MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION-MAKING METHODS FOR SUPPLIER SELECTION: A LITERATURE REVIEW

    No full text
A firm’s multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) process is important because of its need to select and work with various suppliers. The process identifies the problems associated with selecting the supplier, , determining convenient criteria, expressing interactions clearly, and usage. These are all suitable methods for finding a solution to these MCDM problems. Considering more than one criterion (and even the sub-criteria of these criteria) during supplier selection makes the selection uncertain. Conventional methods cannot generate a realistic solution to the problem. Using MCDM methods considerably simplifies solving the problem, and enables decision-makers to make better decisions. In this study, a literature review was performed on MCDM methods used between 2001 and 2014 for the supplier selection problem. MCDM methods used in supplier selection are categorised into three main methods, and a summary table of the reviewed studies is presented

WOS: 000167818100020PubMed ID: 11310675An HPLC method permitting the first simultaneous detection of 5 marker compounds (salidroside, rosarin, rosavin, rosin, rosiridin) of R, rosea was developed, A separation was achieved within 27 min by using C-18 column material, a phosphate buffer/acetonitrile gradient system and at a separation temperature of 60 degreesC. All five compounds could be detected at concentrations as low as 0.62 mug/ml and were clearly assignable in R. rosea plant material and commercial products. Therefore, this quantitative and qualitative applicability of the method offers efficient and reliable means for the evaluation of R. rosea and products thereof

Turkish textile firms work under a heavily competitive atmosphere in terms of prices due to globalisation. Firms have to take into consideration several criteria in order to survive the global market conditions and to maintain profitability. Contractor companies have to select the optimal subcontractor in order to meet these criteria and in business. Therefore the decision to choose subcontractors is of great importance for the success of enterprises. In solving the problem of subcontractor selection, multiple criteria should be considered, for which multi-criteria decision-making methods are used. This paper presents a case study which regards the selection of the optimal subcontractor for a Turkish textile firm. In order to solve the selection problem generalized Choquet integral methodology was used based on a hierarchical decision model. In the conclusion section of the study, optimal subcontractor selection results are presented.W wyniku globalizacji przedsiębiorstwa tureckie pracują w warunkach zintensyfikowanej konkurencji, w związku z tym muszą brać pod uwagę zróżnicowane kryteria dla utrzymania się na rynku. W podsumowaniu pracy przedstawiono optymalne metody selekcji poddostawców

In today's world where intensive competition exists between enterprises, it is of great importance to work in cooperation with the right suppliers. Selection of the right suppliers is a significant factor in the success of enterprises. In the selection of the best supplier (s), the strengths and weaknesses of potential suppliers should be taken into consideration. Many qualitative and quantitative criteria are included in this selection process as well as the decision-maker. One of the issues that leaves the decision maker in a difficult position is selecting the most appropriate one from the alternatives available, as traditional methods may not produce a realistic solution in this process. However, multicriteria decision making methods facilitate the process of finding a solution and enable decision makers to reach the right decisions. In this study, the fuzzy TOPSIS method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision making methods, is used in this problem area to select the most appropriate supplier of garment 'X' operating in Turkey. It is detected through analyses conducted in line with the results obtained. The ranking of the three supplier firms determined by firm X are as follows in terms of closeness index values: supplier 1, supplier 3 and supplier 2.Dla uzyskania powodzenia w prowadzeniu przedsiębiorstw bardzo ważna jest współpraca z odpowiednimi dostawcami.

Although water use has been increasing day by day depending on fast population increase, urbanization and industrialization in the world, potential of usable water resources remains stable. On the other side, expansion of agricultural activities, industrialization, urbanization, global warming and climate change create a big pressure on current water resources. Therefore, management of water resources is one of the most significant problems of today that is required to be solved and ‘’Integrated Basin Management’’ has gained importance in the world in terms of decreasing environmental problems by more efficiently using current water resources. In order to achieve integrated basin management, it is needed to determine basin boundaries with sufficient accuracy and precision and encode them systematically. In various analyses to be done on the basis of basin, topographic parameters are also needed such as shape factor, bifurcation ratio, drainage frequency, drainage density, length of the main flow path, harmonic slope, average slope, time of concentration, hypsometric curve and maximum elevation difference. Nowadays, basin boundaries are obtained with digital elevation models in geographical information systems. However, tools developed for topographic parameters are not available. In this study, programs were written in Python programming language for afore-mentioned topographic parameters and each turned into a geographical information system tool. Therefore, a significant contribution has been made to the subject by completing the deficiency in the geographical information system devoted to the topographic parameters that are needed in almost every analyses concerning to the hydrology

WOS: 000088382300011The fluorescent properties of several natural benzofuran derivatives, egonols, isolated from Styrax officinalis, were determined. The studied egonol derivatives were found to be effective UV organic luminophores, with quantum yields of near to unity, phi(f) = 0.92. The fluorescence quenching experiments with electron donor molecules of aniline, N,N-dimethylaniline and carbazolocarbazole, presented very high efficiency of quenching at above diffusion quenching rates of 4.5x10(10), 2.1x10(x) and 5.6x10(12) s(-1)mol(-1), respectively. A strong electron acceptor molecule, tetranitrofluorenone, presented quenching rate of 2.6x10(11) s(-1)mol(-1). It is concluded that the first excited singlet state of egonol molecule is a more efficient electron acceptor
