PRINCIPLES OF ROCK PRESSURE ENERGY USAGE DURING UNDERGROUND MINING OF DEPOSITS
Purpose. To substantiate principles of rock pressure usage during underground mining of deposits.
Methodology. Zonal structuring indices of massif around mine workings were established with help of industrial,
laboratory and theoretical research of stress-strain state of rock massif. Research on entropy influence on energy exchange
and deformations developments in undisturbed rock massif is conducted by means of the entropy method.
Research on preventive capsule formation processes around mine workings and forms of energy transition into work
of rock deformation is executed with help of the energy method. Development of geo-energy approaches for the
choice of development workings pathways and calculation of their bolting parameters as well as substantiation of parameters
of conducting stoping operations in energy zones of preventive capsules is executed according to the estimation
of geo-energy technology effectiveness and realization of industrial implementation during underground mining
of deposits.
Findings. Physical essence of zonal capsulation phenomenon of mine workings is revealed. Geo-energy principles
of rock pressure energy usage are substantaited. Resource-saving technologies of mining of mineral depositis are created
and implemented into production.
Originality. The paper deals with systematization of the picture of phenomena, capsulation processes and regularities
by massif of mine workings with determination of shape, sizes, quantity of energy zones, sinusoidal-damping
stresses and ring modules of deformation by means of complex account of geo-energy factors that allow using energy
of rock pressure in underground mining technologies systematically.
Practical value. The energy prediction theory of zonal capsulation parameters research of mine workings is developed
which allows studying shapes, sizes, quantity and conditions of formation of energy zones and borders of possible
destruction of the massif. Power dependences are established as to changing the sizes of adjacent power zones
whose ratio is a constant from the sizes and shape, depth of laying and physical properties of massif containing mine
working. The thermodynamic theory of massif that is not disturbed by workings is improved by means of considering
the processes of geo-energy streams redistribution and entropy exchanging with allocation into undisturbed massif in
a separate entropy method of research. Further development of the sinusoidal-fading dependence of auto-wave fluctuations
of stresses in massif that broken by mine workings from gradients of density, temperature, gas-and water
saturations of rocks is given.Мета. Обґрунтувати принципи використанням

Acoustic Attenuation by Two-dimensional Arrays of Rigid Cylinders
In this Letter, we present a theoretical analysis of the acoustic
transmission through two-dimensional arrays of straight rigid cylinders placed
parallelly in the air. Both periodic and completely random arrangements of the
cylinders are considered. The results for the sound attenuation through the
periodic arrays are shown to be in a remarkable agreement with the reported
experimental data. As the arrangement of the cylinders is randomized, the
transmission is significantly reduced for a wider range of frequencies. For the
periodic arrays, the acoustic band structures are computed by the plane-wave
expansion method and are also shown to agree with previous results.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Potential for Development and Limitations of Regional Business Environment
The article considers some questions of institutional support for the development of the regional business environment. In connection with constantly growing social liabilities of regional and municipal authorities, which results in the upsurge of risks of budget imbalance at respective levels, the research provides a foundation to the necessity of forming favorable business environment promoting enterprise activity in regions. The process of creating institutes of a region’s business environment is analyzed with applying a matrix institutional model of entrepreneurship. The article reveals the mechanism stipulating the emergence of specific peculiarities of institutional configurations of the regional business environment. A conclusion is drawn about the decisive role of the institutional configuration of the business environment in the existing differences in the levels of social and economic development of regions. The researchers put forward a hypothesis that supporting a favorable institutional configuration of a region’s business environment that stimulates enterprise activity in the area cannot last indefinitely as its development is of a cyclical nature. Simulation parameters for the formation and maintenance of a favorable institutional configuration of the business environment are given. With the aim of practical application of the suggested approach, the authors suggest a methodology allowing for regional authorities to estimate the expediency of favorable institutional configuration of business environment, and on this basis to formulate rules of play for business so that these rules could boost business activity and increase the contribution of entrepreneurship to the region’s social and economic development. The approach under consideration provides an opportunity to substantiate a theoretical and methodological framework for developing practical mechanisms of projecting and further long-term maintenance of favorable institutional configuration of business environment which will contribute to expanding the region’s business activity, and which is resistant to negative effects of the external environment.Work produced with the financial support of the grant FSBI “Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation” in the framework of scientific — research project “Interaction of authority and business organizations in the municipalities: through compromise to mutual loyalty» № 15-12-02008
A model of rotating hotspots for 3:2 frequency ratio of HFQPOs in black hole X-ray binaries
We propose a model to explain a puzzling 3:2 frequency ratio of high
frequency quasi-periodic oscillations (HFQPOs) in black hole (BH) X-ray
binaries, GRO J1655-40, GRS 1915+105 and XTE J1550-564. In our model a
non-axisymmetric magnetic coupling (MC) of a rotating black hole (BH) with its
surrounding accretion disc coexists with the Blandford-Znajek (BZ) process. The
upper frequency is fitted by a rotating hotspot near the inner edge of the
disc, which is produced by the energy transferred from the BH to the disc, and
the lower frequency is fitted by another rotating hotspot somewhere away from
the inner edge of the disc, which arises from the screw instability of the
magnetic field on the disc. It turns out that the 3:2 frequency ratio of HFQPOs
in these X-ray binaries could be well fitted to the observational data with a
much narrower range of the BH spin. In addition, the spectral properties of
HFQPOs are discussed. The correlation of HFQPOs with jets from microquasars is
contained naturally in our model.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures. accepted by MNRA
Diffuse Neutron Scattering Study of Relaxor Ferroelectric (1-x)Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3(PZN-xPT)
Diffuse neutron scattering is a valuable tool to obtain information about the
size and orientation of the polar nanoregions that are a characteristic feature
of relaxor ferroelectrics. In this paper, we present new diffuse scattering
results obtained on Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PZN for short) and
(1-x)Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3(PZN-xPT)single crystals (with x=4.5 and 9%),
around various Bragg reflections and along three symmetry directions in the
[100]-[011] zone. Diffuse scattering is observed around reflections with mixed
indices, (100), (011) and (300), and along transverse and diagonal directions
only. No diffuse scattering is found in longitudinal scans. The diffuse
scattering peaks can be fitted well with a Lorentzian function, from which a
correlation length is extracted. The correlation length increases with
decreasing temperatures down to the transition at Tc, first following a
Curie-Weiss law, then departing from it and becoming flat at very low
temperatures. These results are interpreted in terms of three temperature
regions: 1) dynamic polarization fluctuations (i.e. with a finite lifetime) at
high temperatures, 2) static polarization reorientations (condensation of polar
nanoregions) that can still reorient as a unit (relaxor behavior) at
intermediate temperatures and 3) orientational freezing of the polar
nanoregions with random strain fields in pure PZN or a structural phase
transition in PZN-xPT at low temperatures. The addition of PT leads to a
broadening of the diffuse scattering along the diagonal ([111]) relative to the
transverse ([100]) direction, indicating a change in the orientation of the
polar regions. Also, with the addition of PT, the polar nanoregions condense at
a higher temperature above Tc.Comment: AIP 6x9 style files, 9 pages, 5 figures, Conference-Fundamental

Statistics of Lyapunov exponent in one-dimensional layered systems
Localization of acoustic waves in a one dimensional water duct containing
many randomly distributed air filled blocks is studied. Both the Lyapunov
exponent and its variance are computed. Their statistical properties are also
explored extensively. The results reveal that in this system the single
parameter scaling is generally inadequate no matter whether the frequency we
consider is located in a pass band or in a band gap. This contradicts the
earlier observations in an optical case. We compare the results with two
optical cases and give a possible explanation of the origin of the different
behaviors.Comment: 6 pages revtex file, 6 eps figure
Monoclinic phase in the relaxor-based piezo-/ ferroelectric Pb(MgNb-PbTiO system
A ferroelectric monoclinic phase of space group ( type) has been
discovered in 0.65Pb(MgNb-0.35PbTiO by means of high
resolution synchrotron X-ray diffraction. It appears at room temperature in a
single crystal previously poled under an electric field of 43 kV/cm applied
along the pseudocubic [001] direction, in the region of the phase diagram
around the morphotropic phase boundary between the rhombohedral (R3m) and the
tetragonal (P4mm) phases. The monoclinic phase has lattice parameters a = 5.692
A, b = 5.679 A, c = 4.050 A and = , with the b-axis
oriented along the pseudo-cubic [110] direction . It is similar to the
monoclinic phase observed in PbZrTiO, but different from that
recently found in Pb(ZnNb-PbTiO, which is of space
group ( type).Comment: Revised version after referees' comments. PDF file. 6 pages, 4
