    Self-monitoring Intervention of Problem Behavior of Students with ADHD Learning in Regular Classroom in China

    The number of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is increasing in China, whose inattention, disorganization, and impaired hyperactivity cause challenges for their study and teachers’ teaching activities in classroom. The study applied self-monitoring intervention for two children with ADHD learning in a primary school to improve their problem behaviors. We found self-monitoring intervention was likely to reduce their off-task behaviors, even for students with ADHD and ASD. Practical implication of the intervention is discussed in the paper

    Impact of Fibronectin Knockout on Proliferation and Differentiation of Human Infrapatellar Fat Pad-Derived Stem Cells

    Fibronectin plays an essential role in tissue development and regeneration. However, the effects of fibronectin knockout (FN1-KO) on stem cells’ proliferation and differentiation remain unknown. In this study, CRISPR/Cas9 generated FN1-KO in human infrapatellar fat pad-derived stem cells (IPFSCs) was evaluated for proliferation ability including cell cycle and surface markers as well as stemness gene expression and for differentiation capacity including chondrogenic and adipogenic differentiation. High passage IPFSCs were also evaluated for proliferation and differentiation capacity after expansion on decellularized ECM (dECM) deposited by FN1-KO cells. Successful FN1-KO in IPFSCs was confirmed by Sanger sequencing and Inference of CRISPR Edits analysis (ICE) as well as immunostaining for fibronectin expression. Compared to the GFP control, FN1-KO cells showed an increase in cell growth, percentage of cells in the S and G2 phases, and CD105 and CD146 expression but a decrease in expression of stemness markers CD73, CD90, SSEA4, and mesenchymal condensation marker CDH2 gene. FN1-KO decreased both chondrogenic and adipogenic differentiation capacity. Interestingly, IPFSCs grown on dECMs deposited by FN1-KO cells exhibited a decrease in cell proliferation along with a decline in CDH2 expression. After induction, IPFSCs plated on dECMs deposited by FN1-KO cells also displayed decreased expression of both chondrogenic and adipogenic capacity. We concluded that FN1-KO increased human IPFSCs’ proliferation capacity; however, this capacity was reversed after expansion on dECM deposited by FN1-KO cells.     This work aims to improve the accuracy of state of charge estimation for lithium-ion battery, as well as to accurately estimate state of health. This study presents a piecewise forgetting factor recursive least squares method based on integral separation with a second-order resistor-capacitor model and uses a novel adaptive filter based on error covariance correction on the conventional dual extended Kalman filter. The experiments show that the error of SOC estimation is less than 0.61% and the error of SOH is less than 0.09% under different complex conditions, the proposed method can effectively improve the estimation accuracy and robustness

    The relationship of inclusive climate and peers' attitude on children with disabilities in China: A mediating role of empathy

    ObjectivePeer attitude towards children with disabilities can significantly impact on the successful implementation of inclusive education. The current study examined the attitude of Chinese students toward peers with disabilities in relation to inclusive climate and empathy.MethodA total of 392 typically developing students (aging from 10 to 17 years old, with average age of 12.7) in primary and middle schools participated in the study by reporting the Inclusive Climate Scale, Peers Attitude to Students with Disabilities Scale, and Balanced Emotional Empathy Scale.ResultsWe found that students held a neutral attitude to peers with disabilities, and girls were more acceptable than boys. There were positive relationships among inclusive climate, empathy and attitude to classmates with disabilities. The mediation analysis showed that empathy played a partial mediation role between inclusive climate and the peers' attitude towards children with disabilities.ConclusionImplications for improving students' attitude on peers with disabilities were discussed in the paper

    Secure Single-Server Fuzzy Deduplication without Interactive Proof-of-Ownership in Cloud

    The redundant of multimedia data made an unnecessary waste in encrypted cloud storage, unlike text with completely consistent content, multimedia data allows a certain degree of similarity in deduplication, In this work, we focus on the multimedia data which takes a seriously proportion of storage in scenarios such as data outsourcing to propose secure fuzzy deduplication without the additional servers based on Convergent Encryption(CE), say the Single-server Fuzzy Deduplication (SSFD). Compared to the related fuzzy deduplication, SSFD is strong at resisting brute-force attacks caused by server-server collusion, moreover, we also put server-client collusion attacks into security solutions. Additionally, to enhance the security of data, the proposed scheme provides both protection against replay attacks and verification of label consistency and adds no extra communication such as Proof of Ownership(PoW) in interaction. We separately presented a formal security analysis and performed performance at last to prove security solutions and evaluate the experimental results, it shows SSFD provides both a reliable fuzzy images secure deduplication protocol and a computationally feasible solution

    Incorporating productivity loss in health economic evaluations : a review of guidelines and practices worldwide for research agenda in China

    Introduction: Productivity loss may contribute to a large proportion of costs of health conditions in an economic evaluation from a societal perspective, but there is currently a lack of methodological consensus on how productivity loss should be measured and valued. Despite the research progress surrounding this issue in other countries, it has been rarely discussed in China. Methods: We reviewed the official guidelines on economic evaluations in different countries and regions and screened the literature to summarise the extent to which productivity loss was incorporated in economic evaluations and the underlying methodological challenges. Results: A total of 48 guidelines from 46 countries/regions were included. Although 32 (67%) guidelines recommend excluding productivity loss in the base case analysis, 23 (48%) guidelines recommend including productivity loss in the base case or additional analyses. Through a review of systematic reviews and the economic evaluation studies included in these reviews, we found that the average probability of incorporating productivity loss in an economic evaluation was 10.2%. Among the economic evaluations (n=478) that explicitly considered productivity loss, most (n=455) considered losses from paid work, while only a few studies (n=23) considered unpaid work losses. Recognising the existing methodological challenges and the specific context of China, we proposed a practical research agenda and a disease list for progress on this topic, including the development of the disease list comprehensively consisting of health conditions where the productivity loss should be incorporated into economic evaluations. Conclusion: An increasing number of guidelines recommend the inclusion of productivity loss in the base case or additional analyses of economic evaluation. We optimistically expect that more Chinese researchers notice the importance of incorporating productivity loss in economic evaluations and anticipate guidelines that may be suitable for Chinese practitioners and decision-makers that facilitate the advancement of research on productivity loss measurement and valuation

    Characterization of DNA Methylation Associated Gene Regulatory Networks During Stomach Cancer Progression

    DNA methylation plays a critical role in tumorigenesis through regulating oncogene activation and tumor suppressor gene silencing. Although extensively analyzed, the implication of DNA methylation in gene regulatory network is less characterized. To address this issue, in this study we performed an integrative analysis on the alteration of DNA methylation patterns and the dynamics of gene regulatory network topology across distinct stages of stomach cancer. We found the global DNA methylation patterns in different stages are generally conserved, whereas some significantly differentially methylated genes were exclusively observed in the early stage of stomach cancer. Integrative analysis of DNA methylation and network topology alteration yielded several genes which have been reported to be involved in the progression of stomach cancer, such as IGF2, ERBB2, GSTP1, MYH11, TMEM59, and SST. Finally, we demonstrated that inhibition of SST promotes cell proliferation, suggesting that DNA methylation-associated SST suppression possibly contributes to the gastric cancer progression. Taken together, our study suggests the DNA methylation-associated regulatory network analysis could be used for identifying cancer-related genes. This strategy can facilitate the understanding of gene regulatory network in cancer biology and provide a new insight into the study of DNA methylation at system level

    Spatial pattern evolution and influencing factors of permanent population in the Yangtze River Delta from 2010 to 2020

    Based on the data of the sixth and seventh district-county-scale permanent population censuses, we analyze the population pattern and the influencing factors of the evolution in the Yangtze River Delta from 2010 to 2020. The results show that: (1) The population of the Yangtze River Delta has further concentrated in northeast Zhejiang, southern Jiangsu and southwest Zhejiang, and the proportion of permanent population in Shanghai, northern Jiangsu and central Jiangsu has decreased. (2) The prefecture-level and above cities in the Yangtze River Delta are divided into five types, of which Hangzhou, Suzhou and Ningbo belong to high-growth type. Shanghai belongs to medium-growth type. Changzhou, Taizhou and Xuzhou belong to low-growth type. Taizhou and Huai’an belong to low-reduction type. Yancheng belongs to high-reduction type. (3) The population of north and central Jiangsu are concentrated in the central urban area. The population of the central urban area has decreased in large cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou. (4) The factors influencing the spatial evolution of the permanent population in the Yangtze River Delta are complex and changeable. Based on the research conclusions, we put forward corresponding policy recommendations
