Baltic Journal of Economic Studies, 4(4), 244-251. https://doi.org/10.30525/2256-0742/2018-4-4-244-251.Метою статті є виявлення, опис та пояснення сутності тероризму як загальноцивілізаційного кримінального феномена, характеристик вимірів його відтворення і формування його концепції на цій основі.The objective of the article is to identify, describe, and explain the essence of terrorism as a general civilizational criminal phenomenon, the characteristics of dimensions of its reproduction and the formation of its concept on this basis. The results of the study provided the grounds for several conclusions. First, ethno-religious terrorism is manifested as a cultural phenomenon, a special segment of the inhumane discourse of hostility and aggressive social practices. It appears as a reaction to the systemic planetary crisis of managing economics, culture, consumption of natural resources, and becomes possible in the result of the massive loss of identity, fragmentation of the world-view. Secondly, we have established that the specified type of terrorism is a segment of aggressive and violent crime, in the collective and psychological basis of which there is the religious and ideological and/or ethnic domination in the systems of socio-political practice, which is achieved through intimidation as a result of committed murders, destruction or damage to property, objects of nature and offenses of a preventive nature (financial, human resources, information, and other provision). Thirdly, ethno-religious terrorism exists within three dimensions: individual (the act of sacrifice, catharsis), group (integration, social orientation) and general (administrative practice, political criminal activity, the postmodern phenomenon of the culture). The applied value of the study is that the suggested vision of the nature and dimensions of ethno-religious terrorism can be used to improve the systemic principles of counteracting its reproduction.The latter should be reflected in the improvement of the provisions of the United Nations Global Counterterrorism Strategy through the consolidation of a coherent, coordinated system of level differentiation of anti-terrorist activities' directions and measures. We note that without changing the basic approaches within the cultural, political, and economic aspects of the interaction of nations and peoples of the world with regard to their diversity and parity, proper autonomy, without stopping the global tendency towards marginalization, it is impossible to effectively counteract to ethno-religious terrorism. Value/originality. The new vision of a complex, multidimensional nature of ethno-religious terrorism has been formed in the work. Its nature is grounded as a civilizational phenomenon reflected on the level of discourse, mass social practices, global managerial strategies. It forms an empirically grounded theoretical basis for increasing the effectiveness of counteracting ethno-religious terrorism in Europe and the world in the whole.Целью статьи является выявление, описание и объяснение сущности терроризма как общецивилизационного криминального феномена, характеристик измерений его воспроизводства и формирования его концепции на этой основе

    Forward K+ production in subthreshold pA collisions at 1.0 GeV

    Get PDF
    K+ meson production in pA (A = C, Cu, Au) collisions has been studied using the ANKE spectrometer at an internal target position of the COSY-Juelich accelerator. The complete momentum spectrum of kaons emitted at forward angles, theta < 12 degrees, has been measured for a beam energy of T(p)=1.0 GeV, far below the free NN threshold of 1.58 GeV. The spectrum does not follow a thermal distribution at low kaon momenta and the larger momenta reflect a high degree of collectivity in the target nucleus.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

    Search for Bs0γγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\gamma\gamma and a measurement of the branching fraction for Bs0ϕγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\phi\gamma

    Full text link
    We search for the decay Bs0γγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\gamma\gamma and measure the branching fraction for Bs0ϕγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\phi\gamma using 121.4~fb1\textrm{fb}^{-1} of data collected at the Υ(5S)\Upsilon(\mathrm{5}S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^{+}e^{-} collider. The Bs0ϕγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\phi\gamma branching fraction is measured to be (3.6±0.5(stat.)±0.3(syst.)±0.6(fs))×105(3.6 \pm 0.5 (\mathrm{stat.}) \pm 0.3 (\mathrm{syst.}) \pm 0.6 (f_{s})) \times 10^{-5}, where fsf_{s} is the fraction of Bs()Bˉs()B_{s}^{(*)}\bar{B}_{s}^{(*)} in bbˉb\bar{b} events. Our result is in good agreement with the theoretical predictions as well as with a recent measurement from LHCb. We observe no statistically significant signal for the decay Bs0γγB_{s}^{0}\rightarrow\gamma\gamma and set a 90%90\% confidence-level upper limit on its branching fraction at 3.1×106 3.1 \times 10^{-6}. This constitutes a significant improvement over the previous result.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure

    Search for B+ -> l+ nu gamma decays with hadronic tagging using the full Belle data sample

    Full text link
    We search for the decay B+ -> l+ nu gamma with l+ = e+ or mu+ using the full Belle data set of 772 x 10^6 BBbar pairs, collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a hadronic decay mode and search for the B+ -> l+ nu gamma decay in the remainder of the event. We observe no significant signal within the phase space of E_gamma^sig > 1 GeV and obtain upper limits of BR(B+ -> e+ nu gamma) mu+ nu gamma) l+ nu gamma) < 3.5 x 10^-6 at 90 % credibility level.Comment: Submitted to Phys.     Using a sample of 771.6×106771.6 \times 10^{6} Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) decays collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB e+ee^+e^- collider, we observe for the first time the transition Υ(4S)ηhb(1P)\Upsilon(4S) \to \eta h_b(1P) with the branching fraction B[Υ(4S)ηhb(1P)]=(2.18±0.11±0.18)×103{\cal B}[\Upsilon(4S) \to \eta h_b(1P)]= (2.18 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.18) \times 10^{-3} and we measure the hb(1P)h_b(1P) mass Mhb(1P)=(9899.3±0.4±1.0)M_{h_{b}(1P)} = (9899.3 \pm 0.4 \pm 1.0) MeV/c2c^{2}, corresponding to the hyperfine splitting ΔMHF(1P)=(0.6±0.4±1.0)\Delta M_{\mathrm HF}(1P) = (0.6 \pm 0.4 \pm 1.0) MeV/c2c^{2}. Using the transition hb(1P)γηb(1S)h_b(1P) \to \gamma \eta_b(1S), we measure the ηb(1S)\eta_b(1S) mass Mηb(1S)=(9400.7±1.7±1.6)M_{\eta_{b}(1S)} = (9400.7 \pm 1.7 \pm 1.6) MeV/c2c^{2}, corresponding to ΔMHF(1S)=(59.6±1.7±1.6)\Delta M_{\mathrm HF}(1S) = (59.6 \pm 1.7 \pm 1.6) MeV/c2c^{2}, the ηb(1S)\eta_b(1S) width Γηb(1S)=(85+6±5)\Gamma_{\eta_{b}(1S)} = (8 ^{+6}_{-5} \pm 5) MeV/c2c^{2} and the branching fraction B[hb(1P)γηb(1S)]=(56±8±4)%{\cal B}[h_b(1P) \to \gamma \eta_b(1S)]= (56 \pm 8 \pm 4) \%.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures, submitted to Phys.     Measurement of the direct CPCP asymmetry in BˉXs+dγ\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{s+d}\gamma decays with a lepton tag

    Full text link
    We report the measurement of the direct CPCP asymmetry in the radiative BˉXs+dγ\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{s+d}\gamma decay using a data sample of (772±11)×106(772 \pm 11)\times 10^6 BBˉB\bar{B} pairs collected at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. The CPCP asymmetry is measured as a function of the photon energy threshold. For Eγ2.1 GeVE^{\rm{*}}_{\gamma} \geq 2.1~{\rm{GeV}}, where EγE^{\rm{*}}_{\gamma} is the photon energy in the center-of-mass frame, we obtain ACP(BˉXs+dγ)=(2.2±3.9±0.9)%\mathcal{A}_{CP}(\bar{B}\rightarrow X_{s+d}\gamma)= (2.2 \pm 3.9 \pm 0.9) \%, consistent with the Standard Model prediction.Comment: Published at PR

    Full text link
    We report the analysis of the three-body e+e- => B B-bar pi, B B*-bar pi, and B* B*-bar pi processes, including the first observation of the Zb+-(10610) =>[B B*-bar+c.c.]+- and Zb+-(10650) => [B*B*-bar]+- transitions. We measure visible cross sections for the three-body production of sigma_vis(e+e- => [B B*-bar+c.c.]+-pi-+=(11.2+-1.0(stat.)+-1.2(syst.)) pb and sigma_vis(e+e- => [B*B*-bar]+-pi-+)=(5.61+-0.73(stat.)+-0.66(syst.)) pb and set a 90% C.L. upper limit of sigma_vis(e+e- => [BB-bar]+-pi-+)<2.1 pb. The results are based on a 121.4 1/fb data sample collected with the Belle detector at a center-of-mass energy near the Y(5S) peak.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figure
