    GRXCR2 Regulates Taperin Localization Critical for Stereocilia Morphology and Hearing

    Mutations in human GRXCR2, which encodes a protein of undetermined function, cause hearing loss by unknown mechanisms. We found that mouse GRXCR2 localizes to the base of the stereocilia, which are actin-based mechanosensing organelles in cochlear hair cells that convert sound-induced vibrations into electrical signals. The stereocilia base also contains taperin, another protein of unknown function required for human hearing. We show that taperin and GRXCR2 form a complex and that taperin is diffused throughout the stereocilia length in Grxcr2-deficient hair cells. Stereocilia lacking GRXCR2 are longer than normal and disorganized due to the mislocalization of taperin, which could modulate the actin cytoskeleton in stereocilia. Remarkably, reducing taperin expression levels could rescue the morphological defects of stereocilia and restore the hearing of Grxcr2-deficient mice. Thus, our findings suggest that GRXCR2 is critical for the morphogenesis of stereocilia and auditory perception by restricting taperin to the stereocilia base

    Gap Anisotropy in Iron-Based Superconductors: A Point-Contact Andreev Reflection Study of BaFe2−x_{2-x}Nix_{x}As2_2 Single Crystals

    We report a systematic investigation on c-axis point-contact Andreev reflection (PCAR) in BaFe2−x_{2-x}Nix_xAs2_2 superconducting single crystals from underdoped to overdoped regions (0.075 ≤x≤0.15\leq x\leq 0.15). At optimal doping (x=0.1x=0.1) the PCAR spectrum feature the structures of two superconducting gap and electron-boson coupling mode. In the s±s\pm scenario, quantitative analysis using a generalized Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk (BTK) formalism with two gaps: one isotropic and another angle dependent, suggest a nodeless state in strong-coupling limit with gap minima on the Fermi surfaces. Upon crossing above the optimal doping (x>0.1x > 0.1), the PCAR spectrum show an in-gap sharp narrow peak at low bias, in contrast to the case of underdoped samples (x<0.1x < 0.1), signaling the onset of deepened gap minima or nodes in the superconducting gap. This result provides evidence of the modulation of the gap amplitude with doping concentration, consistent with the calculations for the orbital dependent pair interaction mediated by the antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

    Since software defined network became a revolution of network, many new developments and deployments are put forward. Device operating in software defined network environment will need a controller to store control policy. As a result of flow is one of traffic presentation units in software defined network, hence, this paper proposed a prototype of flow-based method to measure traffic statistics which can be used in OpenFlow network. By analysis of flow table, active flows which managed by controller can be listed, and information of each flow can be presented with developed module on the controller. After gathered port statistics from OpenFlow switch and entries in flow table, information of each flow can be presented on a developed graphic interface. By using this method, Traffic statistics of each flow may be more adaptive and realizable for measurement for observation

    Design of Hypervelocity-Impact Damage Evaluation Technique Based on Bayesian Classifier of Transient Temperature Attributes

    With the rapid increasement of space debris on earth orbit, the hypervelocity-impact (HVI) of space debris can cause some serious damages to the spacecraft, which can affect the operation security and reliability of spacecraft. Therefore, the damage detection of the spacecrafts has become an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper, a method is proposed to detect the damage of spacecraft. Firstly, a variable-interval method is proposed to extract the effective information from the infrared image sequence. Secondly, in order to mine the physical meaning of the thermal image sequence, five attributes are used to construct a feature space. After that, a Naive Bayesian classifier is established to mine the information of different damaged areas. Then, a maximum interclass distance function is used choose the representative of each class. Finally, in order to visualize damaged areas, the Canny operator is used to extract the edge of the damage. In the experiment, ground tests are used to simulate hypervelocity impacts in space. Historical data of natural damaged material and artificial damaged material are used to build different classifiers. After that, the effective of classifiers is illustrated by accuracy, F-score and AUC. Then, two different types of materials are detected by proposed method, Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Fuzzy C-means (FCM). The results show that the proposed method is more accurate than other methods
