Synthesis and study of the micellization behavior of a dual temperature- and pH-responsive PAA-b-PNIPAM block copolymer

Amphiphilic diblock copolymers are composed of hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions. When they are exposed to water, the hydrophobic blocks aggregate to form a hydrophobic core surrounded by hydrophilic regions outside to give a core-shell micelle. These micelles have many potential applications, such as a drug delivery system, surfactants, or nanoreactor. Many studies have been done to optimize the performance of these copolymers. In this thesis work, nine dual temperature- and pH-responsive poly(acrylic acid-block-N-isopropylacrylamide) (PAA-b-PNIPAM) diblock copolymers with different relative chain lengths of the hydrophobic and hydrophilic blocks were synthesized by reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. The preliminary results showed high conversion values for all products. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopies were used to study the selfassembly of synthesized copolymers in aqueous solution and measure the lower critical solution temperatures. Results clearly showed the occurrence of micellization for all copolymers

Collection of breeder shrimps in important fishing grounds of Hormozgan province was started in 1994. In this research which was carried out in March, April, June and July 2001 and 2002, we aimed at identifying shrimp species, determining frequency distribution of the species in the catch and evaluating caught maturity stages. We collected data on the catch of artisanal shrimp trawlers on a biweekly basis. Result showed that Penaeus indicus was dominant in the catch while P. semisulcatus and P. merguiensis comprised 20.5-20% and 13.5-19.5% of the catch in Jask and Sirik areas respectively. A Tukey test showed that average carapace length in P. merguiensis and P. semisulcatus caught in Jask were significantly larger than those from Sirik area (p<0.05). Maximum abundance of P. semisulcatus and P. merguiensis spawners was found during March to June in Jask and June to July in Sirik fishing grounds

Normal ageing is often accompanied by loss of appetite and decrease in food intake. Weight loss of senescence is called anorexia of ageing. As an outstanding scientist and physician of Traditional Persian Medicine, Avicenna has introduced an unconventional approach to seniors. He also believed that the elderly should consider special schemes in order to maintain their health. These schemes include consideration of nutrition, mental states, sleep, bathing, and physical activities, and even choosing some appropriate hobbies. The elderly should consume foods and fruits with laxative and stool-softening properties to prevent constipation. They would also do better to decrease the amount of food eaten at meals, but at the same time increasing the number of meals to compensate for low food intake. Moreover, they should maintain their vital force and avoid any activities that tax the body. This research was carried out in Strait of Hormuz in 2020. The present study aimed to investigate the migration and growth pattern of tagged shrimps in the study area. Bloodstock shrimps were reared in June (2010). About 50000 juvenile shrimps were tagged by red color florescent elastomeric tag and released in the estuaries of Tiab, Kolahi and Koolgan at night in July 2010. Local people were informed through posters describing the tagging program, as well as articles published in a local magazine. A tagging program film was broadcasted on local television three times prior to the shrimp fishing season and during shrimp catch period. In the catch season, September and November months, 11 tagged prawns (0.022%) were recaptured. Movement direction of tagged prawns was northwesterly of deeper waters of releasing areas. Speed was recorded at 0.33-0.33 km/day and tagged prawns were recaptured 46 km from the released locations. The mean (±SD) weight of released banana prawns and the average weight of the recaptured prawns were1.2±0.2 g and 22.06±4.9 g, respectively. The growth rate of recaptured prawns was 16-26 g and growth speed was 0.88-1.41 g per week. In the study area, the major sea current was from the Oman Sea to the Persian Gulf through Strait of Hormuz probably influencing the pattern of banana prawn movement in Hormozgan area

The indian white prawn (Penaeus indicus), as one of the commercially important and dominant species along the East coast of Hormozgan province, is a very potential and prospective candidate species for shrimp farming. Since, there wasn't well enough information about biology of this species from Iranian wateres, therefore. some biological aspects such as growth rate, reproduction behaviour distribution pattern and feeding habits were studied from March 1997 to March 1998. Monthly sampling were carried out from the fishing grounds and estuaries of Jask area in the Oman Sea by small trawlers and beach seines gears. Initial growth 01 male was faster than female, with calculated K=l.5 for male and K=1.3 for female. Isometric growth trend was observed in both sexes. Sexual maturity attained within the first 12 months. Spawners were occured abundantly during post-winter, spring and beginning of summer. Postlarvae and sub-adults were found in the esturies with 25-100 mm length, and high densities were observed around the mangrove's roots. They spend at least 3 to 5 months of their life span in the esturies. Analysis of stomach contents revealed that this species is an omnivore with indicative contents of detritus, polychaetes, crustaceane, bivalves, algae and sand particles, with preponderance of vegetable constituents in the sub-adults and of detritus in adults

Information Technology has a positive impact on other disciplines. Using today's technology, precision agriculture and InformationTechnology are mixed together. Use of Information Technology in agriculture will lead to improvements in productivity. For this purpose, the raw data is transformed into useful information through data mining. This research determined whether data mining techniques can alsobe used to improve pattern recognition and analysis of large growth factors of ornamental plants experimental datasets. Furthermore, theresearch aimed to establish data mining techniques can be used to assist in the classification and regression methods by determining whethermeaningful patterns exist various growth factors of ornamental plants characterized at various research sites across Kish Island. Differentdata mining techniques were used analyze a large data base of ornamental plants properties attributes. The data base has been collected fromdifferent plants of Kish Island in various areas in order to determine, classify and predict effective growth factors on blooming. In thisresearch, analyzed data with regression technique showed the effect of chlorophyll content on the number of flowers. The analysis of theseagricultural data base with different data mining methods may have some advantages in agricultur

These are grouped in Palinuridae family and from Scyllaridae family

Identification of Nursing Management Planning Standards in Iran‏

BACKGROUND: In recent century, planning is one of the most important care skills for health service development. Nurses should be ready scientifically for managing situations in order to develop and perform appropriate models for patient care. It is necessary for manager to know about the process and standards of planning and how to apply them in real conditions. With regard to importance of health care planning and lack of nursing management planning accreditation in Iran. METHODS: This triangulating research was carried out between 2004 and 2006. Fifty professional nursing managers in different level of Iran medical universities and central hospitals, having experience in nursing management at least for five years, and an MS or BS degree in nursing management, were included in a study through purposed sampling. At first, a pilot study with an open questionnaire was conducted in Isfahan and Shiraz and then the study went on in 3 phases including searching for international standards in method by 15 professional nursing manager after consensus on 70% and sending the final was used for data analysis. At last standards for nursing management planning were obtained in Iran. RESULTS: 48 standards of nursing management planning were obtained. The findings showed that most of the standards were accepted (90%) and there were not any standards with agreement lower than 70%. These standards, accompanied with the standards of other nursing units, can be used for quality improvement. The researcher suggests the ministry of health to use these findings and other related ones to accredit the nursing system and to identify its deficiencies
