We measure the branching fractions for seven Ds+D_{s}^{+} two-body decays to pseudo-scalar mesons, by analyzing data collected at s=4.1784.226\sqrt{s}=4.178\sim4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The branching fractions are determined to be B(Ds+K+η)=(2.68±0.17±0.17±0.08)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K^+\eta^{\prime})=(2.68\pm0.17\pm0.17\pm0.08)\times10^{-3}, B(Ds+ηπ+)=(37.8±0.4±2.1±1.2)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to\eta^{\prime}\pi^+)=(37.8\pm0.4\pm2.1\pm1.2)\times10^{-3}, B(Ds+K+η)=(1.62±0.10±0.03±0.05)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K^+\eta)=(1.62\pm0.10\pm0.03\pm0.05)\times10^{-3}, B(Ds+ηπ+)=(17.41±0.18±0.27±0.54)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to\eta\pi^+)=(17.41\pm0.18\pm0.27\pm0.54)\times10^{-3}, B(Ds+K+KS0)=(15.02±0.10±0.27±0.47)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K^+K_S^0)=(15.02\pm0.10\pm0.27\pm0.47)\times10^{-3}, B(Ds+KS0π+)=(1.109±0.034±0.023±0.035)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K_S^0\pi^+)=(1.109\pm0.034\pm0.023\pm0.035)\times10^{-3}, B(Ds+K+π0)=(0.748±0.049±0.018±0.023)×103\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K^+\pi^0)=(0.748\pm0.049\pm0.018\pm0.023)\times10^{-3}, where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are from external input branching fraction of the normalization mode Ds+K+Kπ+D_s^+\to K^+K^-\pi^+. Precision of our measurements is significantly improved compared with that of the current world average values

Overview of Strategies to Improve Therapy against Tumors Using Natural Killer Cell

    No full text
NK cells are lymphocytes with antitumor properties and can directly lyse tumor cells in a non-MHC-restricted manner. However, the tumor microenvironment affects the immune function of NK cells, which leads to immune evasion. This may be related to the pathogenesis of some diseases. Therefore, great efforts have been made to improve the immunotherapy effect of natural killer cells. NK cells from different sources can meet different clinical needs, in order to minimize the inhibition of NK cells and maximize the response potential of NK cells, for example, modification of NK cells can increase the number of NK cells in tumor target area, change the direction of NK cells, and improve their targeting ability to malignant cells. Checkpoint blocking is also a promising strategy for NK cells to kill tumor cells. Combination therapy is another strategy for improving antitumor ability, especially in combination with oncolytic viruses and nanomaterials. In this paper, the mechanisms affecting the activity of NK cells were reviewed, and the therapeutic potential of different basic NK cell strategies in tumor therapy was focused on. The main strategies for improving the immune function of NK cells were described, and some new strategies were proposed

Synergistic ultrasonic biophysical effect-responsive nanoparticles for enhanced gene delivery to ovarian cancer stem cells

Ovarian cancer stem cells (OCSCs) that are a subpopulation within bulk tumor survive chemotherapy and conduce to chemo-resistance and tumor relapse. However, conventional gene delivery is unsuitable for the on-demand content release, which limits OCSCs therapeutic utility. Here, we reported ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction (UTMD)-triggerable poly(ethylene glycol)-disulfide bond-polyethylenimine loaded microbubble (PSP@MB). Taking advantage of glutathione (GSH) responsiveness, ultrasound triggering and spatiotemporally controlled release manner, PSP@MB is expected to realize local gene delivery for OCSCs treatment. But the biophysical mechanisms of gene delivery via PSP@MB and ultrasound remain unknown. The aim of this study is to determine the potential of gene delivery to OCSCs via ultrasonic synergistic biophysical effects and GSH-sensitive PSP@MB. The GSH-sensitive disulfide bond cleavable properties of PSP@MB were confirmed by 1H NMR spectra and infrared spectroscopy. The biophysical mechanisms between PSP@MB and cells were confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) to optimize the ultrasonic gene delivery system. The gene transfection via ultrasound and PSP@MB was closely related to the biophysical mechanisms (sonoporation, enhanced-endocytosis, sonoprinting, and endosomal escape). Ultrasound combined with PSP@MB successfully delivered aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH1) short hairpin RNA (shRNA) plasmid to OCSCs and promoted apoptosis of OCSCs. The gene transfection rate and apoptosis rate were (18.41 ± 2.41)% and (32.62 ± 2.36)% analyzed by flow cytometry separately. This study showed that ultrasound triggering and GSH responsive PSP@MB might provide a novel strategy for OCSCs treatment via sonoporation and enhanced-endocytosis

Prognostic Nutritional Index and Major Cardiovascular Events in Patients Undergoing Invasive Coronary Angiography: A Clinical Retrospective Study

    No full text
We aimed to examine whether prognostic nutritional index (PNI) could serve as an auxiliary predictor for major cardiovascular events (MCEs) in patients undergoing invasive coronary angiography (ICA). A total of 485 participants were enrolled, divided into low-PNI (≥47.40) and high-PNI (p = 0.001). Malnutrition risk (low PNI) was significantly and independently associated with a higher risk of MCEs (hazard ratios: 2.593, 95% confidence intervals [CI]: 1.418–4.742). Combined use of the number of stenotic vessels with malnutrition risk showed a higher capacity to predict the MCEs than the presence of stenotic vessels alone (areas under the receiver operator characteristic curve: 0.696 [95% CI, 0.618–0.775] vs. 0.550 [95% CI, 0.466–0.633], p = 0.013). In conclusion, lower PNI levels may predict a higher risk of cardiovascular events in patients undergoing ICA, which supports the necessity of the risk assessment of nutrition status and guide the clinical treatment on strengthening nutritional support before ICA is performed, as well as nutritional intervention after ICA

Using a low-background sample of 2.6×1052.6\times 10^5 J/ψωη(ωπ+ππ0,ηγγ)J/\psi\rightarrow\omega\eta(\omega\rightarrow\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0},\eta\rightarrow\gamma\gamma) events, about 5 times larger statistics than previous experiments, we present a Dalitz plot analysis of the decay ωπ+ππ0\omega\rightarrow\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0}. It is found that the Dalitz plot distribution differs from the pure PP-wave phase space with a statistical significance of 18.9σ18.9\sigma. The parameters from the fit to data are in reasonable agreement with those without the cross-channel effect within the dispersive framework, which indicates that the cross-channel effect in ωπ+ππ0\omega\rightarrow\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 is not significant.Comment: 9 pages, 9 figure

Using a sample of 4.48 x 10(8) Psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we study the two-photon decays of the pseudoscalar mesons pi(0,) eta , eta' , eta(1405), eta(1475), eta(1760), and X(1835) in J/Psi radiative decays using Psi(3686) -> pi(+) pi(-) J/Psi events. The pi(0), eta, and eta' mesons are clearly observed in the two-photon mass spectra, and the branching fractions are determined to be B(J/Psi -> gamma pi(0) -> 3 gamma) = (3.57 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.16) x 10(-5), B(J/Psi -> gamma eta -> 3 gamma) = (4.42 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.18) x 10(-4), and B(J/Psi -> gamma eta' -> 2 gamma) = (1.26 +/- 0.02 +/- 0.05) x 10(-4), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. No clear signal for eta(1405), eta(1475), eta(1760) or X(1835) is observed in the two- photon mass spectra, and upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the product branching fractions are obtained

Using 1.31×1091.31\times10^9 J/ψJ/\psi events collected by the BESIII detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider, we search for the process J/ψΛc+e+c.c.J/\psi\to\Lambda_c^+e^-+c.c. for the first time. In this process, both baryon and lepton number conservation is violated. No signal is found and the upper limit on the branching fraction B(J/ψΛc+e+c.c.)\mathcal{B}(J/\psi\to\Lambda_c^+e^-+c.c.) is set to be 6.9×1086.9\times10^{-8} at the 90\% Confidence Level
