Blepharitis Disease Diagnosis Expert System using the Fuzzy Mamdani Method

    Get PDF
The high cost of consultations and eye examinations has made people reluctant to have their eyes checked by a doctor who specializes in eye diseases, especially blepharitis. The community needs a system that can diagnose blepharitis that they are currently suffering from so that they can have their eyes checked without having to go to a specialist in eye diseases, especially blepharitis first. The number of people suffering from blepharitis in humans is increasing from year to year. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to anticipate the increasing number of people with blepharitis. This is due to the delay in diagnosing the disease. Patients with this disease usually experience blindness due to a lack of proper maintenance. Expert systems are computer-based systems that use knowledge, facts, and techniques, and reasoning to solve problems that normally only an expert in the field can solve. The Fuzzy Mamdani method is quite efficient to use in diagnosing blepharitis disease. This system can provide an early diagnosis of blepharitis in the human eye based on the symptoms and intensity of symptoms that are visible from the outside or experienced by humans. Patients (Users) only need to go to the Web to take the first steps in solving blepharitis and choose the symptoms of the disease they are experiencing without having to ask the expert directly. This system is made web-based with the PHP programming language

Optimal Dynamical Decoupling Sequence for Ohmic Spectrum

We investigate the optimal dynamical decoupling sequence for a qubit coupled to an ohmic environment. By analytically computing the derivatives of the decoherence function, the optimal pulse locations are found to satisfy a set of nonlinear equations which can be easily solved. These equations incorporates the environment information such as high-energy (UV) cutoff frequency \omega_c, giving a complete description of the decoupling process. The solutions explain previous experimental and theoretical results of locally optimized dynamical decoupling (LODD) sequence in high-frequency dominated environment, which were obtained by purely numerical computation and experimental feedback. As shown in numerical comparison, these solutions outperform the Uhrig dynamical decoupling (UDD) sequence by one or more orders of magnitude in the ohmic case.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, to appear in Phys. Numerical simulation of Quasi-Normal Modes in time-dependent background

We study the massless scalar wave propagation in the time-dependent Schwarzschild black hole background. We find that the Kruskal coordinate is an appropriate framework to investigate the time-dependent spacetime. A time-dependent scattering potential is derived by considering dynamical black hole with parameters changing with time. It is shown that in the quasinormal ringing both the decay time-scale and oscillation are modified in the time-dependent background.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures; reference adde

Bilateral neurotoxic lesions in NCM before tutoring onset do not prevent successful tutor song learning

Sensorimotor learning crucially depends on the ability to acquire a sensory memory for shaping motor commands. Such learning is conveniently studied in young songbirds when they memorize the song of an adult singer and gradually transform their own vocalizations toward the memorized target song. Here we study the involvement of the Caudal Medial Nidopallium (NCM), a higher auditory cortical area, in acquisition of a song memory. NCM has previously been shown to be involved in tutor song memorization. To study the necessity of NCM in this process, we perform large irreversible NCM lesions using ibotenic acid injections in about 40-days old juvenile zebra finches, before their first exposure to tutor song. Surprisingly, NCM-lesioned juveniles successfully copied the tutor song at least as well as untreated control animals, showing that a fully intact NCM is not required for tutor song memory formation and normal song development

In this Letter we suggest a method of convex rigid frames in the studies of the multipartite quNit pure-states. We illustrate what are the convex rigid frames and what is the method of convex rigid frames. As the applications we use this method to solve some basic problems and give some new results (three theorems): The problem of the partial separability of the multipartite quNit pure-states and its geometric explanation; The problem of the classification of the multipartite quNit pure-states, and give a perfect explanation of the local unitary transformations; Thirdly, we discuss the invariants of classes and give a possible physical explanation.Comment: 6 pages, no figur

Optimized Dynamical Decoupling Sequences in Protecting Two-Qubit States

Aperiodic dynamical decoupling (DD) sequences of π\pi pulses are of great interest to decoherence control and have been recently extended from single-qubit to two-qubit systems. If the environmental noise power spectrum is made available, then one may further optimize aperiodic DD sequences to reach higher efficiency of decoherence suppression than known universal schemes. This possibility is investigated in this work for the protection of two-qubit states, using an exactly solvable pure dephasing model including both local and nonlocal noise. The performance of optimized DD sequences in protecting two-qubit states is compared with that achieved by nested Uhrig's DD (nested-UDD) sequences, for several different types of noise spectrum. Except for cases with noise spectrum decaying slowly in the high-frequency regime, optimized DD sequences with tens of control pulses can perform orders of magnitude better than that of nested-UDD. A two-qubit system with highly unbalanced local noise is also examined to shed more light on a recent experiment. Possible experiments that may be motivated by this work are discussed.Comment: 9 pages, two figure

    Quadratic Volume Preserving Maps

We study quadratic, volume preserving diffeomorphisms whose inverse is also quadratic. Such maps generalize the Henon area preserving map and the family of symplectic quadratic maps studied by Moser. In particular, we investigate a family of quadratic volume preserving maps in three space for which we find a normal form and study invariant sets. We also give an alternative proof of a theorem by Moser classifying quadratic symplectic maps.Comment: Ams LaTeX file with 4 figures (figure 2 is gif, the others are ps
