    The effect of self-evaluation skills in developing the quality of individual performance Action Research

    Grade 12 students participated in a study that looks to answer the question" does use of self-assessment skills as teaching technique improve student the quality of individual achievement and performance and their attitudes in grade 12 science courses in our schools? Attitudes were measured with a Likert Scale survey "Questionnaire"; while achievement was measured with pre-posttest. The unit included in this study is " Chemical Calculations of the Elements" which is one of the most difficult subjects for the students. The main sources of information were teachers and grade 12 student's book. Students took both a unit test and Likert scale following the instructional period. The results show that using self-assessment skills enhanced and improve the test scores. The Likert scale survey shows that students in the first group like the way of using self-assessment skills and enjoy it. In contrast, the second group which subjected to the traditional way did not like it. Keywords: self-assessment skills, individual performance, quality, schools.     Karakteristik Guru dalam Tradisi Pendidikan Nahdlatul Wathan, Lombok

    This article discusses the characteristics of teacher who teaches Islamic sciences in the perspective of the Nahdlatul Wathan educational tradition, comprehensively. On the other hand, this article is one form of response to the moral degradation of teachers that have recently been rife, especially in Indonesia. This article is the result of qualitative research with a literature approach. Primary data are the books of Tuan Guru Kiai Haji Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid (Sheikh), which include Wasiat Renungan Masa (Book), Batu Ngompal (Book), the struggle song of Nahdlatul Wathan, and the recording of Sheikh's speech during his lifetime. Secondary data consists of scientific journals and relevant research results, as well as Islamic education books, Sufism, tafsīr and hadīth. Data was collected offline and online, then analyzed by using the NVivo 12 Plus software. This study shows that nine characteristics must be possessed by religious teachers who teach in the Nahdlatul Wathan madrasas/pesantrean (Islamic boarding school), namely: murshīd, sincere, obedient, mandate, behave as the teacher's morals, have a clear pedigree (silsilah/sanad), wise and polite in speaking, competent, and straight (istiqamah). This study concludes that the characteristics of the teacher mentioned in the will of the Sheikh are based on the results of contemplation (tafakkur), empirical experience (tajrībah), and extensive knowledge

    Sayyid Ahmad bin Idris al Fasi is well known among the Muslim community in the Malay world. He was a Sufi scholar who mastered various fields of knowledge and was a leading religious scholar in his time. Sayyid Ahmad bin Idris al Fasi established a mission of inviting people to Islam (da’wah), which expanded throughout the world, especially in Southeast Asia, including in Malaya in the past. The success in producing champions of scholars among his students warrants a detailed study of his motivational teaching approach (tarbiyyah). The purpose of this research is to examine Sayyid Ahmad bin Idris al Fasi's tarbiyyah approach and its impact on da’wah in the Malay World. Descriptive methods through library studies and document analysis were used in this study. The findings of the study found that the tarbiyyah approach by Sayyid Ahmad bin Idris al Fasi had triggered an increase in the study of Islamic knowledge as well as the success of producing Zakir Muslims through da’wah in harmony and wisdom. This discussion is hoped to facilitate a deeper understanding of Sayyid Ahmad bin Idris Al Fasi’s credibility, which adds to the body of knowledge that will guide and benefit the entire ummah

    Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendidikan akhlak yang terdapat dalam kitab Mau’izhatul Mu’minin Min Ihya’ ‘Ulumuddin karya Jamaluddin al-Qasimi. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan kaedah kajian kepustakaan. Sumber utama dalam kajian ini adalah Kitab Mauizatul Mu' minin min Ihya’ ‘Ulumuddin. Data-data yang diperoleh kemudian dipilih, dieksplorasi, dipersembahkan, dan dianalisis. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa terdapat tiga bentuk pendidikan akhlak menerusi kitab Mau’izhatul Mu’minin Min Ihya’ ‘Ulumuddin, iaitu: 1) akhlak kepada Allah SWT, 2) akhlak kepada Rasullullah SAW, dan 3) akhlak kepada sesama manusia
