedding which is helpful to deal with Out-of-Vocabulary (OOV) tokens. The attention distribution is obtained by scaled dot product which captures the interaction between question and passage effectively. Further, self-matching attention mechanism is adopted to resolve the problem of long-distance dependency. These components provides more information for the prediction of the starting and ending position of the answer. We evaluate our method on Stanford Question Answering Dataset (SQuAD) and the results show that different components in the model boost the performance

No semistability at infinity for Calabi-Yau metrics asymptotic to cones

We discover a "no semistability at infinity" phenomenon for complete Calabi-Yau metrics asymptotic to cones, by eliminating the possible appearance of an intermediate K-semistable cone in the 2-step degeneration theory developed by Donaldson and the first author. It is in sharp contrast to the setting of local singularities of K\"ahler-Einstein metrics. A byproduct of the proof is a polynomial convergence rate to the asymptotic cone for such manifolds, which bridges the gap between the general theory of Colding-Minicozzi and the classification results of Conlon-Hein.Comment: 25 pages. v3: various improvements on the presentation; v2: minor improvements on the discussion sectio

Urban Railway Transit Timetable Optimisation Based on Passenger-and-Trains Matching – A Case Study of Beijing Metro Line

    Get PDF
Due to the congested scenarios of the urban railway system during peak hours, passengers are often left behind on the platform. This paper firstly brings a proposal to capture passengers matching different trains. Secondly, to reduce passengers’ total waiting time, timetable optimisation is put forward based on passengers matching different trains. This is a two-stage model. In the first stage, the aim is to obtain a match between passengers and different trains from the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) data as well as timetable parameters. In the second stage, the objective is to reduce passengers’ total waiting time, whereby the decision variables are headway and dwelling time. Due to the complexity of our proposed model, an MCMC-GASA (Markov Chain Monte Carlo-Genetic Algorithm Simulated Annealing) hybrid method is designed to solve it. A real-world case of Line 1 in Beijing metro is employed to verify the proposed two-stage model and algorithms. The results show that several improvements have been brought by the newly designed timetable. The number of unique matching passengers increased by 37.7%, and passengers’ total waiting time decreased by 15.5%

How to Coordinate Supply Chain Under O2O Business Model When Demand Deviation Happens

    Get PDF
In this paper, a supply chain consisting of one supplier and multiple O2O retailers is studied. The supply chain is coordinated under the revenue-sharing contract in the static case. Disruptions make the price sensitivity coefficient change after the production plan is formulated. In centralized supply chain, the supplier only needs to adjust the retail price if the disruption is in a certain range. When the disruption is large enough, what the supplier needs to do is adjust the retail price and the production quantities. In decentralized decision, the supply chain cannot be coordinated. This means that the original revenue-sharing contract cannot coordinate the disrupted supply chain. An improved revenue-sharing contract is used to coordinate the disrupted supply chain. The research shows that the improved contract can coordinate the original supply chain and the disrupted supply chain, which means that the contract has robustness when facing demand deviation

Stability Analysis and Reinforcement of the Existing Karst Cave Passing through Yujingshan Tunnel

High-speed Railway tunneling in karst terrain presents a huge challenge to the engineer including the identification, stability analysis and reinforcement of the karst cavities. The Cheng-Gui high-speed railway tunnel had to pass through the largest karst cave discovered in tunnel construction. To guaranteeing the tunnel construction safety, a series of corresponding prevention and control measures are put forward. To begin with, geological drilling, electromagnetic method and surface electrical resistivity tomography are adopted to detect and delineate the underground karst zone. Based on the detection results, this paper has put forward strategies to make the pre-support of karst cave and the main technical of those strategies include: the side-walls or in the crown was applied with shotcret (C40 steel fiber concrete); use expanding-shell pre-stressed hollow anchor rod and pre-stressed cable reinforcement; fix steel-mesh-bolting; the shotcrete sealing was applied. Moreover, if instabilities would develop in the side-walls, it should be sufficient to stabilize the cavities, to do dental cleaning of the broken rocks, and fill the voids with shotcrete or pumped lean concrete. At last, systematic grouting treatment around the excavated section, and was excavated with the layer-step method. The solutions presented here may provide guidance for the design and construction of high-speed railway tunnels to be implemented affected by karst processes. The technical validation of the proposed solutions was demonstrated by the successful completion of the Yujingshan tunnel. Please click Additional Files below to see the full abstract

Detection of Nutrient-Related SNP to Reveal Individual Malnutrition Risk

    Get PDF
Malnutrition is a result of complicated reasons from diet and food behavior and also related to genetic background which has been revealed by studies in recent decades. Traditionally, nutrition status are measured and expressed with indexes of anthropometric, diet survey, clinical symptom, biochemistry, behavior, etc. These measurement has been used in national nutrition monitoring, clinic nutrition therapy, mother and children nutrition care, nutrition intervention projects, and scientific studies. However, genetic and epigenetic information on nutrition explain malnutrition in a genetic view that would supply additional new theory and methodology for the growing requirement in terms of personalized and precise nutrition. In this chapter, an introduction on the detection of nutrient-related SNP to reveal individual malnutrition risk is discussed
