O desenvolvimento de modelos como prática pedagógica nas licenciaturas em ciências

Neste estudo são descritas estratégias destinadas aos licenciandos em Ciências, no sentido de que possam desenvolver, ainda na sua formação, o aporte necessário para a criação e aplicação de modelos para o ensino de ciências. São discutidos vários recursos que podem ser utilizados para melhorar ainda mais as práticas pedagógicas e investigativas no ensino das ciências, desde os mais simples, como desenhos, até alguns mais complexos, como montagens de experimentos. Como resultado deste estudo, discute-se algumas das falhas mais graves cometidas quando da implantação das estratégias do uso de modelos em aulas que visam o ensino de Ciências. Falhas que são perfeitamente contornáveis com uma boa atuação do professor, no que se refere ao seu envolvimento no projeto aplicado

Teaching chemical reactions in the laboratory: linking theory and practice in teacher’s education and didactic action

This paper presents the results of an investigation about chemistry teaching laboratory, describing the potential of a methodology that combines theoretical and hands on activities about chemical reactions. This proposal explores the curriculum content of high school chemistry, highlighting the teaching of chemical reactions, seeking the establishment of inter-relationships between the theoretical and practical knowledge inherent in the processes of school knowledge in Chemistry, challenging teachers to think about experimental activities not as an isolated moment in their class, but as an integral part of it. The methodology was qualitative in nature, adopting semi-structured interviews as instruments for data collection. The research was conducted with eight teachers of chemistry and seventy students from the second grade of high school from a technical school in Rio de Janeiro state. The results of this study indicate that this approach appears as an alternative to conducting laboratory experimental activities, contributing to a more formative and informative, less technical and fragmented teaching of chemistry in Basic Education. The research also shows that this approach supports teachers on their reflection of teaching practices, as well as on the planning and execution of experimental activities. We conclude that pedagogical proposals that articulate theory and practice are more effective in promoting the learning of high school students

Molluscicidal Activity of Physalis angulata L. Extracts and Fractions on Biomphalaria tenagophila (d’Orbigny, 1835) under Laboratory Conditions

The main objective of this research is to evaluate the molluscicide activity of Physalis angulata L. Biomphalaria tenagophila specimens under laboratory conditions. Extracts and fractions were supplied by the Laboratório de Química de Produtos Naturais, Farmanguinhos-Fiocruz. Experiments were performed according to the methodology described by the World Health Organization for molluscicide tests using the concentrations from 0.1 to 500 mg/l of the extracts, fractions and of a pool of physalins modified steroids present in this species. The results show that ethyl acetate and acetone extracts from the whole plant, the ethanolic extracts of the roots and the physalins pool from stems and leaves were active. Only the whole plant extracts were available in sufficient quantity for the determination of LD50 and LD90 value
