The need to control the risk that accompanies businesses in their day-to-day operations, and at the same time changing economic conditions make risk management an almost indispensable element of economic life. Selection of the main aspects of the selected phases of the risk management process: risk identification and risk assessment are related to their direct relationship with the subject matter (risk identification to be managed; risk analysis leading to the establishment of a risk hierarchy, and, consequently, the definition of risk control’ methods) and its purpose (bringing the risk to acceptable level). It is impossible to identify the basic patterns of development of the oil and gas industry without exploring the relationship between economic processes and enterprise risks. The latter are subject to simulation, and based on models it is possible to determine with certain probability whether there have been qualitative and quantitative changes in the processes, in their mutual influence on each other, etc. The work is devoted to exploring the possibilities of applying the Granger test to examine the causal relationship between the risks and obligations of oil and gas companies. The analysis is based on statistical tests and the use of linear regression models.

BioDATA - Biodiversity Data for Internationalisation in Higher Education

    Get PDF
BioDATA is an international project on developing skills in biodiversity data management and data publishing. Between 2018 and 2021, undergraduate and postgraduate students from Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Ukraine, have an opportunity to take part in the intensive courses to become certified professionals in biodiversity data management. They will gain practical skills and obtain appropriate knowledge on: international data standards (Darwin Core); data cleaning software, data publishing software such as the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT), and preparation of data papers. Working with databases, creating datasets, managing data for statistical analyses and publishing research papers are essential for the everyday tasks of a modern biologist. At the same time, these skills are rarely taught in higher education. Most of the contemporary professionals in biodiversity have to gain these skills independently, through colleagues, or through supervision. In addition, all the participants familiarize themselves with one of the important international research data infrastructures such as the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). The project is coordinated by the University of Oslo (Norway) and supported by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). The project is funded by the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (DIKU)

State regulation in foreign economic activity of cement industry of Ukraine

To specify the problems and priorities of state regulation of foreign economic activity (FEA) of cement industry enterprises of Ukraine, it is proposed to use the tool for assessing the state of FEA of cement industry enterprises, which is based on the expert method. The FEA development index of the cement industry is constructed with the usage of the method of expert assessments and analysis of the hierarchies of significance of each factor. Due to this, it was found that producers underestimate their own abilities to compete in foreign markets regarding the assortment structure, unsatisfactory financial condition, fierce competition and recession in foreign markets, especially traditional for Ukraine; unsatisfactory state policy of support of the development of the cement industry, in particular in terms of transparency of resource provision, assistance in updating the technical and technological base of the industry, the implementation of state infrastructure projects in Ukraine. On this basis, the priorities of state regulation of foreign economic activity of cement industry enterprises were determined by the following groups: sales, institutional and instrumental ones

Strict Substrate Requirements Alongside Rapid Substrate Turnover May Indicate an Early Colonization: A Case Study of Pleurotus calyptratus (Agaricales, Basidiomycota)

Pleurotus calyptratus is a wood-inhabiting oyster mushroom associated with Populus tremula and P. alba. This fungus is rather common in Ukraine, but considered rare in many other European countries. Aiming to find causes for variation in rarity, we conducted habitat mapping and repeated surveys to understand the substrate requirements and fruiting dynamics of P. calyptratus. We showed that fruiting is strictly associated with older trees and early decay stages, and not with physical properties of a tree trunk like volume or position. This timespan of substrate suitability lasts for 1–3 y, determining rapid substrate turnover. We also detected DNA of P. calyptratus in living tissues of visually healthy trees, meaning its latent presence in the hosts, which places the fungus in a position to be a pioneer in a fungal succession. Despite the high spatial and temporal variation in fruiting, five annual surveys demonstrated no significant trends in P. calyptratus population\u27s dynamics, and supported the assumption of random variation in fruiting, driven mostly by dynamics of forest stands. Therefore, we hypothesize that P. calyptratus\u27 relative abundance in Ukraine is explained by continuous substrate supply from large homogenous aspen stands that are rare in the rest of Europe due to intensive management

Personnel certification as a necessary condition for enterprise’ staff development

    No full text
The theoretical research and substantiation of specialists compliance estimation with corporate requirements on the basis of international certification and determination of its role in the system of enterprise’ staff management are carried out in the article. The algorithm of the enterprise’ effect achievement of the preliminary international certification of the personnel involved in oil and gas wells drilling is offered. The relationship between the number of persons trained and certified by International Well Control Forum in Drilling Simulation Center of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and the volume of drilling of oil and gas wells in Ukraine is analyzed. The task was accomplished by means of correlation and regression analysis. The results of the calculations allow us to make sufficiently plausible assumptions about the impact of training and certification on drilling volumes. It is established that the increase in the number of persons certified according to International Well Control Forum for one person will allow to expect the volume of drilling of oil and gas wells by 0.734 thousand metres per year
