    High-Rate Space-Time Coded Large MIMO Systems: Low-Complexity Detection and Channel Estimation

    In this paper, we present a low-complexity algorithm for detection in high-rate, non-orthogonal space-time block coded (STBC) large-MIMO systems that achieve high spectral efficiencies of the order of tens of bps/Hz. We also present a training-based iterative detection/channel estimation scheme for such large STBC MIMO systems. Our simulation results show that excellent bit error rate and nearness-to-capacity performance are achieved by the proposed multistage likelihood ascent search (M-LAS) detector in conjunction with the proposed iterative detection/channel estimation scheme at low complexities. The fact that we could show such good results for large STBCs like 16x16 and 32x32 STBCs from Cyclic Division Algebras (CDA) operating at spectral efficiencies in excess of 20 bps/Hz (even after accounting for the overheads meant for pilot based training for channel estimation and turbo coding) establishes the effectiveness of the proposed detector and channel estimator. We decode perfect codes of large dimensions using the proposed detector. With the feasibility of such a low-complexity detection/channel estimation scheme, large-MIMO systems with tens of antennas operating at several tens of bps/Hz spectral efficiencies can become practical, enabling interesting high data rate wireless applications.Comment: v3: Performance/complexity comparison of the proposed scheme with other large-MIMO architectures/detectors has been added (Sec.     Creation and Spatial Analysis of 3D City Modeling based on GIS Data

    The 3D city model is one of the crucial topics that are still under analysis by many engineers and programmers because of the great advancements in data acquisition technologies and 3D computer graphics programming. It is one of the best visualization methods for representing reality. This paper presents different techniques for the creation and spatial analysis of 3D city modeling based on Geographical Information System (GIS) technology using free data sources. To achieve that goal, the Mansoura University campus, located in Mansoura city, Egypt, was chosen as a case study. The minimum data requirements to generate a 3D city model are the terrain, 2D spatial features such as buildings, landscape area and street networks. Moreover, building height is an important attribute in the 3D extrusion process. The main challenge during the creation process is the dearth of accurate free datasets, and the time-consuming editing. Therefore, different data sources are used in this study to evaluate their accuracy and find suitable applications which can use the generated 3D model. Meanwhile, an accurate data source obtained using the traditional survey methods is used for the validation purpose. First, the terrain was obtained from a digital elevation model (DEM) and compared with grid leveling measurements. Second, 2D data were obtained from: the manual digitization from (30 cm) high-resolution imagery, and deep learning structure algorithms to detect the 2D features automatically using an object instance segmentation model and compared the results with the total station survey observations. Different techniques are used to investigate and evaluate the accuracy of these data sources. The procedural modeling technique is applied to generate the 3D city model. TensorFlow & Keras frameworks (Python APIs) were used in this paper; moreover, global mapper, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and CityEngine software were used. The precision metrics from the trained deep learning model were 0.78 for buildings, 0.62 for streets and 0.89 for landscape areas. Despite, the manual digitizing results are better than the results from deep learning, but the extracted features accuracy is accepted and can be used in the creation process in the cases not require a highly accurate 3D model.     Transition Properties of Low Lying States in Atomic Indium

    We present here the results of our relativistic many-body calculations of various properties of the first six low-lying excited states of indium. The calculations were performed using the relativistic coupled-cluster method in the framework of the singles, doubles and partial triples approximation. We obtain a large lifetime ~10s for the [4p^6]5s^2 5p_{3/2} state, which had not been known earlier. Our precise results could be used to shed light on the reliability of the lifetime measurements of the excited states of atomic indium that we have considered in the present work.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure and 3 table

    Tujuan: Mengukur ketebalan serat elastin pada dinding vagina penderita POP anterior dan menganalisis korelasi antara ketebalan serat elastin dengan derajat POP anterior.Bahan dan Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional secara cross sectional yang dilakukan pada 28 blok paraffin dinding vagina dari penderita POP anterior yang telah dilakukan operasi di RSUD dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok: derajat 0/I, II, III dan IV dengan masing-masing (n=7). Dilakukan pewarnaan imunohistokimia dengan antibodi elastin dilanjutkan pengukuran ketebalan serat elastin menggunakan mikroskop dengan perangkat lunak Leica Application Suite (LAS).Hasil: Didapatkan perbedaan bermakna rerata ketebalan serat elastin kelompok penderita POP anterior derajat 0/I, II, III dan IV yaitu masing-masing sebesar 0,81 + 0,14 µm; 1,63 + 0,19 µm; 2,47 + 0,26µm dan 3,19 + 0,36 µm (p<0,0001). Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik korelasi pearson didapatkan koefisien korelasi r = 0,965 (P<0,0001).Simpulan: Ketebalan serat elastin pada dinding vagina bertambah dengan meningkatnya derajat POP anterior.     Kolmogorov's refined similarity hypothesis: consequences from an exact two-point equation for isotropic turbulence

    In order to describe intermittency and anomalous scaling in turbulence, Kolmogorov's second refined similarity hypothesis (KRSH) connects statistics of velocity increments to those of the rate of dissipation ϵr\epsilon_r, averaged in a sphere at a scale rr in the inertial range. We explore this classic hypothesis in light of the generalized Kolmogorov-Hill equation (GKHE) derived exactly from the Navier-Stokes equations, and in which ϵr\epsilon_r appears explicitly. When evaluated using conditional averaging based on ϵr\epsilon_r, analysis of Direct Numerical Simulations data at various Reynolds numbers shows that the energy cascade rate indeed equals ϵr\epsilon_r. Conditional higher-order moments also support KRSH, while an ``inverse KRSH'' is not supported by data. Finally, results confirm KRSH even when applied separately to positive (forward) and negative (inverse) cascade regions of the flow

    The emergence of strong Islamic movements in last three decades has generated a renewed interest in Islamic economics, especially in Islamic interest free banking. Currently Islamic bank strategically offering high quality products and services to satisfy their customers due to the strong competition, customer expectation for high quality services and rapidly changes of technology. The purpose of this study is to investigate major factors that are reflecting to customers’ perception and satisfaction on Islamic banking. This study hope to analyze and determine the perception, quality of services, availability of services, confidence in bank and social and religious perspective about Islamic banking system. A Logit model is employed to anticipate the effects of the explanatory variables. The analysis confirms the significant positive relationship of quality of services, availability of services, social and religious perspective and confidence in bank with customers’ perception about Islamic bank. These factors are expected to have great role for influencing customer mind. In conclusion, customers can derive a better understanding of the activities that are undertaken by bank and how the way these activities are being dealt with

    Anatomical variations of hepatic artery using the multidetector computed tomography angiography

    Background: The frequency of normal and aberrant hepatic arteries differs among ethnicities. The aim of our work was to study the frequency of normal and aberrant hepatic arteries among Egyptians using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) and to compare our prevalence with the prevalence of other nationalities. In addition, the gender differences of such variations were clarified. Moreover, the arterial feeding of hepatic segment IV was determined. Materials and methods: The present study was carried out on 500 patients (409 males and 91 females). Abdominal CT was performed using two MDCT systems, a 64-row, and a 256-slice system. Results: According to Michel’s classification, the normal anatomy (type I) was observed in 369 (73.8%) cases, while anomalous hepatic arterial pattern was detected in 131 (26.2%) cases. These anomalies were distributed as follows: type II in 36 (7.2%) cases, type III in 60 (12%) cases, types IV and V in 5 cases for each (1% each), type VI in 14 (2.8%) and types VIII and IX in a single case for each (0.2% each). Neither type VII nor type X was detected. Nine (1.8%) unclassified cases were observed. According to Hiaat’s classification, the anomalies were distributed as follows: type II in 41 (8.2%) cases, type III in 74 (14.8%) cases, type IV in 6 (1.2%) cases, type V in a single case (0.2%) and type VI in 2 (0.4%) cases. Finally, 7 (1.4%) unclassified cases were observed. Common hepatic artery (CHA) originated from coeliac trunk in 98% (79.8% males and 18.2% females). It originated from the abdominal aorta in 0.4% and from the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) in 0.4%. It was absent in 1.2%. Right hepatic artery (RHA) originated from the CHA in 86.6% (69.8% males and 16.8% females) and from the SMA in 13.2% (11.8% males and 1.4% females) and from the abdominal aorta in 0.2% (a single male case). Left hepatic artery (LHA) originated from the CHA in 91.2% and from the left gastric artery (LGA) in 8.8%. The most common origin of the segment IV blood supply was the LHA in 60.8%, followed by the RHA in 35%. Less commonly, blood supply derived from the hepatic artery proper (HAP) in 1%. Combined supply derived from RHA and LHA in 0.8%, from the LHA and HAP in 2% and the least encountered was from the RHA and HAP in 0.4%. Conclusions: Hepatic artery variations among Egyptians have a different distribution when compared to such variations among other species. The normal hepatic arterial pattern was observed in 73.8%, while the anomalous was detected in 26.2%. The CHA originated from the coeliac trunk in 98%, the RHA originated from the CHA in 86.6% and the LHA originated from the CHA in 91.2%. The most common arterial supply of the hepatic segment IV is derived from the LHA (60.2%)

    Low-loss Materials for high Q-factor Bragg Reflector Resonators

    A Bragg resonator uses dielectric plates within a metallic cavity to confine the energy within a central free space region. The importance of the permittivity is shown with a better Q-factor possible using higher permittivity materials of larger intrinsic dielectric losses. This is because the electric energy in the reflectors decreases proportionally to the square root of permittivity and the coupling to the metallic losses decrease linearly. In a sapphire resonator with a single reflector pair a Q-factor of 2.34x10^5 is obtained, which may be improved on by up to a factor of 2 using higher permittivity materials
