    Gregory of Nyssa and John Wesley's theological dialogue on Christian perfection

    The advent of the third millennium calls for a renewed spirituality. New channels for dialogue in all fields have been opened, especially in theology and religion. This phenomenon generates an intellectual quest to discover the relevance of classical spirituality in the postmodern era. Separated by fourteen centuries, we find that Gregory of Nyssa, a fourth century father, and John Wesley, an eighteen century revivalist, share a certain interest in Christian perfection. They teach us that believers seek to participate in the knowledge, grace, love, and goodness of God in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:12-15). The purpose of this thesis is to explore the notion of Christian perfection and an effect of Christology in the thought of Gregory of Nyssa and John Wesley as a central theme of Christian faith. In discovering essential elements of similarity and difference this thesis will propose "an unity in diversity" in theological dialogue between Gregory and Wesley meaningful for our present ecumenical era, and thus find a real place of Wesley in Christian tradition: He synthesizes a dynamic relationship between the eastern and the western theologies, and creates an ecumenical theology in relation to Christian perfection in the Christian tradition

    Functional analysis of the fructooligosaccharide utilization operon in \u3ci\u3eLactobacillus paracasei\u3c/i\u3e 1195

    The fosABCDXE operon encodes components of a putative fructose/mannose phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent phosphotransferase system (PTS) and a β- fructosidase precursor (FosE) that are involved in the fructooligosaccharide (FOS) utilization pathway of Lactobacillus paracasei 1195. The presence of an N-terminal signal peptide sequence and a LPQAG cell wall anchor motif at the C-terminal region of the deduced FosE precursor amino acid sequence predicted that the enzyme is cell wall-associated, indicating that FOS may be hydrolyzed extracellularly. In this study, cell fractionation experiments demonstrated that the FOS hydrolysis activity was contained exclusively in the cell wall extract of L. paracasei previously grown on FOS. In contrast, no measurable FOS hydrolysis activity was detected in the cell wall extract from the isogenic fosE mutant. Induction of β-fructosidase activity was observed when cells were grown on FOS, inulin, sucrose, or fructose, but not glucose. A diauxic growth pattern was observed when cells were grown on FOS in the presence of limiting glucose (0.1%). Analysis of the culture supernatant revealed that glucose was consumed first, followed by the longer chain FOS species. Transcription analysis further showed that the fos operon was expressed only after glucose was depleted in the medium. Expression of fosE in a non-FOS-fermenting strain, Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, enabled the recombinant strain to metabolize FOS, inulin, sucrose, and levan

    Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh dan Gambaran Struktur modal, ukuran perusahaan dan Keputusan Investasi terhadap Profitabilitas di PT Inocycle Technology Group secara simultan dan parsial serta pengaruh Profitabilis terhadap Nilai Perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif, Verifikatif dan Uji Hipotesis. Metode verifikatif menggunakan metode regresi berganda dan Determinasi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa Perkembangan Struktur modal PT Inocycle Technology Group dengan perhitungan menggunakan debt to equity ratio sebesar 1.5233 atau sebesar 150% Selanjutnya perkembangan Ukuran Perusahaan PT Inocycle Technology Group dalam kategori perusahaan besar selanjutnya Nilai rata rata keputusan investasi dengan perhitungan menggunakan total asset growth sebesar 12.3% hal ini menunjukan bahwa total assets growth di PT Inocycle Technology Group berada dalam kategori baik. Nilai rata rata Profitabilitas dengan perhitungan net profit margin sebesar 2.8%. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa Profitabilitas di PT Inocycle Technology Group berada dalam kategori rendah. Rata rata perkembangan nilai perusahaan yang dihitung berdasarkan PBV di PT Inocycle Technology Group sebesar 1.5 hal ini menunjukan bahwa nilai Perusahaan di PT Inocycle Technology Group berada dalam kategori overvalued. Selanjutnya Struktur modal, Ukuran perusahaan dan Keputusan Investasi secara simultan berpengaruh siginifikan terhadap Profitabilitas PT Inocycle Technology Group baik secara simultan dan parsial.     A critical review on sustainable biochar system through gasification: energy and environmental applications

    This review lays great emphasis on production and characteristics of biochar through gasification. Specifically, the physicochemical properties and yield of biochar through the diverse gasification conditions associated with various types of biomass were extensively evaluated. In addition, potential application scenarios of biochar through gasification were explored and their environmental implications were discussed. To qualitatively evaluate biochar sustainability through the gasification process, all gasification products (i.e., syngas and biochar) were evaluated via life cycle assessment (LCA). A concept of balancing syngas and biochar production for an economically and environmentally feasible gasification system was proposed and relevant challenges and solutions were suggested in this review
