A methodological approach to developing the model of correlation between economic development and environmental efficiency on the basis of company's non-financial reports

Having reviewed the most widely used international non-financial reporting standards, GRI was identified as the optimal standard for the Russian context. The environmental component of the GRI G4 guidelines and the contribution of each aspect to the overall sustainability picture were analysed. Over time, the value of biological resources increases, and therefore, a company’s economic development cannot continue in isolation. To determine the degree of harmony between economic development and ecological condition of the territories involved, new approaches and methods are required. Based on statistical methods, a model of correlation between economic development and environmental efficiency was developed that uses non-financial reporting data. The model can be used by oil and gas companies, and its general principles — by other industries. The results may interest stakeholders and serve as a platform for forecasting and making administrative decisions aimed at achieving harmony between economic development and environmental efficiency. The model was tested on the largest oil and gas Russian company “Surgutneftegaz” data. A positive correlation was shown between the two systems of its sustainable development: economy and ecology. The results obtained demonstrate the company’s strong commitment to conservation. Further research may yield more profound results, contributing to broader sustainable development

The movement "new left" arose in Western Europe and the USA in the 1960-ies under the influence of the split in the world Communist movement following the events of 1956, the twentieth Congress of the CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union) when it is the prevailing leftist anarchist and Trotskyist ideas. The new left protested against the Stalinist variant of socialism and the Stalinization of Eastern Europe, the hard political structuring and centralization of socialism, lack of spirituality of the "consumer society", the anonymity of mass culture, the unification of human personality. Advocated "direct democracy", freedom of expression, non-conformism and club-a discussion of the political culture. The intellectual center of the "new left" was the magazine "New Left Review". The Central themes of the journal were the issues of updates of the Marxist theory, labor and trade Union movement, the analysis of numerous forms of anti-capitalist protest, the national liberation and anti-imperialist movements, ethno-religious, gender, psychological and linguistic-cultural research, philosophical analysis of the various aspects of the Central problem of modernity, namely the ratio of government and people. Get PDF
The research introduces a system for pulsed volume discharges ignition at atmospheric pressure within gaps reaching 125 mm. The corona discharge is used for the volume discharge initiation. A damping oscillations pulse generator is used as a high-voltage power supply. The pulse repetition rate reaches 1 kHz, while the rate of damping high-frequency harmonic oscillations can reach megahertz units. The volume discharge electric and spectral characteristics were analyzed. The study revealed that O2+ emission spectrum dominates in the UV region. The potential of using pulsed volume discharge for cleaning biological surfaces was demonstrated in the research. The survival rate for E. coli under the influence of 15 seconds long pulsed volume discharge has decreased by 30 times

Mastering English as a second language via the parallels with the native language (using project work)

The article deals with the strategies of studying foreign languages with the help of the project method. We propose that the study of phraseological units (e.g. those with the "black/white" color component) in the English language could be well accomplished with the help of native languages (e.g. Russian and Tatar) in a bilingual environment. The research is conducted among the 11th graders of a Tatarstan high school in which Russian and Tatar are the two native languages. One of the results of the research is that the students' activity in searching, collecting, and analyzing the language material should be fully independent from the tutor's guidance. The tutor's role is merely organizational. The revealed parallels in the connotations of the phraseological units taken from English, Russian and Tatar make for the better acquisition of the foreign language (English) as well as for the deeper understanding of the native languages (Russian and Tatar). Another result is that white and black colors have more or less analogical impact on the representatives of English and Russian/Tatar cultures

Quantum interference in Moessbauer resonance fluorescence

We studied the resonance fluorescence of Moessbauer radiation of Fe 57 nuclei with coherently coupled nuclear sublevels. The obtained results prove that the traditional Moessbauer spectroscopy in scattering geometry is effective enough for experimental investigation of the quantum interference of gamma transitions and for studying the coherencies induced by external radiation fields

Problems and prospects of human capital development in modern Russia

    Get PDF
Purpose: In the context of dynamically changing modern labor market there is a need to develop a model of congruence and correlation of the process of building professional competencies provided by educational standards. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was performed using monographic, abstract logical, sociological and statistical methods. However, this approach does not imply the formation of supra-professional competencies, which generally predetermine the success of professional tasks performed by a specialist. Findings: The article discusses the role of human capital as a fundamental factor affecting the increase in the competitiveness of production. Practical implications: The study focusses on the most demanded competencies for the development of digital society. The authors have grouped countries by level of human capital use. Originality/Value: At present, the appropriate parameters for measuring professional and general cultural competencies have been adopted as a system for assessing the quality of education in general and the quality of specialist training.peer-reviewe

Magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of terbium titanate pyrochlore in paramagnetic phase are simulated. The magnetic field and temperature dependences of magnetization and forced magnetostriction in Tb 2Ti 2O 7 single crystals and polycrystalline samples are calculated in the framework of exchange charge model of crystal field theory and a mean field approximation. The set of electron-deformation coupling constants has been determined. Variations of elastic constants with temperature and applied magnetic field are discussed. Additional strong softening of the crystal lattice at liquid helium temperatures in the magnetic field directed along the rhombic symmetry axis is predicted

Quantum interference of mössbauer gamma-radiative transitions in magnetic materials

A method is developed for calculating the resonance fluorescence spectrum of coherent radiation with a finite linewidth from a system whose energy levels are coupled through a strong field. In this case, the shape of the spectrum is essentially affected by quantum interference. The results obtained give impetus to investigations into quantum interference of Mössbauer gamma-radiative transitions in magnetic materials under conditions of induced coherent magnetization dynamics. © 2002 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica"

Optical spectra, crystal-field parameters, and magnetic susceptibility of the new multiferroic NdFe3(BO3)4

We report high-resolution optical absorption spectra for NdFe3(BO3)4 trigonal single crystal which is known to exhibit a giant magnetoelectric effect below the temperature of magnetic ordering TN = 33 K. The analysis of the temperature-dependent polarized spectra reveals the energies and, in some cases, symmetries and exchange splittings of Nd3+ 84 Kramers doublets. We perform crystal-field calculations starting from the exchange-charge model, obtain a set of six real crystal-field parameters, and calculate wave functions and magnetic g-factors. In particular, the values g(perpendicular) = 2.385, g(parallel) = 1.376 were found for the Nd3+ ground-state doublet. We obtain Bloc=7.88 T and |JFN|= 0.48 K for the values of the local effective magnetic field at liquid helium temperatures at the Nd3+ site and the Nd - Fe exchange integral, respectively, using the experimentally measured Nd3+ ground-state splitting of 8.8 cm-1. To check reliability of our set of crystal field parameters we model the magnetic susceptibility data from literature. A dimer containing two nearest-neighbor iron ions in the spiral chain is considered to partly account for quasi-one-dimensional properties of iron borates, and then the mean-field approximation is used. The results of calculations with the exchange parameters for Fe3+ ions Jnn = -6.25 K (intra-chain interactions) and Jnnn = -1.92 K (inter-chain interactions) obtained from fitting agree well with the experimental data.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures, 2 table
