ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF CALIFORNIA'S GOLF COURSE FACILITIES IN 2000
People spent 7.872 billion, 1.370 billion in 2000. Direct sales of $4.251 billion directly supported 62,173 jobs, and , through indirect and induced sales impacts, an additional 37,609 jobs.Land Economics/Use,
DEMAND FOR AGRICULTURAL ECONOMIC INFORMATION
Using data gathered in two surveys we analyze the movement of information in agriculture. The relative importance of varying classes of information providers are assessed by classes of users. A network based framework expands models of human capital and bounded rationality to assess the calculus of choice of information.information, bounded rationality, Institutional and Behavioral Economics,
Pairs of Bloch electrons and magnetic translation groups
A product of irreducible representations of magnetic translation group is
considered. It leads to irreducible representations which were previously
rejected as nonphysical. A very simple example indicates a possible application
of these representations. In particular, they are important in descriptions of
pairs of electrons in a magnetic field and a periodic potential. The
periodicity of some properties with respect to the charge of a particle is
briefly discussed.Comment: 4 pages, RevTex. Latex2.09, amsfont
The Argo Program : present and future
Author Posting. © The Oceanography Society, 2017. This article is posted here by permission of The Oceanography Society for personal use, not for redistribution. The definitive version was published in Oceanography 30, no. 2 (2017): 18–28, doi:10.5670/oceanog.2017.213.The Argo Program has revolutionized large-scale physical oceanography through its contributions to basic research, national and international climate assessment, education, and ocean state estimation and forecasting. This article discusses the present status of Argo and enhancements that are underway. Extensions of the array into seasonally ice-covered regions and marginal seas as well as increased numbers of floats along the equator and around western boundary current extensions have been proposed. In addition, conventional Argo floats, with their 2,000 m sampling limit, currently observe only the upper half of the open ocean volume. Recent advances in profiling float technology and in the accuracy and stability of float-mounted conductivity-temperature-depth sensors make it practical to obtain measurements to 6,000 m. The Deep Argo array will help observe and constrain the global budgets of heat content, freshwater, and steric sea level, as well as the full-depth ocean circulation. Finally, another extension to the Argo Program is the addition of a diverse set of chemical sensors to profiling floats in order to build a Biogeochemical-Argo array to understand the carbon cycle, the biological pump, and ocean acidification.S.R.J. was

Revisitando o conceito de sÃndrome do ninho vazio
BACKGROUND: The empty nest syndrome is frequently mentioned in the literature as a period of change in the couples' lives, after children leaving home. OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this article is to review the conceptual notions related to empty nest syndrome, to verify its current applicability, as well as its peculiarities in different cultures. METHOD: We reviewed the available literature on the empty nest syndrome using the MedLine and PsycINFO databases. RESULT: The empty nest syndrome period occurs along with several changes such as retirement and menopause which can exacerbate feelings of depression and low self-esteem. In addition, social and cultural factors potentially influence the emergence and intensity of the syndrome. CONCLUSION: Studies on the empty nest syndrome have limitations and there is a gap of studies methodologically appropriate in our country to validate it in the Brazilian context.CONTEXTO: A sÃndrome do ninho vazio é mencionada com frequência na literatura como o perÃodo de mudanças na vida do casal após a saÃda dos filhos de casa.
