    Performance Comparison between Conventional PI and PI-Like Fuzzy Speed Controller for Three Phase Induction Motor

    Three-phase induction motor (IM) plays a very important role in today's industry due to its robustness, compact size, low cost, little maintenance requirement, and other features that give it advantage over other types of motors. In industrial applications, it is very important to have a control over IM speed to get a steady response. In this work, dynamic model of three phase induction motor is introduced and simulated using (direct-quadrature) dq transformation in stationary reference frame. Fuzzy logic Controller (FLC) is designed and compared with conventional Proportional Integral (PI) controller. Speed error and its integral are used as inputs to the controller where change in frequency is the output obtained and fed to the inverter to regulate its frequency in order to achieve the desired voltages which control the speed of motor. From results, it is shown that the performance of IM with FLC is more stable than with conventional PI, the speed almost has to be constant even though load torque is applied at specific instant because of the instantaneous response of FLC

    HER2/neu expression status of post BCG recurrent non-muscle-invasive bladder urothelial carcinomas in relation to their primary ones

    Background: Transurethral resection (TUR) followed by adjuvant therapy is still the treatment of choice of Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma (NMIBUC). However, recurrence is one of the most troublesome features of these lesions. Early second resection and adjuvant BCG therapy has been shown to improve the outcome. Objective: To evaluate the prognostic value of C-erbB-2 (HER2/neu) expression status in Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma cases, before and after intravesical Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG immunotherapy). Materials and methods: HER2/neu expression was studied in 120 (Ta-T1) Non-Muscle-Invasive Urothelial Carcinoma cases. The expression was evaluated and compared to the expression after Bacillus Calmette Guerin (BCG) immunotherapy. Results: HER2/neu expression in low and high grade of the Non- Muscle-Invasive Urothelial Carcinoma was (38%) and (83%) respectively. The difference of the expression rates by tumor grade was statistically significant. In recurring lesions post BCG therapy, C-erbB-2 expression was markedly decreased (31.6%) when compared to its expression before therapy (65%). Conclusions: The HER2/neu expression increased as the tumor grade rose. The reduction in expression following BCG treatment in Non-Invasive transitional cell carcinoma cases could reflect a reduction of the potential malignancy of the tumor

    Scheduling of Application for Siteplan Authorization Permit Case of Licensing Process at Investment and Integrated Licensing Services Office in Sleman Regency

    The permit process must comply with laws and regulations. The permit functions as controlling and supervising tool from the government of activities in certain cases based on the guidelines that must be implemented. The permit also functions as a disciplinarian and regulator in accordance with the law in the administration of government. In the process, several constrains or obstacles often occur in terms of the period of the process as well as technical and non-technical constrains. In this research, an analysis of the scheduling of the site plan permit approval process is based on field data related to the site plan permit approval process with the PERT method. The data used are primary data in the form of interviews and filling in the form of questions and secondary data in the form of a site plan approval process flow. The data that has been collected is then processed and analyzed in several stages. First, calculate the expected time period (te) using interview data and the results of filling in the expected time period (te), so that the expected time period for each activity will be found in accordance with the site plan approval process flow. Second, determine the dependency relationship between activities. In this stage, the relationship between each activity is determined. Third, create a network by changing the existing site authorization process flow into a form of network planning. The results of the schedule using the PERT method are a period of 38 days with alternatives that can be done to reach the time (Tx) of 18 working days in accordance with the Regent Regulations. In addition, the probability of the overall activity being completed is 0.8531 or 85.31%

    Validation of the French version of the Forms of Self‐Criticizing/Attacking and Self‐Reassuring Scale

    International audienceAbstractBackgroundSelf‐criticism and self‐reassurance are internal processes of self‐to‐self relating that have received increasing attention in psychology. The Forms of Self‐Criticizing/Attacking and Self‐Reassuring Scale (FSCRS), which was first studied by Gilbert, Clarke, Hempel, Miles, and Irons, is a self‐report instrument that has been used in various populations and has shown satisfactory reliability. The goal of this work is to explore the psychometric properties of a French version of the scale in a large nonclinical sample.MethodData from 285 nonclinical participants were analysed.ResultsConfirmatory factor analysis indicated an acceptable to good fit of the FSCRS items to a three‐factor model. Good internal consistency and convergent validity were found.ConclusionsThe French validation results corroborate previous findings in a nonclinical population and confirm that the French version of the FSCRS is a robust and reliable instrument

    The intersubunit lock-and-key motif in human glutathione transferase A1-1: role of the key residues Met(51) and Phe(52) in function and dimer stability

    The dimeric structure of certain cytosolic GSTs (glutathione S-transferases) is stabilized by a hydrophobic lock-and-key motif at their subunit interface. In hGSTA1-1 (human class Alpha GST with two type-1 subunits), the key consists of two residues, Met(51) and Phe(52), that fit into a hydrophobic cavity (lock) in the adjacent subunit. SEC (size-exclusion chromatography)–HPLC, far-UV CD and tryptophan fluorescence of the M51A and M51A/F52S mutants indicated the non-disruptive nature of these mutations on the global structure. While the M51A mutant retained 80% of wild-type activity, the activity of the M51A/F52S was markedly diminished, indicating the importance of Phe(52) in maintaining the correct conformation at the active site. The M51A and M51A/F52S mutations altered the binding of ANS (8-anilinonaphthalene-l-sulphonic acid) at the H-site by destabilizing helix 9 in the C-terminal region. Data from urea unfolding studies show that the dimer is destabilized by both mutations and that the dimer dissociates to aggregation-prone monomers at low urea concentrations before global unfolding. Although not essential for the assembly of the dimeric structure of hGSTA1-1, both Met(51) and Phe(52) in the intersubunit lock-and-key motif play important structural roles in maintaining the catalytic and ligandin functions and stability of the GST dimer
