More and more the competence concept of school principals have an impact on two conditions, namely: (1) to develop the concept can complement and support each other; and (2) to develop the concept of possible contradict, giving rise to different interpretations. Therefore, this becomes the main issue researchers to identify the competence concept of school principals with adaptation of Jackson-Trochim method that is capable of illustrating the concept of competencies. Results of adaptation Jackson-Trochim method that school principals should have three types of competencies to lead the school effectively and efficiently. Kind of competencies are such as school leadership, instructional leadership, and operational leadership. Based on these results, the adaptationof Jackson-Trochim method to build the competence concept of school principals suggests this concept obtained may serve as a reference for school principals continue to build competencies in the futur

Mobility-Dependence of the Critical Density in Two-Dimensional Systems: An Empirical Relation

For five different electron and hole systems in two dimensions (Si MOSFET's, p-GaAs, p-SiGe, n-GaAs and n-AlAs), the critical density, ncn_c that marks the onset of strong localization is shown to be a single power-law function of the scattering rate 1/τ1/\tau deduced from the maximum mobility. The resulting curve defines the boundary separating a localized phase from a phase that exhibits metallic behavior. The critical density nc→0n_c \to 0 in the limit of infinite mobility.Comment: 2 pages, 1 figur

The embodied carbon of building materials and the energy consumed during construction have a significant impact on the environmental credentials of buildings. The structural systems of a building present opportunities to reduce environmental emissions and energy. In this regard, mass timber materials have considerable potential as sustainable materials over other alternatives such as steel and concrete. The aim of this investigation was to compare the environment impact, energy consumption, and life cycle cost (LCC) of different wood-based materials in identical single-story residential buildings. The materials compared are laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and glued laminated timber (GLT). GLT has less global warming potential (GWP), ozone layer depletion (OLD), and land use (LU), respectively, by 29%, 37%, and 35% than LVL. Conversely, LVL generally has lower terrestrial acidification potential (TAP), human toxicity potential (HTP), and fossil depletion potential (FDP), respectively, by 30%, 17%, and 27%. The comparative outcomes revealed that using LVL reduces embodied energy by 41%. To identify which of these materials is the best alternative, various environmental categories, embodied energy, and cost criteria require further analysis. Therefore, the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method has been applied to enable robust decision-making. The outcome showed that LVL manufacturing using softwood presents the most sustainable choice. These research findings contribute to the body of knowledge about the use of mass timber in construction

Downtime loss due to long set-up time will lead to shorter actual production time. This situation will result in a loss to the company because they could not produce their products as planned. Therefore, set-up time needs to be reduced to maximize the resources invested by the company. The most popular approach to is an approach to improve setup time is Single Minutes of Exchange Die (SMED), developed by Shigeo Shingo in early 1960s. Setup operations were divided by into fundamental types; Internal setup and External setup. By Converting Internal setup to External setup, the company can reduced the setup time and thus, lead to longer actual production time. This paper presents an afford of a Malaysia’s metal stamping company in implementing SMED in their company. The company is a supplier of passenger car’s components to Malaysia’s major car makers. The implementation was carried out by separating Internal and External Setup, converting Internal to External Setup and finally streamlining all aspects of the setup operation. After implemented SMED approach, the company managed to reduce their set-up time from 32 minutes to 12 minutes. However, the company still working hard to achieve the objective of SMED, which is to complete all changeovers are in a single number of minutes or less than 10 minutes

This study examined numericallythe Thermal-hydrodynamic properties of airflow in the fin-and-tube compact heat exchangers (FTCHEs) with considering different shapes of tubes in lowReynoldsnumbers. The influence of applying flat, oval and circular tube adjustments on the thermal and hydraulic characteristics of air flow were analyzed on the in-line tube arrangements. Establishing standard conditions, the study compared different geometries based on circular tubes of 10.459 mm diameter tubes with 25.4 mm longitudinal pitches and 25.4 mm transverse pitches. The other geometries of tubes were assumed in a stable and constant state preparing the same heat transfer surface area per unit volume as that of the nominal case. The results showed that the FTCHE with flat tubes gives the best area goodness factor (j/f) with in a certainrange of Reynoldsnumbers. In addition, FTCHE with flat tubes shown the best thermo-hydraulic performance and a significant augmentation of up to 10.83% and 35.63% in the average area goodness factor achieved accompanied by a decrease in the average friction factor of 17.02% and 43.41% in the flat tube case compared to the oval and circle tube shapes, respectively. It is concluded that the average area goodness factorfor the oval tube is about 25.04% higher than that of the circular tube, while the average friction factor for the oval tube is about 26.9% lower than that of the circular tube. This means that the flat tube has a better-combined thermal-hydraulic performance than the oval and circle tube

Theft is an act taking someone else's property, partially or entierely, with intention to have it illegally. Motor vehicle theft is one of the most highlighted crime type and disturbing the communities. Regression analysis is a statistical analysis for modeling the relationships between response variable and predictor variable. If the response variable follows a Poisson distribution or categorized as a count data, so the regression model used is Poisson regression. Geographically Weighted Poisson Regression (GWPR) is a local form of Poisson regression where data sampling location is prioritized. GWPR model is used for identifying the factors that influence the numbers of motor vehicles theft, either using a weighted gauss kernel function or bisquare kernel function. Based on the value of Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) of Poisson regression and GWPR model, it is analyzed that GWPR model using a weighted fixed bisquare kernel function is the best model for analyzing the number of motor vehicles theft at every Sub-Districts in the Semarang city in 2012, because it has the smallest AIC value. This model has a precision of 88,81%
